During the Dark Ages

"So this thing is called a cavern mole, huh." Colin said, looking at the burnt corpse of the beast he just killed. The beast didn't die from his flames, but from him digging his claws into it's neck and ripping a huge chunk out of it. He decided to store the corpse in his storage ring and looked around the chamber. He could see multiple tunnels leading in different directions. Some of the tunnels were two small for him to fit in, and he quickly disregarded them. He used [Demon Eyes] to see if he could find anymore trails, which he did not, but he could see the demonic energy emanating from each tunnel, and he settled on the one that eminated the most potent demonic energy. But he didn't go immediately.

'Hmm, that mole just now was a tier 4, which means that the creatures in here are most likely on the same tier...or even higher.' Colin thought and decided to advance carefully. As he went down the tunnel, he found more and more cursed ores, until he found another chamber, larger than the last, and it was filled with more cavern moles.

'One, two, three, four, five. Alright, five tier 4 beasts, I should be able to take them if they are as weak as the last one. But I need to be quick.' Colin thought as he saw the five moles walking around the chamber, sniffing the air, as if they were looking for something. Colin waited until one of them were close to him, he lunged towards it. All the moles instantly squealed loudly, and the one closest to him curled itself into a ball, exposing the crystals on it's back. Colin quickly changed his punch into a grab and grabbed one of the creature's spikes and threw it towards the other side of the chamber, causing it to crash heavily into the wall.

The other moles sent dozens of earth shards towards the him and he quickly jumped into the air, digging his claws into the ceiling. He stayed clinged to the ceiling, as the moles sniffed the air, trying to find him.

'Wait a minute, can't they see me? I remember hearing that moles have poor eyesight and a good sense of smell. But they can't sniff me out even though I'm this close, so how have they been sensing me so far.' Colin thought while the moles wondered around searching for him.

'This might work in my favour, if I can take them out from up here then, but I don't want to collapse the entire mountain on me, so I'm gonna need something deadly but not explosive.' Colin thought and he dislodged one of his hands from the ceiling and made his index and middle fingers in the shape of a gun. He concentrated his demonic energy in his fingers and pointed it towards the head of one of the moles. He fired a concentrated blast of hellfire that looked like a laser, and it pierced through the back of the mole. The mole squealed in pain and the others rushed towards it, but Colin prepared another laser. This time, when he fired it, the laser twist in the air like a snake, before piercing through the moles head.

'Nice.' Colin thought as the dead moles brethren squealed around it's corpse.

*Crack*

*Crumble*

'Fuck.' Colin cursed internally as the rock he was holding onto cracked and he fell to the ground. The moles instantly turned towards him and squeal, and a path of earthen spikes was sent towards him as the path and he quickly rolled out of the way. The path of deadly spikes crashed into the wall, causing the chamber to shake violently. The moles dived into the ground and started circling him like sharks, trapping Colin between them as they started shooting small spikes towards him. Colin did his best to deflect the spikes with his hands, but a lot of them managed to draw blood.

*Growl*

'Now what?!' He thought and he could see a creature with shiny metal plates coming down one of the tunnels.
