Chapter 1: Chapter 1 : Ryuhei Aiku
Ryuhei Aiku opened his eyes as the faint afternoon light filtered through the window and onto his face. The tiredness hadn't fully dissipated, and a lingering sense of confusion remained in his mind. He had just taken an afternoon nap longer than usual. It wasn't just a normal rest, though. It was a strange dream that left Ryuhei unable to stop thinking about it.
In the dream, a woman with long, jet-black hair and a gentle yet commanding voice called out his name. "Oliver…" The call echoed in his mind like an unanswered question. The woman, though gentle in appearance, had an expression of tension in her eyes that made Ryuhei feel a sense of fear. Before he could understand what was happening, she pulled him away, hiding him from a sudden attack. He didn't have time to see who was chasing them, but the feeling of danger, the unexpected pursuit, kept him trapped in the dream until he woke up.
This strange feeling was not the first time it had happened. Similar dreams, involving the woman and those chasing her, had been appearing more frequently in the past few weeks. He didn't understand why he was dreaming about these things, or why the name "Oliver" kept appearing, but the sensation that something was waiting for him kept lingering.
"It must just be a nightmare," Ryuhei muttered, reaching for the clock on the table beside his bed. His eyes skimmed over the clock's hands, realizing it was already the afternoon. He had slept through most of the day without noticing. Today, his birthday, had started to feel boring.
He sat up quickly, pulled on his jacket, and felt the strength of his well-toned muscles beneath the fabric. Ryuhei's life had always been like this. He excelled in sports, was a top student, and everything seemed to come easily to him. But that was exactly what made him feel suffocated. There were no challenges, nothing to hold his attention for long. He was famous in school, known by both his classmates and teachers, but everything was too simple, and nothing seemed interesting anymore.
His birthday came and went, just like any other day, with nothing special about it. He treated himself to a birthday cake and went out to buy some things. The feeling of suffocation only grew heavier as he walked through the familiar streets of Kuoh Town.
As he passed by a nearby park, a strange sensation suddenly washed over him, as if some source of power was pulling him toward it. He couldn't explain the feeling, but it was too strong to ignore. Without thinking much, Ryuhei turned and walked into the park.
Inside the park, the scene before him stunned him. A beautiful woman, her long black hair flowing freely, stood facing a second-year student that Ryuhei instantly recognized. It was Issei Hyoudou, a member of the infamous perverted trio at school, known by all the students for his absurd humor and bizarre stories.
However, what surprised Ryuhei wasn't Issei's presence, but the scene he witnessed next. The woman with black wings, resembling a fallen angel, held a brilliant light spear in her hand. Without any hesitation, she swung the spear into Issei's chest. Blood splattered, and Issei fell to the ground without a sound.
Ryuhei froze in the shadows of the nearby bushes, both stunned and horrified. Although he couldn't clearly see the woman's face, the aura of evil she emitted kept his eyes locked on her. Issei, one of the most prominent students in school, was now motionless, killed by the light spear.
Just as Ryuhei was about to turn away to hide, a twig cracked under his feet. The sound broke the eerie silence, and in an instant, the woman turned her gaze towards him, her eyes sharp as daggers, fixed directly on him.
With no time to think, the woman raised her hand and hurled a light spear at him. Its speed was too fast, and Ryuhei couldn't escape in time. But just as the light spear was about to strike him, a powerful sensation surged in his chest, making him feel an overwhelming force rise within him.
Memories long sealed within him suddenly erupted. It felt like a drastic change, as if he were no longer an ordinary person. The world around him seemed to pause for a moment. Ryuhei dodged the light spear, moving faster, easily avoiding it as though it were just a regular throw. As the spear whizzed past him, Ryuhei stood his ground, his body full of energy, without a single injury.
He looked back, a slight smirk curling on his lips, as if he had just uncovered something important. "So that's it," he whispered, realizing that the world around him was not as simple as he had once thought. The dreams, the memories locked away, and the power rising within him—everything was connected.
