Chapter 11 She is not as good as a dog 1
Yemo raised her eyes and noticed tears in Yilin’s eyes. She couldn’t help but sigh and said, “Don’t dwell on those thoughts, Yiluo will handle these matters. You should go and rest to avoid any discomfort.”
“Yeah,” Yilin nodded and walked into the room.
Yemo stood there with her hands behind her back.
In reality, the poison in Yilin’s body was a lifelong affliction. Yilin and Yiluo were twins, and the poison had been in Yilin’s body since birth. It was likely that their mother had been poisoned while pregnant with them, and Yilin had absorbed the poison in the womb, which had spared Yiluo.
The poison had been dormant in Yilin’s body, but her previous illness had triggered its onset, causing her health to deteriorate slowly.
The poison in Yilin’s body progressed slowly, yet it was insidious.
Since the poison had been present since their fetal stage, it indicated that it was not intentionally administered to Yilin or Yiluo, but rather to the person carrying them.
A chronic, fatal poison had been used to torment Yilin and Yiluo’s mother.
Most men would not commit such an act, implying that the perpetrator was likely a woman who poisoned their mother.
Yemo had met Yilin and Yiluo when she was five years old, and they were twelve at the time. After being homeless for twelve years, she had been unable to help Yilin and Yiluo locate their families because she didn’t know where they came from.
As she gazed at the darkening sky outside, Yemo decided not to dwell on these thoughts any longer. She turned and entered the space within the Phoenix Ring.
Inside the space, Feng Qi was lying on a tree, sound asleep. When he noticed Yemo’s arrival, he jumped down from the tree.
“Mo Mo,” Feng Qi exclaimed, rushing over and embracing Yemo. “You finally came to see me. It’s been so long.”
“Let go,” Yemo said, looking down at Feng Qi holding her. “Can you please stop hugging me like this every time you see me?” Feng Qi resembled a Nazgul but had the size and appearance of a seven or eight-year-old human boy.
Being hugged by a delicate and beautiful boy every time she entered the space was a bit awkward for her. However, one was a pseudo-child, aged twenty-two but inhabiting a five-year-old body, while the other was a ring spirit with an unknown age.
Thinking about this, Yemo couldn’t help but feel speechless. Despite throwing Feng Qi away each time, he would still act as if she were bullying him.
Initially, Feng Qi had calmed down a bit, but after about ten days, he reverted to his original state. Yemo eventually gave up fighting with him and allowed him to hug her upon entry, only to let him go afterward.
“Alright, alright,” Feng Qi finally released her and asked, “Have you returned to the imperial capital?”
“Yes,” Yemo nodded. “I was on my way, and I couldn’t enter while the carriage was moving. You know where I enter and exit. If I came in halfway, I’d have to chase after the carriage by myself.” She reassured Feng Qi, “But didn’t I come to see you as soon as I arrived in the imperial capital?”
She was afraid that if she stayed away for too long, he would cling to her and refuse to let go.
“Okay, I won’t blame you anymore,” Feng Qi said with a smile. “Will you be very busy in the imperial capital?”
