Chapter 136: Limit Testing
"Mr. Hasan! What is the meaning of this!?" Denji shouted loudly, quite obviously confused and frustrated with Kayn's behavior.
However, rather than answer, Kayn arrived in front of Denji faster than the man could react. Kayn lifted Denji into the air with one hand while keeping his senses on Maneet in the case he made any movements.
"You think you can get away with your life after what you auctioned off? Tell me, is there a representative from Carnet here? I'd like to pay them a visit." Kayn spoke in a commanding tone.
When Denji grit his teeth and didn't answer, Kayn pulled back his other hand which quickly formed a clawed form with black lightning flickering around it before he shoved it into Denji's stomach. Kayn controlled the Extinction Lightning and stopped using it responsively in order to leave Denji alive a little bit longer.
"TELL ME!" Kayn shouted as he reached his hand up through the diaphragm and wrapped his hand around Denji's heart, applying small shocks of electricity in order to disrupt its rhythm and causing Denji extreme pain. He had to try his best not to put him into cardiac arrest.
Denji screamed out as Kayn did this and all the while Maneet was standing to the side not moving a muscle or speaking, just observing.
"There is one! They are in a VVIP room at the end of the hallway! Please let me live! I did nothing wrong!" Denji shouted out in between pained gasps.
"Nothing wrong? How long have you been selling off peoples' lives for profit? How many families have you been involved in ruining just to earn a little coin. You're disgusting." Kayn spoke and squeezed his fit tightly around Denji's heart, causing it to explode into several pieces inside of his chest.
Kayn threw Denji's lifeless body to the side like a rag and turned to face Maneet. "You simply pissed me off, and clearly you're not a great person either."
"Ha, that's quite funny. If you think I'll be as easy as that poor sap to kill, you have another thing coming! My guards could take care of you on their own." Maneet's voice oozed with confidence, not knowing his guards were already dead and gone.
"Oh, you mean those two 4th stagers outside? They're long dead." It was Kayn's turn to be amused as it seemed Maneet hadn't thought about how Kayn entered inside in the first place.
"Hmm, you're right. Oh well!" Maneet shrugged his shoulders, "Guards at that stage are quite replaceable, and I'm not worried. As for you, I guess I'll have to take care of you myself then."
Maneet then removed one of the rings on his fingers, and Kayn was finally able to get a good grasp of his actual stage. Unlike what he radiated, a 3rd stage individual, Maneet had a 5th stage core and he was even over hallway to the 6th stage.
Smugness and confidence seemed to ooze from Maneet's body as he slowly began walking toward Kayn. "You hide it well, but I scanned you secretly with an item when I was in your room. What do you think you, a mere 4th stage insect, can do to me?"
"Guess we will find out," Kayn spoke as he moved into action. Maneet approached Kayn with his fists, so Kayn decided to do the same. Both of his hands were coated with whatever type of mana was changing them into a draconic form. This had happened automatically when he was approaching Denji, and now that he noticed he wanted to test his own limits.
It wasn't that he was underestimating Maneet, but that he was willing to take a few injuries to see just how much punishment this form could take.
One human fist and one black draconic fist smashed into each other creating a shock wave that reverberated out. Kayn's face immediately scrunched up in pain as he could feel the bones in his hand breaking. He was quite disappointed that this first clash showed that even with the empowerment he was still far away from matching the strength of a 5th stage magic warrior.
On the other hand, Maneet was stunned. He had imbued his fist with earth mana and hit with all of his strength, yet this puny 4th stage was almost matching him? That wasn't possible! He should have been exploded with one hit! His smile turned into a frown as he began furiously attacking Kayn with punches and kicks.
Kayn responded in kind, only this time he cut off his pain receptors with darkness infusion and enhanced his fists with earth fusion. Then he infused his body with lightning for quicker reflexes and wind for speed and extra nimbleness.
Minutes passed by with the two exchanging powerful blows, but while they both accumulated injuries, it seemed that only Maneet was slowing from his. If Maneet saw the massive battle-crazed smile on Kayn's face, he would probably be frightened. Kayn was absorbing mana as fast as he was using it and he also added light infusion after a few minutes to constantly heal his injuries.
To Kayn's surprise, Maneet didn't show any other spells or attack patterns aside from throwing his hands and feet at him. After about 5 minutes, Kayn got bored with the fight. He could tell that he probably wouldn't win a straight up fist fight like this against Maneet as even without feeling the pain and healing himself, his body would surely give out before he won.
Sighing, Kayn manifested Extinction Lightning around his fists. Every punch was now directly stunning Maneet and causing parts of his skin and muscle to vanish into nothingness. Kayn wasn't able to one shot him with it due to the difference in their cores, but it was still quite effective.
Maneet began to panic as his pace quickened, but even if he willed it, his body could only move so fast and he was losing pieces of himself at a faster pace.
After a few more minutes of Kayn pummeling on Maneet with the Extinction Lightning active, Maneet's body was riddled small craters and, in some cases, entire parts were missing. He could no longer move his arms, one side of his mouth was gone, and several places along his torso weren't doing great either.
"If you have a next life, I hope you're a cockroach skittering along the ground, hoping not to get stepped on by someone more powerful than you." Kayn stated as he threw a punch with all of his physical strength while igniting Extinction Flames as well as Extinction Lightning straight at Maneet's head.
Maneet's body was sent crashing into the nearby wall, his face completely gone and the rest of his head engulfed in black flames that were slowly eating away at his flesh.
Kayn stared at the two bodies for a few seconds while also casting several different healing spells on himself. He healed his pain receptors in order to tell which areas were more injured than others, which he instantly regretted as a massive number of signals were sent to his brain.
Pain! He felt pain all over his body, but especially in his arms as he had overused and abused the muscles and bones. He had to stand there for a few moments just to let the healing spells do their job before he could move comfortably again.
While he was able to let off a bit of steam with this skirmish, he should have just ended things sooner since he still had an entire facility to bring down. He could always call the back up, but this was his wish and he wanted to fully vent out his wrath on these people and to regain his sanity, otherwise he wouldn't feel satisfied.
Finally recollecting himself, Kayn first moved to Maneet's body that was slowly but surely disappearing due to the Extinction Flames that were traveling from his head to the rest of his body. He glanced around here and there trying to find a spatial bag or dimensional ring, but was having no luck.
Thinking about it, Kayn realized that Maneet had placed the ring he took off into his right pants pocket. Sure enough, when Kayn checked the pocket, the space it contained was quite large, bigger than the pouch his mother had left for him even.
Before the flames could reach his pants, Kayn ripped them off of his body and shoved it into his dimensional ring for them to go through later. Denji's spatial pouch was easier to find as Kayn had personally watched him place coins and take out goods from it.
Continuing to heal himself, Kayn started making his way through the VIP rooms. He had attracted a bit of attention with his fight against Maneet, but the responding security wasn't anything that would cause him to give them a glance.
Kayn found a few more VIP guests in their rooms and he promptly knocked them out and tied them up before moving on. Most of these people had 3rd or 4th stage cores, but each had a lot of money in whatever device they were using to carry their things. Kayn was a bit surprised when he hadn't found a single dimensional ring, but it made sense as they were extremely rare.
Kayn either killed or captured anyone he came across that wasn't wearing a slave collar. Anyone that was, he simply knocked out and placed to the side for later retrieval. Someone that was being controlled didn't deserve the treatment he was giving the others as they most likely had no choice other than to do their jobs.
Kayn arrived at the secret door that would lead him to the downstairs facility and quickly repeated the same actions as he had before, bypassing the door's security formation. He wasn't trying to be stealthy and he had already sensed it, but what was waiting for him at the bottom of the stairs before the storeroom and prison cells was more than he expected.
