- Tell me everything you saw, what the attackers looked like, what they talked about, any little details," said a man in his thirties, with short black hair and the same colour eyes. He was wearing an officer's uniform, with several medals attached to the left side of his chest.
Eros looked at Kagura, who lowered her eyes, almost crying. He smiled softly and stroked her head, and when their gazes met, the titan nodded. Only then did she begin to tell...
Half an hour later.
- Thank you for telling me," Thomas said thoughtfully, he looked at the girl and called one of the knights into the office, "Do you like sweets? - He asked Kagura with a slight smile.
The latter nodded.
- Take Kagura with you and treat her to something sweet.
As soon as the girl left the office, Thomas sighed and closed his eyes.
- This isn't the first time this has happened, is it? - Eros asked, looking into the officer's tired eyes. During the story, the titan didn't see a shred of surprise on Thomas's face.
- That's right," he sighed, "This is the third time in the last year.
- And in a whole year you haven't been able to catch them?
- They choose their targets according to several criteria: One, as far away from the nearest town as possible, and two, as close to the sea as possible. But there are hundreds of villages like this, and we don't have the manpower to throw them away, and we don't know when they'll attack again.
- What about going to the council personally to get their help?
- I just told you their answer," the officer said with a grin, "Because until we give them their exact location, they won't even lift a finger.
- I see, then can you give me some information on this case?
- Do you really want to help? - Thomas asked in surprise.
- Yes.
- Good, we could use the help of such a powerful magician, I will make sure you get all the information, but in the meantime you can wait in the corridor.
As soon as they left the office, Rani looked at Eros in surprise.
- What was that?
- What do you mean?
- Why did he treat you so respectfully, and even agree to give you information about the case?
- He just found out about my power, - Eros said with a sly smile, - Remember that man from the ground floor?
Rani nodded in bewilderment.
- He's a good sensor, even after I tried to hide the amount of my magic power, he could still feel it," Eros said, stroking the ring and making a note to update the runes on the ring, "And that's why they agreed to give me all the information, because they could use my help.
Half an hour later the man from the ground floor came up to them and handed them a thick folder with everything related to the case and taking Kagura they left the office.

It had been three days since Eros had started looking into the case. He'd been trying to find some pattern to the attacks so he could determine their next target, but the titan hadn't found anything. The past two facts were correct, they chose those villages that were furthest from the cities and closest to the sea. So that firstly - help could not come quickly, if the inhabitants could somehow report, secondly - the destroyed village would be discovered as late as possible and thirdly a quick way of escape, that is by sea.
One thing that made Eros wary though was that everything was going off without a hitch. He just doubted that they were blindly attacking without knowing the situation in the village beforehand. So Eros had a hunch that they were probably studying the village beforehand and then, realising that there was no danger, attacked. Later, after asking Kagura about it, he learnt an interesting news that three days before the attack, a strange group of people came to their village and started asking about the village, and three days later they attacked it.
After talking to Thomas about it, Eros suggested not to put out a search for these people yet, so as not to scare them away, but to send a rune knight disguised as an ordinary citizen to each of the villages that fit the condition. In this way, they would be able to detect the enemies in advance and capture them. The officer fully supported the plan, but could only allocate fifty people for such a long-term mission. After all, there was no telling when they were going to attack again.
After receiving the lacrima of communication from Thomas, Eros' team left the city and travelled onwards. The Titan didn't decide to linger long in Margaret and headed straight on.
Still, they were three months late on Eros' plan. The next place they were to visit was Sun Village, home to the Titan race, massive humanoid creatures that are dozens of times taller than humans.
When Eros was making the plan, he wasn't going to include this village in there until he saw the word "titan". The titan was very surprised and began to search as much as he could for records about it, and when he found a description of the people there, he was very disappointed. At first, he thought it might be someone from his own race who had also travelled to this place. But still, Eros decided to visit the village because of the eternal fire, which is often described in books as "the purest flame" and many fire mages come to the village to try to have a chance to subdue it or at least temper and purify their flames. But any mage is not allowed to enter the village, because the tribe considers this flame to be the sacred protector of the village and anyone who trespasses on it will be killed!

A fortnight later they reached their destination.
- Wow! - Rick looked from behind a tree to the entrance to the village, which was guarded by two Viking-like giants with helmets and a pair of horns. In their hands they each held a stick.
Because the village was on a small slope with several large rocky mountains surrounding the village, one could see part of the village. All of the buildings were mostly stone built in the medieval style and were small single storey buildings. The village itself was surrounded by a stone wall and there was only one entrance.
- How are you going to get into the village? - Lily asked with interest, looking at the two giants at the entrance, -They must be very strong, and there are still several hundred of them in the village....
- Who says I'm going to fight?
- Didn't you?
- I'm not an idiot or some bloodthirsty type," Eros exclaimed with judgement in his voice.
- I'm sorry...
- I'm kidding, - he looked at the village again and smiled, - I'm going to get in there without being seen, it's not for nothing that I spent almost a million jewels on this thing, - Eros stroked the ring and the next moment it glowed and the titan disappeared right in front of his eyes.
- What happened? - Kagura asked in surprise, looking around, -Where is he? - She looked around anxiously until she felt something stroking her cheek. - But before she could speak, Kagura felt something clamp her mouth shut. Her eyes filled with fear.
- Don't scream, it's me," Eros said cheerfully, putting down the panting girl who looked at the empty space behind her with tears in her eyes, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," he appeared and said guiltily.
Lily walked over to Kagura, put her arm around her and looked at Eros angrily.
- That's how I'm going to get in there and I'm going to do it at night, but for now let's make camp and wait.
- You idiot!
In the evening, Eros activated the ring and disappeared, but Eros hid his magic power with another ring. In a fortnight, he had managed to update the runes and now it almost completely hid his magic power. Still, his gigantic amount of magic power, is very hard to hide. But for these giants, who mostly use only brute force and understand almost nothing about magic, he would hardly be noticed.
Eros moved quickly and after a few seconds he was over the wall and began to make his way through the giant buildings bypassing the patrols, he was quickly approaching the tallest building, behind which is the mountain where the Eternal Flame is supposedly located.
When Eros got very deep into the village, he sensed something wrong, for suddenly everything became quiet. At that moment, he was surrounded by about ten giants.
- Baby, you underestimate us too much if you think that if you become invisible, we won't notice you," said the armoured giant in front of Eros, smirking.
Eros had no choice but to remove the invisibility.
- You're a child," he frowned, "Go away, we're not ruthless enough to kill children," but the next moment his gaze became hard, "But if you try to go any further, don't blame us for being ruthless.
Behind Eros' back, the titans parted, opening a passage through which he could pass. But he shook his head and looked straight into the giant's eyes.
- All I need is a small piece of eternal fire and I will leave.
As soon as they heard his reply, all the warriors' eyes filled with rage and they clenched their weapons tighter in their hands. Only the giant in front of Eros was calm.
- Are you sure child, there is no turning back?
- I am grateful and I understand that you want what's best for you, but I need that flame," Eros unleashed his power, making the ground tremble and the giants tense up and prepare for a fight soon.
But when the battle was about to begin, everyone in the village heard a voice... A voice that made everyone near and within the village tremble. The giants turned to the mountain and dropped their weapons, fell to their knees and bowed.
- Stop...
