Fate: The Holy Grail

Chapter 13: Chapter 12: Dance Under the Moon

[3rd POV]

The library was in ruins after the explosion, with the air filled with the smell of smoke and burning everywhere.

After taking a deep breath...

Assassin stood on top of the low building and clearly smelled the smoke, even hearing the fierce wind as the flames roared.

At first glance, Assassin spotted Iskandar in the middle of the ruins. He knew this servant's true name, Noble Phantasm, personality, and master very well.

Kiritsugu had placed his first target on Rider's team, which surprised Assassin a little because the bombing of the building only confirmed to him that it was indeed Kiritsugu's work.

During the Fourth Holy Grail War in Fuyuki City, who else but Kiritsugu Emiya would do something like this?

Despite Iskandar's angry accusations, Assassin remained unfazed, hiding at the top of the white low building.

However, when Rider spoke words of praise, Assassin's face flushed slightly.

The talk of heroic knights and noble heroes made him feel quite embarrassed.

Gilgamesh could not tolerate Iskandar's mockery which he expected.

However, Assasin knew that Tokiomi would never allow Gilgamesh to use the Sword of Rupture to deal with Rider.

But without using such a powerful trump card, it would be impossible to beat Iskandar's heroic army.

Assassin sensed it, and his sharp vision saw drifting yellow sand nearby... It belongs to Iskandar's Noble Phantasm, Ionioi Hetairoi: Army of the King.

However, Assassin's instinct didn't predict the scene of Iskandar and Gilgamersh fighting in battle.

Instead, he heard two gunshots and foresaw a sniper bullet flying toward his mind!

He quickly reacted and subconsciously raised his sword directly.

With a sharp slash and the sharp sound of "clang," the bullet fragment was sliced into two, but he also exposed his position in the process.

He stood on top of a low building while Gilgamesh on a streetlamp, was far lower than his position.

In other words, Gilgamesh felt insulted, and as the oldest of the Heroic Kings, he could not tolerate such behavior.

He looked at Assassin with a defiant look, cold and arrogant, and the strong killing intent made him unconsciously crush the streetlamp!

"Let your broken body serve as an apology!"

The Gate of Babylon behind him shifted its direction, tilting slightly upwards.

Without even glancing at Assassin, Gilgamesh immediately aimed at him.

There were originally more than twenty golden ripples in the air behind Archer, but now, four of the treasures were aimed at Assassin.

The remaining ones still pointed at Iskandar as if Gilgamesh were simply hitting a mosquito.

The next moment, the golden light from the treasures exploded from the Gate of Babylon!

"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh."

These were four golden throwing spears, each of them a treasure of C rank or higher.

Despite being cold weapons, they whistled through the air like artillery shells once they left the Gate of Babylon!

These were like cannonballs!

Assassin's instinct predicted this, and he saw the treasures slam into the unstable building and crumble in the explosion.

He surged forward, then leaped high into the air.

While jumping off the building, Assassin watched as the throwing spears flew past him.

Assassins' heightened concentration made him feel like time was slowing down. With his exceptional agility, he could clearly see the details of the treasures.

Although the throwing spears had a golden shimmer on their surface, their actual color was a deep iron-blue.

"Boom!"

The moment Assassin landed, the building collapsed behind him.

"Dodge?"

Gilgamesh turned to face Assassin, arrogantly crossing his arms as he spoke.

"This king will see how long you, a mere insect, can hide from me!"

There were eight new treasures coming out from behind him.

Without a hint of mercy, he poured down toward Assassin.

He saw the first treasure charging at him. Its spearhead twisted like a snake, and the shaft stretched four meters long!

However, he merely took a small step back to evade it, watching as the spear drove itself deep into the earth in front of him.

Next came a halberd adorned with a hooked sickle... releasing bolts of lightning in every direction.

Assassin pressed his foot into the ground using the force to launch himself to the right at full speed.

With a flash of lightning and a deafening crack of thunder, the halberd struck the ground to his left.

The trident and axe were coming next, aimed at him on the right.

He jumped lightly into the air, narrowly avoiding the trident's strike, but adjusting his position mid-air to avoid the axe was far more difficult.

He quickly tilted his sword in front of him using his Mind's Eye to deflect the flying axe away just in time!

The impact left Assassin's arm tingling, but another silver trident was already flying toward him!

Even the golden brilliance of the Gate of Babylon couldn't hide the bright silver tip of the trident.

This was a Noble Phantasm of at least A-rank!

The silver trident was coming from the right, and it would explode on impact!

He needed to jump to the left using the explosion's shockwave to avoid the damage.

After making a decision, Assassin immediately sprang into action.

The moment he jumped, the explosion forcefully pushed him back to his original position, and the shockwave caused his blood to surge uncontrollably!

After landing, Assassin noticed the twin swords were shifting mid-air, crossing over each other.

He would have to bend low to avoid them!

The twin swords fell, seemingly not aimed directly at his body, but at the last moment, they changed direction.

However, Assasin was already ready when the twin blades flew just inches from his forehead as he arched backwards and bowed gracefully.

Finally, there was a spiked, fiery red morning star...

The hammer would incinerate the earth but could only hit within a certain distance.

He lightly stepped on the head of the spear and gently propelled himself gracefully onto the end of it.

The moment the fiery red morning star hammer hit the ground, the earth within a two-meter radius instantly turned to lava!

Without being affected, the spear was already half-buried deep in the earth, and the scorching flames couldn't destroy it.

The scorching fire burned beneath the spear while Assassin lightly stood on the end of the spear.

Assassin glanced up under the rising moon, locking eyes with Gilgamesh, the one who had been attacking him...

To be continued...
