Fated to My Enemy

Chapter 4: Chapter 4 A Dark Shadow

Xinying's father could often be seen on the news before he jumped from the building.

In Xinying's eyes, her father was her rock and also an incredible man.

From the time Xinying could remember, there had always been a nanny to look after her around the clock, a chauffeur to take her places, she attended the best schools and had the finest teachers.

Materially, she was no different from the typical daughter of a wealthy family.

Although the family's house wasn't a large villa, it was located in an area that even rich people couldn't buy into.

This was why Xinying had always been so proud and haughty. What she got from a young age was different from ordinary people.

Yet now, the villa that appeared before her still made her inwardly exclaim in admiration.

Even though the location was a bit remote, the villas in this area were exclusively for the wealthy.

Because here, everything from the environmental to architectural design was the work of world-class designers.

In front of the European-style villa was an open-air swimming pool, beside which lay a sun lounger.

The pool was surrounded by a pavement made of expensive natural marble.

The color and patterns looked very classy.

Walking over the marble pavement, she arrived at the villa's entrance.

Four Roman columns in front of the door made the house seem even more majestic, as if one were in a fairytale world.

"Have you clung onto another wealthy man?" Xinying hadn't expected Jian Wanrong to bring her to such a place.

"What do you mean 'again'? Could your dad even be considered wealthy? At best, he was not starving! What I coveted was the power in your father's hands. Silly child!" Jian Wanrong sneered mockingly, "I'm now a widow, if I want to cling to a wealthy man, I'll need to wait a bit longer." Xinying's eyes clouded with a layer of mist. It took her a few seconds to realize she was referring to that sinister man!

"Let me advise you, when you're under someone else's roof, you best be more restrained. Otherwise, with his methods, he has plenty of ways to torture you."

"If that's the case, why should I even come here to stay?" Xinying twisted her luggage, intending to leave.

But she was pulled back by Jian Wanrong.

"If you behave, not only will you be able to find the culprit who slandered your father, but you'll also gain endless glory and riches. He's no ordinary man; he is the big boss of VI Group, Yan Ye."

Xinying didn't listen to the rest of what was said.

She only heard Jian Wanrong say the word 'slandered'.

Jian Wanrong claimed her father had been slandered… She was very certain of that in her heart!

Following Jian Wanrong into the villa, several servants immediately came out to take Xinying to her room.

After Xinying followed the servants to the guest room, she did not come out again.

The villa was not only beautiful and elegant from the outside, but even more luxurious and impressive inside. Standing there, she could imagine the owner of this mansion was incredibly wealthy.

Xinying felt very sad today, and as soon as she lay on the bed, tears couldn't stop falling.

When it was time for dinner, the servants called for her, but she did not respond.

Soon, the sky darkened.

A slight noise accompanied the opening of the door.

Xinying awoke with a start.

She squinted and watched the door warily.

Soon, a dark shadow flashed in.

The shadow was tall and burly, clearly a man.

"My bed must be so comfortable that you won't even get up with your eyes open," the shadow suddenly spoke, and Xinying startled, bolted upright.

'Click', the light was turned on.

The room was as bright as day, his handsome face sharply defined.

"This is your room?" Xinying's heart raced, and her cheeks flushed red with heat.
