Chapter 5: CHAPTER 5- HHSC
Haruki chased after Hinata immediately, and luckily caught up with him. If he had been a minute slower, Hinata would have gone to school without him.
" What happened between you and mom" he asked after minutes of silence. " You shouldn't talk to her like that, she's our mom okay?"
Hinata looked like he was about to reply, but decided not to and that made Haruki worried. He wished Hinata would also trust him and tell him things. The rest of the journey was in silence and that brought discomfort even to the driver.
They finally made it to school, and the brothers made their way to their respective classes. Haruki was in the same year as Asahi and his friends, while Hinata was two years behind.
" See ya later lil bro. Please don't scare your classmates off before getting to know them?" Haruki said teasingly, and Hinata rolled his eyes in response. As he made his way to his class, he noticed that he kept to arriving at same place and that was when he admitted to himself that he's lost.
" Wow, what a way to start my day" he sighed frustratedly.
Asahi grinned as he saw Hinata walking endlessly. He was like a tigress that won't ask for directions because of her pride. And Asahi founded that cute though he hoped his little tigress won't get tired before class.
" Hinata, what are you doing here?" He said calmly with a smile as he approached him.
Asahi was the last person Hinata wanted to run into. It would have been less awkward if it was one of his friends. Ever since their meeting yesterday, Hinata couldn't seem to push Asahi out of his mind. He felt a strange connection and was subconsciously drawn to him. Asahi made Hinata feel things in a conflicting way the water makes him feel. And Hinata finds that to be a great hassle. Something he doesn't want to deal with.
" Nothing" Hinata replied
" What do you mean, nothing. You'll be late if you keep standi..."
" And what is it to you?" Hinata snapped back. He was getting tired from walking all round and an argument is something he's not ready for.
" I'm sorry, but huh..I...uh.. can I take you." Asahi said,stammering " if you don't mind " he added.
" I'd appreciate that" Hinata replied. And with that, they took off. It only took the a couple of minutes to find Hinata's class. Asahi waved him goodbye but Hinata ignored it and Asahi smirked as he watched him go in.
Everyone in the class were aware of the director's youngest son joining the class that day. When Hinata entered, the teacher came in right after and he was asked to introduce himself to the class.
"Hinata Mitsuaki" he said looking at no one in particular and without waiting for the teacher's next sentence, he made his way to the empty seat he spotted. Everyone had their eyes on him. Many people were scared to approach him. His indifferent and detached face kept them at arms length. That didn't stop them from drooling over him as he walked past them.
When he was settled, a girl came to seat beside him. " Hi, my name is Ootake Aoi" she said but Hinata didn't pay her any attention.
" Aoi, you're at it again, come on give it a rest" a girl snickered
" Aw, I just wanted to be friends with him" she said. Hinata tried to focus on the lesson but the girl beside him was becoming a nuisance.
" Leave" he said coldly, and the girl flinched.
" Why? Why? I just wanna be friends, you have to be my friend" she whined
" Leave me the fuck alone" Hinata snapped back and that attracted the attention of the teacher.
" What's going on over there" the teacher asked
" I was just trying to make friends with him, but he's being mean" she complained
" Now is not the time for that, miss Aoi, now back to your seat" the teacher commanded and Aoi grumbled back to her seat. After that the class became silent.
After the class, Hinata had nothing to do and was itching to be in the water. Just as though
his worries were heard, Masayoshi barged into their classroom and the students wondered what an upperclassman was doing in their class. Masayoshi made his way to Hinata's seat after scanning the class.
" Um.... Sorry to disturbing you, but Hinata can you please join the HHCS?" He said, praying not to be rejected. He heard from Haruki about Hinata natural talent of swimming and he made it his perogative to recruit Hinata. He knew it wouldn't be easy though, because Hinata has no intention of joining competitions. He also knew how expressionless Hinata is after their first meeting but he could only hope for a positive response.
