Chapter 83: Embers of Light
(Rhaegon's POV)
"With the birth of your sibling, your wedding will follow." Mother said as I sat on the couch, my sister was sitting next to me, "Don't forget that."
"Oh, right." I said as I rubbed my hair
Monica looked at me, "So you're finally getting married."
I frowned, "What do you mean, finally?" I grumbled
We were in Mother's chambers, she had called for us later that day. After our little History talk, I was going to leave and go back to Summerhall, but she had told me that she still needed to discuss things with me.
She sat in a chair across from us, "I am about to sleep." She said as she yawned, "It's pretty late. Rhaegon, do not leave until tomorrow after breakfast."
I nodded, "I suppose if my mother demands it." I said
There was a knock on the door and she looked over, "Come on in." she called
I turned to see the doors opening and Rhea walked in, closing it behind her, "Princess..." She said, "You wanted to see me?"
"Yes, come." she waved her over, "Come child."
Rhea walked over and glanced at me nervously, she stood next to Mother who sat on the chair as Mother gestured her to sit on the couch next to Monica.
"Princess?" She asked
"Sit." she said with a smile
"A-Alright..." Rhea bowed slightly and walked over and slowly sat next to Monica
"Why so nervous, Rhea?" Monica asked
I leaned against my arm, "Does she know?" I asked Mother
Mother smiled, "I'll let her find out?"
"Know what?" Monica asked
"Uhm..." Rhea said softly
"Anyways." Mother spoke up, "You will all have a brother."
I looked at her with surprise, "Wait...." I said, "You did it, the thing....?"
She nodded, "Yes, an Heir will soon come." She said with a smile
"A brother?" Monica asked, "That's good, I suppose...but I want a sister."
Mother glanced at Rhea who sat next to her.
"Hm..." I said as I scratched my cheek
"What?" Monica looked at me
Rhea was looking down, her hands on her laps, not saying a word.
"Nothing." I said as I looked away, "That's great, Mother. Does Father know?"
"It is a surprise." She said, "Rhea, darling, what are your thoughts?"
"I..." Rhea said softly, "Congratulations, Princess..."
"Rhea..." Mother said firmly, "I want to know your feelings on the matter. You can be honest."
Rhea looked up slowly and glanced at me, "I...." she said, "I hardly know my brother....so I hope I can know this one better...."
"Who's your brother?" Monica asked
"M-My brother...." Rhea said, "Is...He's a Knight."
"Oh." Monica said, "Like Rhaegon."
I rolled my eyes, "Oh boy." I said as I stood up, "Rhea, come to my chambers tomorrow after breakfast. We will have a talk."
I walked over to my Mother and kissed her on the cheek before walking away and out of the room.
"Good night, my sweetling." I heard Mother call after me
I nodded and waved them off.
I have too much on my mind to worry about things like these.

(Third Person POV)
[Somewhere In Essos]
Vaemon Blackfyre walked through the massive doors as he held a small chest in his arm.
Before him, a group of Black Priestess stood, lined up in a single file as they looked at him.
"Hm, always an unsettling sight." Vaemon smirked as he raised the chest with his arm, which was connected to a small chain, "I have brought them."
The priestesses moved to the side to allow the High-Priestess to walk through, "Vaemon." She said with a thick accent, "You have proved yourself quite useful."
"Nonsense." Vaemon said, "I am merely the courier. The Battle of Summerhall was Stannis Baratheon's doing, manipulated by Melissandre. And all of that was Valerion's doing."
The High-Priestess approached him, "But still, to safely bring them all the way here." She said, "He will be pleased."
"I hope so." Vaemon said, "It is all for him, after all."
"Would you like to see him?" She asked as Vaemon set the chest down in the ground, "Valerion was granted an audience. Surely, he won't mind seeing one of his older sons."
Vaemon opened the chest, revealing a green light shining from it, "I have things to do." He said, "Valerion is about to secure an alliance with the Greyjoys. Euron and Victarion have been tempted successfully. Besides, Valerion is one thing. But if I just happen to see him freely, my sisters will become incredibly envious. And the last thing I want is for Syras to try to murder me in my sleep."
"Vaegon and Vaemon." The High-Priestess said as she pulled out the jars from the chest, "The two Blackfyre brothers who were meant to raze the World. It is a shame Vaegon was impulsive."
"Hehe." Vaemon said, "Vaegon never had an ounce of patience. But alas, he did what he did."
"Have you heard from him? Your other brother?" She asked as she ran her hand on the jar, which was the source of the light, which dimmed down
"No." Vaemon said, "I reckon he's dead."
"Oh, he's not." The High-Priestess said, "You should reach out to him, once in a while."
"Meh." Vaemon said as he turned around, "I will take my leave now. Give my regards to Father."
Vaemon then walked away, going through the open massive doors. The High-Priestess looked at the jar, containing the Embers.
"Soon.....very soon..." She said softly, "Valerion is doing well. Everything is going perfectly with his plan."
She turned around and began to walk, another priestess walked over to the chest and pulled the remaining jars out of it. They then began to walk down the massive hallway of the palace they resided in.
A few minutes later, they came through the same doors that Valerion had walked through. After they opened, they walked through them and made their way to the steps that led to the altar. The room was empty, unlike when Valerion was in there. The only thing that filled the vast space was the shadow of the slumbering dragon that rested against the walls and ceiling.
The High-Priestess walked onto the steps that led up to the dragon's leg, the wing no longer in the way. He then stopped in front of the man who was fused to the leg, breathing heavily as his head was hung over.
"Great One." The High-Priestess said in High-Valyrian, "We have them. The Embers of Light. The Embers that channeled the Unlikely's Ritual..."
"A-Aegon..." The Man said with a raspy voice
"Do you wish to begin?" The High-Priestess asked, "Or should we wait for Valerion's plan to play out?"
The man slowly extended his right arm outwards, his palm open and facing upwards, "Give....." He said
The High-Priestess opened the jar and reached down, grabbing the source of the light. As she pulled it out, there was a sizzling sound and a bit of smoke coming from her fingers.
"The Embers..." She said softly as she placed what looked like a small insect-like creature on the man's palm, "For hundreds of years, the Dark Order have used this to channel magic from different sources."
"I....." The Man said, "Am well aware..."
The creature began to give off a strange sound as its body began to glow brightly. The Man then closed his palm, containing the creature in his hand as he reared his arm back to his body.
"It was these creatures....." The Man said, "That took the life of Viserys The Peaceful....it was these creatures that were embedded into my own body years ago. You may not remember that...but I do."
"That..." The High-Priestess said, "That was the Old Order. We are the new one, Your Order, Great One. We only obey you. You are no longer the pawn they created. We are yours, your property, your pawns."
There was a bright green light that emitted through the man's fingers, a loud sizzling sound coming from his hand as if his palm was being burned. The man did not open his eyes, nor did he react at all.
"We will wait until Valerion is nearly done." He reached his arm back to her, "My Reawakening must be timed correctly. Only then will Zaldrizes Jaes will rise."
"Of course." The High-Priestess took the Ember from his hand and placed it back into the jar, "As you wish. When you Reawaken....Zaldrizes Jaes will spread his wings....."
"And your flames will follow."
