Chapter 123: Wax-Wax Fruit and Explosion Fruit, Art is Explosion!

Evan asked, "What do you mean? Time is running out?"

Claire glanced at him and replied, "Didn't your girlfriend text you?"

Only then did Evan realize he hadn't informed Alice that he was going to be late. He quickly pulled out his phone to send her a message.

He noticed an unread text:

"Evan, there's a class reunion tonight. I'll be back a bit late, okay?"

Evan frowned.

He knew Alice's personality well. She never liked noisy places and rarely kept in touch with old classmates. Why would she attend a class reunion?

Claire yawned. "I've sent the address to your phone. Take the car and head over quickly, or you won't make it in time. There's a lot I haven't explained, but we'll talk after you've handled this."

Evan snapped out of his daze.

This mysterious woman knowing his girlfriend's whereabouts didn't even surprise him anymore.

"Alright, thank you!" Evan repeatedly thanked her and grabbed the car key to leave.

He suddenly stopped in his tracks, awkwardly placing the key back on the counter. "I... don't know how to drive."

Claire frowned. "How do you not even know that?"

She called out in a particular direction, "Kate, be his driver and take him there."

A short-haired woman dressed in yoga pants walked over from the direction Claire had called, bowing respectfully to her. She then picked up the car keys and gestured for Evan to follow her out of Nighttrace Bar.

The WMB car sped down the road, overtaking vehicle after vehicle and stopping just past the crosswalk at red lights.

The short-haired woman's driving skills were exceptional.

Evan, however, was still in a daze, feeling like he was dreaming.

This morning, he had been worried sick about finding a job, and now by nightfall, he had everything.

A car, a job, and even a stunning woman as his driver?

Most importantly, he had awakened two B-class combat talents!

With his Level 6 spiritual energy, he was already a powerhouse in this city.

If he continued practicing and advanced to Level 7 or even Level 8, he could probably slap the city's Security Bureau Chief twice without facing any consequences.

But who exactly was this mysterious woman in the purple gown?

Breaking the silence, Evan smiled sheepishly at the short-haired woman. "Thank you. My name is Evan."

The short-haired woman glanced at him and said, "Mr. Evan, my name is Kate."

Despite his rough appearance, Evan was a meticulous observer.

In that brief glance, he had clearly noticed the envy in Kate's eyes.

Evan had many questions for her but didn't know where to start.

At that moment, his phone buzzed.

He glanced down to see a message from Alice:

"Evan, help me!"

Evan's eyes widened, and he shouted urgently, "Faster! Drive faster!"

Kate nodded calmly. "Please sit tight, Mr. Evan."

The car accelerated abruptly, ignoring red lights entirely.

Several traffic security officers turned on their sirens and began pursuing the WMB.

Evan glanced at the rearview mirror, guilt written all over his face.

He had just met Kate and was already getting her into such trouble!

But the guilt was overshadowed by the unease in his heart.

He was deeply worried about Alice.

The car sped to a restaurant and came to a halt.

Kate glanced at the trailing security vehicles and said, "Mr. Evan, go handle your business. Leave this to me."

Evan expressed his thanks repeatedly as he unbuckled his seatbelt and got out of the car.

Kate called out after him, "Remember, Mr. Evan, don't hesitate if things get messy. Miss Claire has your back."

Evan nodded firmly.

Miss Claire must be the woman in the purple gown.

Although he still didn't understand why she had chosen him, the most important thing right now was Alice.

The restaurant had been entirely booked, and there wasn't a single patron inside.

A waiter approached and said politely, "Sir, the restaurant is reserved for a private event. Please visit another day."

Evan scanned the restaurant, searching for any sign of Alice. "Where are the people who booked the place?"

The waiter's expression turned hostile at his question.

"Are you here to cause trouble?"

The waiter's voice was cold, though his words remained polite.

"Sir, we're not accepting guests today. Please leave."

Evan's phone buzzed with an incoming call from an unknown number.

"Third floor, Room 306."

Frustrated and angry, Evan shoved the waiter aside and stormed toward the stairs.

The waiter shouted, "So, you're here to make trouble! Someone, stop him!"

Several burly men dressed as waiters rushed toward Evan.

Their exposed arms and necks bore scars of varying severity.

These weren't waiters—they were the bouncers who worked security here.

Each one of them was a combat talent awakener.

The leader of the group said coldly, "Kid, you're messing with the wrong place!"

The group of bouncers reached out, attempting to subdue Evan.

But Evan, desperate and furious, had no patience for them.

In his urgency, Evan conjured a small lump of white wax in his hand and hurled it at the bouncers.

The tiny wax ball exploded with a deafening roar.

"Boom!"

The explosion devastated half the restaurant.

Chandeliers fell, tables and chairs were destroyed, and the floor-to-ceiling windows shattered into pieces.

The bouncers were sent flying, crashing to the ground.

The leader, lying on his back, spat blood and stared at Evan in shock.

This wasn't some ordinary troublemaker—this was at least a B-class powerhouse!

The waiter was so terrified that he cowered behind the bar, too scared to peek out.

Evan stared at his hand in amazement.

This was the combination of the Wax-Wax Fruit talent and the Explosion Fruit talent.

The wax, a substance his body could produce, was part of him thanks to the Wax-Wax Fruit.

The Explosion Fruit allowed him to make any part of his body—or what his body produced—explode with tremendous force.

Without wasting another moment, Evan dashed up the stairs to the third floor.

At the landing, he bumped into a young woman.

Her name was Emilyl, Alice's so-called "best friend."

Today, she had lured Alice here under the pretense of a gathering to introduce her to Logan, hoping for a generous reward once Logan was satisfied.

However, the explosion downstairs had unsettled Emilyl, prompting her to come down and check.

The moment she saw Evan, she understood everything.

Crossing her arms, Emilyl sneered, "What are you doing here?

Was that commotion downstairs your doing?

Ha! Do you even know how much this restaurant is worth? Can you afford to pay for the damages?"

She knew Evan would go crazy upon learning Alice was in trouble, but she hadn't expected this level of insanity.

Had he blown up a gas tank or something?

Still, what was the anger of a poor man worth?

This broke nobody was finished.

Evan, seeing Emilyl, immediately grasped the situation and slapped her hard across the face.

Emilyl was an ordinary woman; the slap knocked out two of her teeth.

Her head spun, and she collapsed onto the staircase.

Evan ignored her and stormed straight into Room 306.

Emilyl took a while to recover before letting out a piercing scream:

"Evan! You useless piece of trash! You're finished! You're so finished!"

She fumbled for her phone and dialed her boyfriend.

"Honey! Evan, that loser, showed up! Logan hasn't sealed the deal yet!"
