God Level Farmer In Another World

Chapter 122: Chapter 122: Nighttrace Bar, The Mysterious Proprietress

Chapter 122: Nighttrace Bar, The Mysterious Proprietress

It was the middle of winter, and the temperature was freezing, yet Evan was drenched in sweat.

He had walked all the way, panting heavily.

Evan looked up at the bar in front of him and exclaimed, "Is this Nighttrace Bar? It doesn't look like it's open."

It was 6 p.m., and the sky was already dark.

Most bars would already be open by now, but Nighttrace Bar's doors were shut tight, and the inside looked deserted.

Evan moved closer and noticed the words "Prime Property for Lease" written on the glass door.

"Did the ownership change?"

Peering through the glass door, he saw nothing but darkness inside, with not a single light.

"Is this really the place hiring a security manager? Could this be a scam?"

Evan felt a pang of fear.

It wasn't that he was afraid of being scammed—what could anyone possibly scam from a 200-pound broke guy like him?

He was more afraid of disappointment, worried that his last lifeline might turn out to be a lie.

"Whatever, I'm already here!"

Resolutely, Evan pushed open the glass door and stepped into a world of darkness.

He proceeded cautiously.

The place was filled with scattered furniture and other items, seemingly prepped for renovation.

After walking for about a minute, he noticed a faint light.

By the bar counter near the stage, a woman in a purple gown was sitting and drinking. Her face was obscured by shadows.

Evan sighed in relief.

It was just a woman. What could she possibly do to him?

"Uh, h-hello?" Evan called out softly to her.

The woman turned her head and responded with a charming smile.

She appeared slightly tipsy, her cheeks flushed with an alluring red hue.

Evan froze.

He recognized this woman—she had been at Oumeng Decoration Company.

Hesitantly, he asked, "Excuse me, is this the Nighttrace Bar interview?"

The woman didn't answer, staring at him with a bewitching gaze that made his heart race.

Embarrassed, Evan quickly turned away. "I'm not a bad person. I think I may have come to the wrong place. I'm sorry."

He hastily turned to leave.

"Don't be so timid. Yes, this is the interview. Come here."

A soft laugh came from behind him.

Blinking in confusion, Evan approached the woman and respectfully handed her his resume.

Claire glanced at it briefly and casually set it aside on the bar counter.

"Congratulations, you're hired," she said.

Evan froze again.

Just like that? Was this a joke?

Claire continued as if nothing was unusual, "Your monthly salary will be 10,000 solars. Working hours are from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. If I need you for anything else, I'll call you."

She poured Evan a drink. "Have a glass to celebrate your new job, and to celebrate me finding an excellent security manager."

Evan stared at Claire, dumbfounded.

She wasn't asking him anything? Just like that, he got the job? And at such a high salary?

What kind of bizarre scam was this?

Claire frowned slightly. "Not satisfied? How about I throw in a house? A car too, so you can be on call whenever I need you."

She reached into her bag and pulled out a car key, handing it to Evan. The key had a prominent "WMB" logo—it was for a WMB.

The more generous she became, the less real it all felt to Evan.

Unable to contain himself, Evan asked, "Don't you need to know more about me? I'm just an A-grade life talent awakener. How can you be sure I'm qualified for this job?"

Claire chuckled softly. "Didn't you think about this before coming here? Yet you still came, didn't you? You were already planning to try your luck. Now your goddess of fortune has come to you herself."

As she spoke, she pulled out two strange-looking fruits from her bag.

"You're right about one thing—you're not capable of handling this job as you are now. So, eat these."

Evan instinctively felt that these fruits weren't ordinary.

Something was definitely off!

He recalled news reports about scientists experimenting with extraordinary plants and animals.

Could these fruits be some sort of experimental drug?

Were they looking for a test subject?

Strangely, the realization calmed him.

At least now he understood the scheme.

Evan took two steps back. "I don't think I'm suited for this job. Thank you for the opportunity, but I'll take my leave."

Without waiting for a response, he turned and retraced his steps.

"You think you can leave?" The seductive voice behind him turned icy.

Evan lowered his head and quickened his pace.

Could she really force him to stay?

After all, she was just a woman, while he was a 6'3", 200-pound man!

Plus, back in high school, he was top of his class in physical training. Unless she was a combat talent awakener, there was no way she could overpower him!

Suddenly, Evan bumped into something and stumbled, nearly falling to the ground.

In front of him stood the woman in the purple gown.

At this moment, her eyes had turned into violet slits like a predator's, and her nails had grown long and razor-sharp.

Evan's pupils constricted. She was a combat talent awakener!

The purple-gowned woman sauntered toward him, leaned slightly, and covered her chest with a teasing smile.

"You're quite disobedient, aren't you?"

She grabbed Evan by the collar and dragged him toward the bar counter.

Evan struggled with all his might, but his leg slammed into a steel table, causing him immense pain.

Yet the strength of the stunning woman was overwhelming, far beyond what he could resist.

Claire picked up one of the strange fruits and shoved it into Evan's mouth.

Her movements were rough, leaving him no chance to resist.

Just as Evan resigned himself to his fate, his eyes widened in shock.

[Wax Wax Fruit: B Class]

[Consumes spiritual energy. Allows the user to produce wax harder than steel from their body. The wax can be shaped into any form or used to create various objects at will.]

Evan stared at Claire in disbelief.

After eating the fruit, he had awakened? Awakened a B-class combat talent?

This was definitely a combat talent!

Claire grabbed the second strange fruit and prepared to force it into Evan's mouth.

This time, Evan could see the slight look of pain in her eyes.

"This woman doesn't want to kill me. She desperately wants this fruit for herself!"

Realizing this, Evan stopped resisting and allowed Claire to feed him the second fruit.

Moments later:

[Explosion Fruit: B Class]

[Consumes spiritual energy. Any part of the user's body can explode at will. The user can also blow air to create explosives. They are immune to explosions, even if swallowing a bomb directly.]

Evan was completely dumbfounded.

Another B-class talent?

He stared at the purple-gowned woman in shock. Who was she to have the ability to grant him such powerful combat talents?

Evan felt lightheaded, as if everything happening was unreal.

He stood up blankly, staring at Claire without knowing what to say.

Claire, having finished, returned to her high bar stool, laughing lightly.

"As a security manager, how could you manage with just a life talent? Don't look at me like that. These two are all I'll give you for now. If you want more, you'll have to prove yourself."

Evan was silent for a long time before finally asking, "Who are you? Why...?"

Claire glanced at her watch and said, "I'd love to chat longer, but I think you're on a tight schedule. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been so rough in making you eat the super fruits."
