Chapter 45: Chapter 45: Hello, My Name Is Alexander
Carlos wrapped his arm around the waist of his female secretary, laughing heartily:
"Hahaha, you, you just can't stop bragging, can you? To be honest, those twenty-odd E-rank Awakeners you brought along aren't even qualified to kill me. I called you up here alone because I didn't want to offend the people behind you right away. No matter, once I find out who they are, I'll take care of them too!"
His eyes turned ruthless as he ordered, "Kill him!"
Will clasped his fists toward the window and shouted, "Brothers, lend me a hand!"
Just then, the windows of the Black Dragon Gang's room shattered, and two figures burst in.
One wore a ghostly mask, wrapped tightly in black clothes from head to toe. The other donned a Smurf mask, wore a raincoat, and held a black umbrella in hand.
The Smurf-masked hunter floated lightly, as if weightless, carried in by the ghost-masked figure.
"W-who are you people?!" Carlos was shocked. This was the fifth floor! Could it be that both of them had some kind of flying ability?
Will remained in his fist-clasping stance, saying, "Brothers, the ones in this room are the elites of the Black Dragon Gang. Please be cautious!"
"Just focus on your task."
A strange figure squatted on the windowsill, having appeared there at some point. He wore slicked-back hair, a formal suit, and a clown mask.
These three hunters were 'Ghost Wing' Jack, 'Boxer' William, and 'Clown' Jackson.
Alexander knew that relying on thirty 'viral hunters' alone wouldn't be enough to sweep through the Black Dragon Gang, so he had prepared these three awakened hunters with demon fruit powers. The head-on fights were left to the viral hunters, whom Alexander didn't consider valuable. These three demon fruit hunters were tonight's main force.
Carlos instinctively took two steps back, sensing the threat of death from these masked individuals. He couldn't help but speak, "Brothers, why help Will? I'm the boss of the Black Dragon Gang. How about letting me talk to your leader, I—"
Before he could finish, the ghost-masked man interrupted coldly, "Who do you think you are? You think you deserve to meet our boss?"
With that, he charged at Carlos.
"Wait!" Will shouted, "Brothers, give me some face. Leave him to me!"
This was about a man's dignity; the one who puts a green hat on me must be dealt with by my own hands!
Jack glanced at him, then turned to kill the Black Dragon Gang's fighters.
Carlos's eyes turned fierce. He knew that if he didn't fight now, he wouldn't get another chance. He was a C-rank Awakener, gifted with 'Blood Fury.' His entire body was enveloped in a red glow, brimming with the power of blood energy. Pushing aside the female secretary, he charged at Will.
He remembered that Will was an E-rank talent; he was confident he could take him down. If he killed Will and escaped from the luxurious KTV, he might still have a chance to regroup his forces and rise again!
As he charged confidently, aiming to crush Will's head with a single punch, a layer of blades emerged on Will's arm. Not only did it block Carlos's attack, but it also slashed his fist.

Carlos screamed in shock, "You—you awakened again? Dual abilities?!"
Now he understood why so many powerful fighters were supporting Will! He was a dual-talented individual, a true genius. It was no wonder he was recruited by an even more powerful faction.
Carlos's talent was countered by Will. Flesh and blood were no match for steel.
These years, Carlos had been indulging in women, completely forgetting how to fight, and his body was practically hollowed out. How could he be a match for this vengeful Will?
Carlos, covered in wounds, fell to the ground, looking around at the corpses of the Black Dragon Gang members. The three masked hunters stood amid the blood, coldly watching him.
Carlos waved his hands desperately in surrender, "Will! No, Brother Will! Please, spare me!"
Will crouched down, grabbed Carlos by the collar, his face twisted in anger, "Carlos! I treated you like a big brother, and you stole my woman! Everyone in the gang treats me like a fool!"
Carlos stammered, "I'll give her back to you! I'll even give you the boss's position! Just don't kill me!"
Will's eyes turned icy as his nails transformed into blades, piercing into Carlos's neck, "The only thing I want is your death!"
After finishing Carlos off, he walked toward the female secretary, who was trembling in the corner.
"H-honey, I'm sorry! I was wrong! You're the most amazing one, I'm so sorry, honey!"
The secretary was terrified of Carlos and immediately began crying and begging.
Will no longer had any tenderness in his heart, only boundless hatred. The blade pierced into the woman's heart.
"Why couldn't you just listen to me and leave this place for the sake of our child?"
She had seen the hunters; she had no choice but to die.
Will didn't know if the woman's final thoughts were filled more with regret or fear.
He squatted in the corner and lit a cigarette, staring off into nothing, lost in his thoughts.
The three hunters watched him indifferently. Jack spoke up, "Time's up. We need to go."
Will let out a bitter smile, "Thank you."
How many times had he said that tonight?
The three hunters nodded slightly before jumping out the window.
Will took a deep drag on his cigarette, his eyes fixated on the ceiling.
With all the chaos he had stirred recently and the number of deaths tonight, someone had to take the fall.
That someone was him, and the security bureau would be here soon.
He had set the bureau on fire, gravely injured Giovanni, and killed so many members of the Black Dragon Gang. He wouldn't have enough lives to atone for his actions.
His great revenge was fulfilled, and his heart felt free, yet he couldn't stop worrying about his son, who was still in elementary school.
Just then, his phone rang.
[Hunter 'Blade Demon' exclusive mission completed.]
[Mission reward: Assistance in killing Carlos, vengeance.]
[Additional reward: Care for Adam until adulthood.]
Will began to laugh, a mix of sadness and relief, clasping his fists toward the air.
"Thank you, guild. Thank you, president."
His phone started to overheat, eventually short-circuiting and burning up until it turned into a piece of scorched debris.
The sound of sirens came from downstairs as a group of security officers rushed up.
The team leader, Ethan Blake, saw the corpses scattered across the floor, his pupils contracting violently as he fixed his gaze on Will.
"You did this?" he asked coldly.
Will smiled indifferently, "Yes, Captain Blake. I confess."
Ethan replied icily, "Take him away!"
Neither of them knew that the other was also a hunter.
The next evening.
At the entrance of Bluewater Elementary School, students rushed into the arms of their parents, smiles on their faces as they walked hand in hand toward home.
Adam stood there alone, the last child at the gate, with only an elderly security guard for company.
The little boy was clearly upset.
Dad hadn't come home all night. He had gone to school by himself in the morning, skipped lunch, and now, in the evening, no one was here to pick him up!
Was it true what his classmates said? That after his parents' divorce, no one wanted him anymore?
Alexander appeared at the school gate, dressed in a black trench coat. He stood in front of Adam, smiling gently.
"Are you Adam? Hello, I'm Alexander. I'm a friend of your dad. He's gone on a trip, so he asked me to take care of you for a few days."
Alexander squatted down, ruffled the boy's hair, and spoke softly, "Your dad said you like fried chicken. How about I take you to get some?"
Adam timidly nodded.
Alexander smiled and took the boy's hand, leading him toward the Base Cafe. Before leaving, he politely nodded to the elderly security guard.
There was something inherently trustworthy about Alexander, a natural aura that made people feel at ease.
At that moment, a tall woman in a red leather jacket and black boots stepped out of a car parked at the entrance.
"Hello, what's your relationship with this child?"
Alexander recognized the woman even though he had only met her once before. Despite the half-mask she had worn back then, he knew who she was.
It was Welma, the director of the Security Division.
