God Level Farmer In Another World

Chapter 46: Chapter 46: The Foreign Awakener

"H-he's my dad's friend," the little boy said, hiding behind Alexander and timidly glancing at the woman.

Welma looked at Alexander with a meaningful expression. "I overheard your conversation. What if he turns out to be a bad person? What will you do if you get kidnapped?"

Welma suspected that someone was backing Will; otherwise, how could he have killed so many D-rank Awakeners? And even a C-rank like Carlos?

Will had been tight-lipped throughout the night-long interrogation, so Welma decided to approach the situation through Adam.

Welma had been following Adam all day, waiting to see who would come to care for him now that Will was in custody.

Alexander placed his hand gently on Adam's small shoulder, a warm smile on his face. "His dad is a regular at our café. A few days ago, he gave us some money, asking us to take care of the kid for a while."

She stared intently at Alexander, searching for any hints on his face.

After a while, Welma finally spoke, "I quite like coffee myself. Your café isn't closed yet, is it?"

Half an hour later, at Old Oak Cafe.

Alexander sat at his usual spot with Adam next to him, devouring a piece of cake. Welma sat across from them.

Gently tapping her coffee cup with a spoon, she asked, "Are you the owner of this place?"

Alexander shook his head. "Just an employee. I happened to have the day off today."

Welma paused, her eyes scanning Alexander. "So, who's taking care of the child—you or the café?"

Alexander glanced at Adam, who was eating messily, his face covered in cream. He must have been starving.

He rubbed Adam's head, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Aside from me, all the staff here are young women. Only I can look after him."

Welma smirked. "So, you're a warm-hearted guy. No wonder you didn't even ask who I am before offering me a coffee."

Alexander's eyes brightened. "It's my pleasure to treat a beautiful lady like you. Mind if I add you on WeChat?"

He looked just like a boy trying to chat up a pretty girl.

"Sure," she replied.

A stunning smile spread across her crimson lips, making the crystal chandelier seem dim in comparison. She took out a pen from her pocket and wrote down her phone number.

"I have something to do, so I'll be leaving. I'll come by in a few days to check on the child. Don't go bullying him while his guardian is away."

Alexander nodded earnestly. "For you to care so much about a child you've just met, you must be a warm-hearted person as well."

Welma waved at Adam before leaving the café, her demeanor friendly, as if she had forgotten threatening Will with the child's life the previous night.

Once inside her car, her expression turned icy. She pulled out her phone and made a call.

"Did you find any information on that man?"

She had talked to Alexander for quite some time and laid several traps, but he had not fallen into any of them. His words and behavior were perfectly normal, just like an average high school graduate.

Logically, she should have dismissed her suspicions about Alexander.

However, the way the two female servers at the café looked at him didn't sit right with her. It was admiration and respect.

If Alexander wasn't the owner of the café, how could he receive such recognition from those girls?

Therefore, he was very likely a highly meticulous individual with a questionable background.

The appearance of such a dangerous criminal in Bluewater City was not good news.

On the other end of the call:

"Director Welma, we found him. His name is Alexander, and he's no ordinary person!"

Welma's face showed a hint of satisfaction. "Tell me."

"His name is Alexander, a top student from Bluewater High School. He's ranked first in the province for spiritual energy for three consecutive years, and he's only eighteen with spiritual energy at the seventh level!"

Welma's red lips parted slightly, her eyes full of astonishment. "The seventh level?!"

She was exceptionally talented, with high comprehension skills, yet at twenty-seven, she had only reached the eighth level of innate spiritual energy! Seventh-level innate spiritual energy? Working as a waiter in a café?

This deepened Welma's suspicions.

She suspected that both Will and Alexander were connected to some extraordinary power!

On the other end of the call:

"It's just... Alexander wasn't very lucky; he awakened the S-rank Farmer's talent."

Welma was stunned. Farmer's talent?

Her theory was instantly shattered. No extraordinary organization would recruit someone with a mere life skill talent.

After a long pause, Welma's tightly furrowed brows relaxed. She hung up and dialed Vincent's number.

"Vincent, starting tomorrow, send plainclothes officers to keep an eye on Old Oak Cafe. Report any unusual activities to me immediately."

Old Oak Cafe was located in the eastern district, falling under the jurisdiction of the Eastern Security Division.

"Vincent? Vincent? Are you listening?"

There was a long silence on the other end before Vincent replied, "I got it, sis."

Alexander sat alone by the café window, while Adam had been taken to a room upstairs to do his homework.

He hung up Vincent's call, his eyes gleaming with amusement.

Was Welma simply meticulous, or was her suspicion getting the better of her?

It didn't matter either way. By monitoring the café, Vincent was only helping Alexander relay the information he wanted to convey to Welma.

The downfall of the Black Dragon Gang was already sealed. Giovanni would easily handle the rest.

"In a few days, there will be a monster siege. Once those creatures are buried, there will be even more extraordinary plants to cultivate. Is it time to expand the Mercenary Guild to other cities?"

As Alexander pondered, the wind chime on the café's glass door jingled, and two blond, blue-eyed foreigners entered.

Lilin, standing at the counter, greeted them warmly, "Welcome! What would you like to order?"

The two foreigners, speaking in broken language of Base Country 3, ordered two coffees. However, their final words, spoken in a foreign tongue, brought a frown to Alexander's face.

Roughly translated, they were saying, "This waitress is beautiful. I wonder if she'd look even better in bed."

After ordering, they sat at the table next to Alexander's.

The two foreigners spoke loudly, perhaps assuming no one around could understand their language. They shamelessly filled the air with crude comments, boasting about how their lives had been great since coming to Base Country 3, and how many women were eager to throw themselves at foreigners.

Alexander shook his head. It was a sad sight.

For some reason, there were always some who idolized 'foreign masters,' fawning over them.

Whether male or female, these people seemed to think that gaining the favor of these 'foreign masters' was some kind of honor.

Some shameless individuals even believed that spending a night with these hairy creatures was a source of pride and something to brag about.

Lilin brought the coffee to the two foreigners. "Please enjoy."

Just as she was about to leave, one of the foreigners stopped her. The blonde one with a ponytail sneered, "Hey, beautiful, I ordered an iced Americano. Why is this hot?"

Lilin glanced at the steaming coffee, taken aback. "B-but I clearly brought an iced Americano."

The blonde ponytail smirked. "Lying isn't good, you know. This is clearly hot."

Lilin hurriedly replied, "Let me get you a new one."

She picked up the coffee, bewildered, and walked back to the counter.

She was certain she had brought an iced Americano. How did it become steaming hot?

Did she grab the wrong one?

The two foreigners leered at Lilin's back, their gaze moving up from her high heels, lingering on the sway of her narrow skirt, and snickering maliciously.
