Chapter 21: Chapter 21 Experience

April 25, 1985.

Law personally ended the life of a demon disguised in human skin.

There was a lot of luck involved in being able to win against Cook, and it was also a life-and-death gamble with his life at stake. If the Nen Ability he used could not accomplish the task, then it would have been Law lying lifeless on the ground at this moment.

Although Law's strategic planning and quick calculations were impressive, ultimately, it was Cook's arrogance and self-destructive tendencies that sealed his fate.

Arrogance was Cook's greatest blunder, followed by his obsessive psychosis.

He arbitrarily decided that Law would die from 'excessive blood loss' and he wanted to see the blood gushing out like a hot spring from Law's neck, so his target of attack was always Law's carotid artery.

During his monologue filled with unnecessary chatter, not only did Cook reveal his ability, but he also explained its origin, which gave Law enough information to create a counter-strategy and once again proved the truth that villains die because they talk too much.

These factors allowed Law to devise a trap for Cook to step into, a double-edged nature trap, with success meant survival and failure meant death.

Fortunately, Cook underestimated Law, otherwise, it would be difficult to win this battle where the weak triumphed over the strong.

If Law's foundation had been more solid, Cook might never have looked down on him in the first place.

'Thanks for teaching me a valuable lesson. Hmm... what was your name again? Cook? Whatever, you're already dead anyway." Law shook his head slightly. This battle had given him a lot of insights.

If Law were to ascend to the top in the future, Cook's role in sharpening his skills would not be forgotten.

Without dwelling further, Law quickly rushed to Machi's side, whose tense expression gradually relaxed.

Machi was stabbed in both legs and was thrown to the ground. She could only watch helplessly as Law faced Cook alone.

She had expected Law to struggle against Cook, but she didn't expect that Law would defeat Cook so quickly.

At that moment, Machi secretly hoped that Law would be able to steel his resolve and finish Cook off for good.

As a result, Law really complied with her expectations and killed Cook without hesitation.

This is the right choice when facing evil people, as kindness and mercy in this place would only invite endless trouble.

"Welcome to Meteor City."

Looking at Law running over, Machi suddenly said with a faint smile.

Law was stunned for a moment. It seemed that he rarely saw Machi smile, and she looked so cute when she smiled at this moment.

But…

Law walked up to Machi, raised his palm and gave Machi a hard chop on the forehead as he scolded, "Are you stupid? Why did you just let your wound bleed like this?"

After saying that, without waiting for her reaction, Law tore his sleeve into several strips of cloth and skillfully wrapped them around Machi's wound.

Due to limited conditions, he can't worry too much about things like disinfecting the wound.

"Don't worry about me for now, go check on Uvogin and Nobunaga." Machi rubbed her forehead with her hand, which now ached from Law's smack, and thought to herself, 'This guy doesn't hold back.'

"Let me finish bandaging you first. By the way, do you need me to grab your gas mask for you?" Law quickened his movements.

When being thrown out, Machi's mask was flung off, and so were Uvogin and Nobunaga.

The need to wear a gas mask in the landfill does not mean that the fumes in the landfill is very lethal, but that it will cause effective harm if inhaled for a long time.

"Yes." Machi nodded.

"Got it." After simply bandaging Machi's wound, Law ran to pick up her gas mask and helped Machi put it on, then ran towards where Uvogin and Nobunaga were.

Machi looked at Law's back and the corners of her mouth raised slightly.

'My intuition was right after all.'

....

When Law reached Uvogin and Nobunaga, he immediately checked on their condition.

Just at the first glance, he realized that the situation was far from optimistic.

"Fractured ribs? It would be troublesome if his internal organs were injured."

Law gently touched the slightly sunken area on Uvogin's chest, using minimal pressure to evaluate the extent of the injuries.

After getting a general sense of Uvogin's condition and confirming no more blood was leaking from his mouth, Law's tightly furrowed brow finally relaxed a little.

Afterwards, he used the same method to check on Nobunaga's condition and found that his injuries were more serious than Uvogin's, probably because Uvogin's physique was stronger.

'No wonder these two guys are so powerful after more than ten years. If an ordinary person is hit by a punch from a Nen User, even if they don't die, they will be gravely injured."

Law supported his chin with a serious expression.

'No matter what, these injuries need immediate medical attention. Uh... but this is Meteor City.'

Law rubbed his forehead in frustration and turned to look at Machi. He wanted to ask if there was a hospital on Meteor City, but he found that the other party was crawling across the ground toward him and his face darkened immediately.

"Are you out of your mind?"

Law stood up and walked briskly over to her side, his tone filled with exasperation.

"How are they?"

Machi ignored his scolding and immediately asked.

"Uvogin's condition is slightly better, probably because of his tougher body, but Nobunaga's condition is not optimistic."

Without waiting for her reply, Law picked up Machi directly, glanced at her thighs, where the makeshift bandages were already soaked with blood, and quickly carried her to where Uvogin and Nobunaga were.

Once there, Law slowly put Machi down and walked over to Nobunaga, hesitating whether to use the God Hand on Nobunaga.

'If I removed Nobunaga's ribs and organs, I'll get a clear view of his injuries. But if I couldn't put everything back properly, it will be awkward.'

"Send them to the church immediately." Machi said through gritted teeth as she sat on the ground.

"Church?" Law turned his head to look at Machi.

Machi explained: "The church in the middle of Meteor City is responsible for taking care of abandoned children and handle corpses. It's also the only place with medical equipment and doctors."

"The center of Meteor City? It will take almost an hour to walk there." Law glanced at Uvogin, who is lying on the ground, then looked at Machi's still-bleeding thigh, and was in a dilemma.

If he wanted to send Nobunaga to the church as soon as possible, he would have to leave Uvogin and Machi here while he carried Nobunaga there

Perhaps sensing Law's dilemma, Machi said seriously, "Take Nobunaga there first, then come back for Uvogin."

"But..." Law frowned. While it was the best course of action, leaving Uvogin and Machi here would make them vulnerable to further danger.

"Cough… cough…"

At this moment, Uvogin suddenly let out a heavy cough, which immediately attracted Law and Machi's attentions.

Law immediately walked to Uvogin's side and was surprised to see his eyes slowly opening, showing signs of waking up.

Moments later, Uvogin's eyes fully opened, revealing a look of confusion.

"Does it hurt anywhere?" Law asked immediately.

Uvogin shook his head slightly, then abruptly straightened his upper body, leaving Law no time to stop him.

Crack.

There was a slight sound of bones cracking, and then Uvogin's face twitched and his brows furrowed, as if he was in pain.

"..." Law couldn't say anything at this time, thinking to himself, 'Do you even realize your current state?'

"Where is that guy?" Uvogin endured the pain and his first question was about Cook.

"Dead. Your chest might have some fractured ribs. Don't move around too much." Law reminded, and added in his mind, 'This guy's a complete monster.'

"You killed him?" Uvogin looked surprised, then without warning, he stood up straight from the ground, completely ignoring his chest injury as though the blood in his mouth had been an illusion.

"Sigh…"

Seeing this, Law rolled his eyes. He decisively ignored Uvogin, and ran over to check on Nobunaga.
