Chapter 325

Chapter 325. When the Cherry Blossoms Fall

“It’s a miracle.”

The stern-looking doctor adjusted his glasses as he spoke.

Despite his appearance suggesting that he might be the type to proclaim, “Science is the only truth that governs this world,” he gazed at Ji Suho with an expression of awe.

“I’ve never seen a case like this before, so it’s hard to explain. This is a miracle. His vision is what we’d expect given that the surgery went well, but… this level of recovery is something we can’t quite comprehend.”

Of course, it’s inexplicable.

That’s because it falls under the realm of fantasy….

I bit back the urge to say, “If you want to understand it, your life’s genre might need a little shift, are you ready for that?” My extraordinary self-control was helped along by Lee Yugeon, who gripped my arm tightly, as if telling me to keep my mouth shut. I found myself wondering what kind of image Yugeon had of me to think I’d say something crazy to an unsuspecting Muggle like this.

It was Ji Suho who interrupted the doctor, who was going on and on about how remarkable this was.

“Haha, I guess I must have built up a lot of good karma. I’m just glad it turned out well.”

“No, no, this is beyond just ‘good karma.’ I’d even like to conduct some research on this if you’d be open to it…”

He had casually brushed it off as a miracle, but at the mention of karma, the doctor’s true feelings came pouring out.

Amidst all the complex medical jargon and explanations, the bottom line was that Ji Suho was perfectly fine. Although he would need some rehabilitation due to the extended coma, the recovery was much faster than expected.

It had already been three days since Ji Suho woke up.

He was regaining his normal life at a pace that was hard to believe, even for us.

“Ah, I’m rambling on. Take care of yourself and focus on rehabilitation for now. We’ll decide on the discharge after about a week. After all, there could still be some aftereffects.”

“Yes, thank you, Doctor.”

“I said it already, but even if you feel okay, you absolutely must not overexert yourself for a while. I understand this industry can be relentless, but nothing is more important than your life.”

“I’ve already applied for a leave of absence from the company. I plan to rest thoroughly during this time.”

“That sounds good. Well then, I’ll take my leave. Get some rest.”

The doctor, who had been subtly trying to position Ji Suho’s case as a subject for research, finally left the room with the medical staff. I couldn’t help but think that connections were truly invaluable, given how detailed and considerate the explanation had been—courtesy of Joo Eunseok’s network.

Despite coming prepared, I noticed a few people had recognized me and Lee Yugeon, casting glances our way. Having experienced these kinds of stares countless times in this hospital, I pretended not to notice, politely greeted them, and closed the door.

“Well, in any case, I’m glad you’re okay.”

“Yeah, I’m fine, so why do you keep coming here? Don’t you guys have work? No schedules?”

When I shrugged and spoke, Ji Suho laughed, asking with a tired expression. I pouted as I looked at the huge flower basket in the corner of the room with the words “Wishing you a speedy recovery. Will visit soon, haha” written in large letters.

“We’ll be leaving soon. Today, we’re here to help with Joo Eunchan’s discharge preparations and to give you an update on what’s been going on. Who sent this?”

“Oh, is Eunchan being discharged tomorrow? …That’s from Taeil. He’s in Europe right now. He must have heard I woke up and sent it over.”

“Didn’t the Enderway seniors send anything?”

“Of course they did. Look over there.”

Following Ji Suho’s gesture, I turned to see a large fruit basket on top of the refrigerator. A message card with a group photo of the Enderway members was attached to it.

****

“Those guys… Their personalities really don’t match their looks.”

Who would think of the Enderway members, notorious for their rebellious image, when looking at this?

I dragged over a chair and sat down a little distance from Ji Suho’s bed.

Regardless of how the two senior groups were portrayed, there was a reason I had come here today.

“…? Why are you sitting so far away? Come closer, there’s plenty of space.”

“Here’s perfect. You can’t reach me from here, and I’ve got enough space to dodge if you throw something.”

“What…? Yugeon, is it just me, or do you also have no idea what he’s talking about?”

“It’s not the first time, hyung. Just listen.”

What on earth am I to Lee Yugeon…?

As I fought back the odd feeling rising within me, watching Yugeon calmly tidy Ji Suho’s bedding, I reminded myself of why I had brought him here today.

It was time to settle the debt I had been slowly paying off with those pork belly wraps.

“What are you up to? You’re making me nervous.”

“I thought about letting this slide since you’d eventually find out after you’re discharged anyway, but I figured now’s the right time. You know, while you’re still weak and lacking energy, I should strike quickly and retreat.”

“Is that an insult…?”

Baffled by my cryptic words, Ji Suho turned to Yugeon for a translation, but Yugeon just continued securing the bed railing, saying nothing.

Once Yugeon had Ji Suho securely in bed, I took a deep breath and finally, timidly, revealed the purpose of my visit.

“I messed up, hyung.”

“What…?”

“…No way, not again…!”

Both Ji Suho and Yugeon’s faces paled at my bombshell.

But I didn’t stop and continued firing off the words I had prepared, like a machine gun.

“Dan Haru’s personalities are now mixed, and I died once at the villa in Namhae and came back. In the process, Yugeon and Doha realized they’re living their nth lives, and Jisoo-hyung also awakened, but I erased his memories because I thought the shock of his father’s death would be too much for him. But I think we’ll have more incidents like this in the future….”

“…….”

“Oh, and I revealed that Joo Eunchan is JDZ’s youngest son. We needed to explain the Seo Taehyun incident, so I kind of threatened PD Kwon and Ntv’s PD Choi, but we’ll probably be able to brush that under the rug. Ah, right, I also had a bit of a falling out with a journalist, but Wook-hyung seems to have handled that.”

“……….”

“What else…? Oh, we went to a pension in Gangwon-do and ended up working part-time? But… Anyway, Doha became a gambling ace, and I became a sales king. Cool, right? Tae Hyun was a bit upset, but after seeing the music video I edited, he cried his eyes out, so I think he’s calmed down. He’s pretty simple.”

“………….”

“And… Since we had some free time, we decided to start a national busking project with JDZ and Studio A? We did an English test review lecture at a girls’ high school recently, and PD Kwon is over the moon, thinking it’s going to go viral….”

I had hoped that if I spoke quickly enough, he might just brush it off with a “Oh, I see,” but as I talked, I realized how fun it was and got more and more into it. It was like a cascade of words.

I finally stopped when I noticed the suddenly chilly atmosphere in the room.

“…?”

I carefully looked up to check Ji Suho’s expression.

Then, I quietly prepared to make a run for it.

“What… did you do…?”

“…….”

“Died and came back…?”

“…Listen, there was a reason for that.”

“Gambling ace? Sales king? You threatened PDs and journalists, and ruined relationships?”

“…It was all under reasonable judgment….”

Ignoring my babbled excuses, Ji Suho’s eyes widened in shock as he seemed to muster strength from nowhere. Instinctively, I started to rise from my chair.

“How… How could you have caused so much trouble in just two months!?!?!?”

“Ahh! Yugeon!!! Hold him down!!!”

With Ji Suho bellowing like a demon, I bolted out of the room as fast as I could. I could see Yugeon barely managing to hold Ji Suho back as he tried to get out of bed and chase me down.

For a “patient,” he sure had an alarming amount of strength, shaking even Yugeon off as if this were some kind of horror movie.

‘If I get caught, I’m dead.’

Once Joo Eunchan is discharged tomorrow, I won’t come near this hospital for a while.

The emotional reunion from a few days ago was long gone.

* * *

Time passed quickly.

As Ji Suho returned to his normal life, the idol group ‘Kairos’ continued to move forward. With a comeback announced for six months after the release of in November, the Destis were eagerly preparing themselves, their wallets, and their energy for what was to come.

**[

What do you think the concept will be this time?????]**

They said it was going to be the Youth Trilogy, so it’s probably going to be school-themed again….

I hope it’s a sports theme, sports theme, sports theme, sports themeㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

Please just once give us a team of baseball boysㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

– Oh, sports is a good idea! I also wouldn’t mind a basketball or ice hockey themeㅋㅋㅋ But it’s May, so maybe hockey is a bit much

– I want them to fully embrace the school theme and go for something like a battle royale or horror, but it’s May, so I guess notㅋㅋㅋ

└ Battle royale would be amazing

└ Wow, I agreeㅋㅋㅋ I loved the year-end ‘Order or Madness’ version. It was totally my thing

**OMG they released the Youth Sniper spoiler!!!**

**It’s Jeonnam Haedang Girls’ High School, OMG OMG OMG**

**Here’s why I think our May comeback might be connected to the ‘Order or Madness’ universe**

**If you look at the scene with the hideout in the ‘Order or Madness’ MV teaser, there’s a bookshelf behind Chae-Dan with three books titled ‘Youth’ on it**

**[Summary of the Kairos Universe for New Fans (Long, but worth it!)**

Actually, the Kairos universe hasn’t been fully explained yet, so I’ve summarized the most popular theories based on what our genius fans have speculated from the MVs for ‘Over the Night’ and ‘This Is Not a Carol’.

– Main Universe or Setting: Parallel Worlds, Multiverse (some speculate time travel)

– Haru: The traveler who is aware of and moves between these parallel worlds or time-traveling

(At the end of the ‘Over the Night’ MV, Haru is seen reading a book with the title ‘Order or Madness’, and in the teaser, he’s writing in a diary (possibly recording the ever-changing world))

▶ The real-world version of Haru (the student at the end of ‘Over the Night’ MV = the band member in the ‘This Is Not a Carol’ universe) is aware of or travels through these parallel worlds, but may still believe it’s all just a story (based on some theories).

– Hajin: The leader who is bringing together the members across parallel universes and awakening them to this universe.

▶ There’s some debate about Hajin’s role, but the consensus is that he’s leading the members across universes and making them aware of the universe.

>> In ‘This Is Not a Carol’ MV, Hajin is the one who gathers the members and leads the rebellion in the auditorium.

– Eunchan: The second member to awaken to the universe’s secrets thanks to Hajin.

…..

There’s still a lot we don’t know, so we’ll have to wait and see, but the core of the Kairos universe seems to be the story of the members coming together across parallel worlds or multiple universes.

That’s why we have a mix of dark and grim content like the ruined world in ‘Order or Madness’ alongside bright, playful high school AU in ‘This Is Not a Carol’ and idol Kairos in ‘Again, Spring’!

And this year, they’ve announced the Youth Trilogy with three comebacks planned, including the May comeback, and it’s speculated that the concept will be related to this because of the three books labeled ‘Youth’ in the bookshelf next to Haru in ‘Order or Madness’.

I noticed some fans getting confused, so I put together this summary!!

– Wow, thanks for the effort! You’re amazing. Kiss kiss.

– OMG, I was so curious about thisㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ Thank you so muchㅠㅠㅠ I’m going to read it all

– You’ve earned yourself three freefall-prevention tokens!

– Now that I look at it, there was so much foreshadowing. As expected, those MiRo folks are crazy geniuses

As the Destis reminisced about past hints and speculated about new ones, they began to build up their anticipation.

With everyone’s attention and expectations high, wondering how Kairos would continue their momentum with this comeback, a new teaser for their second mini-album was finally released.

This happened on a rainy afternoon in April, just as the last cherry blossoms had fallen.

**- OMG, it’s here!**
