Haikyuu: Nekoma's Ace

Chapter 11: Tokyo Return

Nekoma's Return to Tokyo

The bus carrying Nekoma's volleyball team hummed softly as it rolled back toward Tokyo. The players were tired but energized by their first practice match against Karasuno. The match had revealed both their strengths and weaknesses, and the addition of Wakasa Kiyoshi, the promising first-year ace, had brought new dynamics to the team.

Inside the Bus

Kenma sat quietly in his usual spot near the window, his gaze fixed on his phone as he reviewed clips of the match he'd recorded. Beside him, Kuroo leaned back in his seat, a relaxed grin on his face.

"Well, that was a fun match," Kuroo said. "Karasuno's improved a lot, but they're still rough around the edges."

"They've got potential," Kenma murmured without looking up. "That quick attack was dangerous, but predictable once you figure out the timing."

"Still, we had our hands full," Yaku chimed in from a row ahead. "Especially with that Hinata kid. His jumps are insane."

"Yeah, but our new weapon handled himself well," Kuroo said, turning his attention to Wakasa.

Wakasa's Thoughts

Wakasa Kiyoshi sat silently near the back of the bus, his arms crossed and eyes closed. Despite his calm demeanor, his mind replayed every moment of the match, particularly the quick attack from Hinata and Kageyama.

"That attack... it's fast, but they rely too much on Kageyama's precision and Hinata's speed," Wakasa thought. "If we can disrupt their rhythm, we can neutralize it."

Kuroo's voice broke through his thoughts. "Hey, Wakasa. Not bad for your first big game with us. How's it feel?"

Wakasa opened his eyes and gave a small nod. "It was good. But I made some mistakes. I'll fix them before the next match."

"That's the spirit," Kuroo said with a grin. "You've got the mindset of a pro already."

Yamamoto turned around in his seat, grinning at Wakasa. "Man, your spikes were unreal! Even their libero, Nishinoya, struggled to handle them."

Wakasa gave a faint smile. "Thanks. But it's not enough to just be strong. I need to be consistent."

Kenma's Analysis

As the team settled into a quieter rhythm, Kenma glanced at Wakasa. "Your spikes were good, but you didn't vary your angles much. Against a team like Karasuno, they'll start to pick up on that."

Wakasa nodded, taking the feedback seriously. "I'll work on it. Anything else?"

Kenma shrugged. "Your serve is strong, but Hinata managed to receive it once. Next time, add more spin or change the pace. Keep them guessing."

Wakasa absorbed Kenma's words, already strategizing for the next practice.

Arrival at Nekoma's Gym

When the team arrived back in Tokyo, Kuroo called for a quick meeting before they headed home.

"Alright, everyone. That match was a good test for us," Kuroo began. "Karasuno's got potential, but so do we. We've got areas to improve, and we'll start working on them tomorrow."

He glanced at Wakasa. "Wakasa, you're fitting in well. Keep it up. But remember, Nekoma's strength is in teamwork. You're our ace, but you're also part of the web."

Wakasa nodded. "Understood."

Kenma added, "If we combine your skill with our defense, we'll be unbeatable."

Yaku clapped his hands, signaling the end of the meeting. "Alright, get some rest, everyone. Tomorrow, we'll push even harder."

Wakasa's Determination

As the team dispersed, Wakasa lingered in the gym, tossing a ball against the wall. His thoughts were focused and clear.

"That quick attack... it won't catch me off guard next time. I'll be ready," he thought, his grip tightening on the ball.Like anime it's really give oppents headedeck but seeing infront of him to real human perform this caught himself of gaurd.

For Wakasa, the match against Karasuno wasn't just a debut—it was the start of his journey as Nekoma's ace. He was determined to grow stronger, not just for himself, but for the team that had welcomed him.

The Battle at the Trash Heap was only beginning, and Wakasa Kiyoshi was ready to leave his mark.
