Happry Potter: The New Player

Chapter 46: Trouble in Slytherin and Beyond

Some Slytherin students sitting by the fire only watched as Goyle and Crabbe were hitting Malfoy.

"Goodness, what are they doing?" asked a surprised fifth-year student.

"I've had enough of him!" Evan yelled.

"Yes, me too," Harry responded loudly.

Both were furious. Evan kicked Malfoy again; suddenly, they dashed out of the Slytherin common room and ran to the third-floor bathroom.

"Evan, that was amazing! Make sure there's no one around," Harry smiled. "That's been the best Christmas gift I've ever had, hitting Malfoy on Christmas."

"The look on Malfoy's face, I wish I had taken a picture and put it in the newspaper," Evan said.

"But we were a bit impulsive," Harry said as the excitement subsided.

From brewing the Polyjuice Potion to impersonating Slytherin students and hitting Malfoy, everything is a serious breach of the school rules. If we get caught, we'll surely be expelled.

"Don't worry, no one knows we did it," Evan said, "in the eyes of others, it was Crabbe and Goyle who hit Malfoy."

"As long as we act normal, we should be fine..."

Harry suddenly stopped and said, "wait, we can't go back yet, Hermione is still in Snape's office."

"I almost forgot, we have to find a way to rescue her."

The two quietly approached the door of Snape's office, listening but there was no sound inside.

"I can't hear anything," Evan whispered.

"Maybe we can cause a commotion to make Snape come out," Harry suggested.

Just as he finished speaking, they realized they were reverting to their normal selves.

Time was running out, and the two were gradually returning to who they were.

It was horrifying, and what's worse, Hermione was still in Snape's office.

Thinking of Hermione transforming back in front of Snape's cold gaze was dreadful to imagine.

"No, there's no time!" Evan said as he kicked the door open.

Then they saw Snape sitting at his desk with a terrifying smile on his face and a vial of potion in front of him.

Hermione was sitting across from him, pale as the moon.

"Crabbe, Goyle, what are you doing here?" Snape glared at them menacingly.

"Professor, something serious has happened! It's Draco, someone has attacked him in the common room, he's lying on the floor covered in blood, and we don't know what to do," Evan exclaimed.

"Yes, you should go check on him," Harry added hastily.

"Attacked? You two idiots, why didn't you take him to the school infirmary?"

"WE...," Evan stopped, then panicked and said, "we weren't sure if it had anything to do with the two previous attacks."

Due to the dim light in the office, Snape didn't notice that Evan's face didn't resemble Crabbe's usual appearance.

"Wait here, watch over her until I return," Snape said, drawing his wand and rushing to the Slytherin common room.

"Let's go!" Harry and Evan said upon seeing Snape disappear, both grabbing Hermione and running.

"Thank you!" Hermione said, breathing a sigh of relief. "He threatened to give me Veritaserum if I didn't tell him the truth."

"Veritaserum?"

"Yes," Hermione nodded, "But he didn't, he probably suspected who I was, so he was just waiting for the effects of the Polyjuice Potion to wear off. But thanks to you barging in at that moment, the effects..."

"We'd better hurry back to the third-floor bathroom."

Harry felt his feet shrinking, so his shoes were now too big, and he had to hold up his robes as he ran.

Then he seemed to trip over something and fell heavily to the ground.

Evan and Hermione came to a stop, and in the dim candlelight, they could see what Harry had stumbled upon.

The two were left astonished.

"It's Justin, he's been attacked...!" Hermione brought her hand to her mouth to stifle a scream.

Before them, lay Justin on the ground, stiff and with a horrified expression. Scattered around him were the shattered remnants of the large mirror, glass fragments covering Justin's entire body.

Harry stood up and noticed Justin petrified on the floor.

Harry glanced hurriedly at each other, him with a terrified expression and a strange reddish hue.

The three of them were now utterly flabbergasted.

This was the worst possible scenario; the third attack had occurred, and they were the first to arrive at the scene once again.

What would people think if they saw them?

Imagine that Justin had a recent conflict with Harry in the Dueling Club, and there are rumors that Harry was planning an attack, and now he's petrified right in front of him. Especially, they had just donned the Slytherin uniform, so if anyone saw them, they would truly believe Harry was the heir.

But Evan wasn't sure if Snape would receive them well.

"Let's go, let's leave," Evan said anxiously.

"We can't just leave him here; we need to find someone to help us," Hermione insisted.

"Don't be foolish, Hermione. If we are present, could you not prove that Harry is not the culprit? Especially if we are wearing the Slytherin uniform. How do we explain it to others, that we just took some Polyjuice Potion and attacked Malfoy, that's all?"

"It's Christmas now; they may not find him for a while," Hermione hesitated.

"Don't worry, Snape will return soon and send Justin to the school hospital," Harry said reassuringly.

"But..."

"Don't worry, we need to change into our regular clothes if we want to help him."

After Evan finished speaking, he took Hermione's hand and began to run once more.
