70. Meow Meow Meow!?
Ling Ning’s new apartment wasn’t far from Ling Ye’s school, but she’d spent so much time arranging her things in the new place that by the time she got to her daughter’s school, classes were just letting out.
Watching the crowd of kids streaming by, Ling Ning felt a wave of nostalgia. She realized she was already past the age of skipping carefree, and just standing here reminded her that she was a “mom” now. She shook her head at the thought, finally spotting a little girl who seemed to recognize her.
“Ling Ye’s mom?” the girl asked, looking at her curiously.
Ling Ning nodded with a smile, and the girl pointed toward the playground. “I think she’s still playing over there.”
Playground? What could she be doing there after school? Ling Ning thought, puzzled.
After searching around the playground and still not finding Ling Ye, she started getting anxious. Could she have gone somewhere else? Just as she reached for her phone to call, she noticed a door to the sports equipment room standing slightly ajar.
Peeking through the gap, she saw two small figures lying on a gym mat in the dim light… kissing.
Wait, what? She squinted, half-suspecting her eyes were playing tricks on her. Inching closer, she could tell that one of them was Ling Ye, and the other—oh no—was Qin Sirou, her boss Qin Qing’s daughter.
Ling Ning was completely floored. Her daughter was in sixth grade, and now she was… kissing her boss’s daughter? Ling Ning’s mind spun, unable to make sense of what she was seeing. Were kids this young supposed to be doing… well, this?
She managed to pull herself back from her daze and quietly left the playground area. Her mind still swimming with confusion, she pulled out her phone and typed a post in a parenting forum: “My daughter just kissed my boss’s daughter. What should I do? Need advice ASAP! P.S. They’re both in sixth grade.”
Most responses she got were variations on “Following!” or “Pics or it didn’t happen!” Frustrated, she pocketed her phone and wondered whether she’d overreacted.
“Mom, what are you doing?” Ling Ye’s voice came from behind her suddenly.
Startled, Ling Ning turned to see her daughter staring at her curiously.
“Huh? N-nothing!” Ling Ning said, trying to hide her panic. She hurried to put her phone away, feeling flustered. “Did you, uh… have fun today?”
“Of course! What were you doing?” Ling Ye eyed her suspiciously.
“Oh, just… taking a walk.” Ling Ning forced a smile. She knew this wasn’t the right time to ask about what she’d seen, and she was afraid of getting an answer she wasn’t ready for.
They walked home together in silence, with Ling Ning still in a daze, going over what she’d just witnessed. She only came back to her senses when she reached the door to their old apartment building.
“Oh, Ye Ye, there’s something I need to tell you,” she said, finally gathering her thoughts.
“Meow, meow, meow?” Ling Ye replied playfully, imitating her mother’s tone.
“We won’t be living here anymore.”
“What?! Did that creepy landlord do something to you? I’ll go teach him a lesson!” Ling Ye exclaimed, picking up a loose brick from the ground.
“Wait, wait!” Ling Ning quickly restrained her daughter, then explained the situation, leading her away from the building as they walked toward the new apartment.
When Ling Ye found out they’d be moving to a new place, she looked thrilled. But then a thought occurred to her, and she asked hesitantly, “Did you remember to pack everything from my drawer?”
Ling Ning nodded confidently. “Of course! Mom packed every single thing.”
Oh no… Ling Ye thought. She’d hidden her prized “collection” in that drawer, including a certain USB drive labeled “TOP SECRET” and—worst of all—a particular pair of black-and-white bear-print underwear. If her mom had found that… her life might be over.
As if reading her daughter’s nervous expression, Ling Ning continued chatting about the perks of the new apartment, unaware of the turmoil in Ling Ye’s mind.

Arriving at the new building, Ling Ning felt a strange sense of accomplishment stepping into the lobby, seeing the clean, well-kept surroundings and the convenient elevator.
After showing Ling Ye around, she said, “I put all your books and things in the storage cabinet in your room.”
Ling Ye raced to her room and immediately checked the storage cabinet, relieved to find the USB drive safely hidden inside a hollowed-out book. But when she glanced at the balcony, she froze.
There, hanging out to dry, was the bear-print underwear. How had she found it?! Ling Ye felt her heart sink, imagining the questions her mother might ask later.
Over dinner, Ling Ning suddenly looked at her daughter thoughtfully. “Ye Ye, Mom wants to ask you something.”
“Eh?!” Ling Ye jumped, positive that her mom was about to ask about the underwear.
“Do you… have someone you like?”
Caught off guard, Ling Ye quickly replied, “Yes, I do!”
“Oh? Who is it?”
“It’s you, Mom! You’re the one I like the most,” Ling Ye replied, giving her mom a big, innocent smile.
“Uh… okay.” Ling Ning fell silent for a moment, as she had absolutely no experience dealing with her daughter potentially being yuri, and had no idea what to say.
Ling Ning sighed helplessly. Although she had kissed another little girl when she was young, that was probably just curiosity. Could her daughter also just be curious? Thinking this, Ling Ning decided not to say anything for now and wait to observe the situation for a while before making any decisions.
Seeing that Ling Ning wasn’t asking any more questions, Ling Ye secretly breathed a sigh of relief—getting away with it was good enough. However, Mom’s panda panties were now gone, which made Ling Ye’s heart ache. She’d need to find a chance to get a new pair of Mom-scented panties. Those new QB panties that Mom bought recently looked pretty good.
While eating, Ling Ning suddenly felt her panties tighten, and for some reason had an ominous feeling in her heart.
