It is a good thing that Voldemort's soul is far too gone at this point otherwise even in his spirit form he would have felt pieces of his soul being trapped in the gem.

Harry sets the gem aside and used his wand to cast detection spells on the newly soul free resurrection stone and diadem. After making sure that there is no more dark magic or curses on the two magical artefacts he was finally able to touch these two treasures.

Harry was taking a good look at the diadem when the portrait suddenly appeared beside him.

"A thing of beauty, isn't it? Rowena always had certain grace and elegance to her and that grace was always reflected in her every action, her magic and even in her creations." The portrait spoke with a straight face but Harry could hear the respect and admiration hiding underneath the casual tone.

The portrait might sometimes come off as a self-obsessed narcissist but from the journals, Harry knows that Slytherin always had great respect towards the other three Founders, even after their disagreements that respect didn't go away.

The diadem and the stone slowly rose from his hand and flew back into the sealed box, Harry waved his wand and changed the protective charms on the box, before the box was used to protect others from the artefacts now it is used to protect the artefacts from others. He even used the elder wand for the last charm so other than him no one else can open this box.

With this two of Voldemort's Horcruxes are already destroyed, now only the locket, cup, diary, Nagini remains. The cup is in the Lestrange vault, the diary is with the Malfoys and the snake will always be with Voldemort. Harry is only uncertain about the locket.

During the previous timeline, the locket was hidden in the Black family home due to the actions of Regulus Black. But this time Regulus Black didn't die, he was arrested after the war and got away using the imperious defence just like others.

So Harry is not sure whether the locket is still in the cave or is it still in the Black house and Regulus just survived the cave while stealing the locket. He is not going to suffer through that cave just to get a fake locket this time.

Harry turned to the portrait. "You made the locket, right? Is there a way to track its location? I don't even need the specifics just the general direction is also enough."

The portrait nodded "Ah yes my prized creation, I made that locket to allow my descendants access to my chamber but that's not all, this castle has no secrets to anyone who knows how to properly use my locket. As for tracking its location, I can do better than that I can directly call the locket here since it is connected to the castle and its wards."

With that, the space in front of the portrait flickered and with a crack of apparition the locket appeared.

"What!" Harry yelled "you were able to do that this entire time! What do you think we are doing here? Why didn't you do that from the beginning?"

"Well, you said the locket is Horcrux, as a painting I no longer possess the ability to seal such dark objects by myself. So I was just waiting for the right time so we can remove this taint from my prized creation together."

Harry opened his mouth but didn't say anything, he doesn't have the time to waste arguing with a painting.

He just took the locket and once again summoned the sword of Gryffindor. Harry spent months thinking of ways to steal the sword from the Headmaster's office. Even if he could get in there when Dumbledore and Fawkes were not in the office, the sorting hat would still tell Dumbledore that he took the sword.

Then one day Harry just accidentally summoned the sword in his hand, the portrait then explained to him that if the sword finds you worthy then as a descendant of Gryffindor you can summon the sword at any time.

This doesn't mean that everyone who was in House Gryffindor or any witch or wizard with a distant blood relation with Godric Gryffindor can just summon the sword. The wizarding world is so small when compared to the muggle world that after thousand years every pureblood and half-blood is very distantly related to at least one of the four founders.

This doesn't mean that everyone is their descendant, the only true descendants are those witches and wizards that have the family magic in their blood, that's why only the Gaunts were the true descendants of Slytherin until Harry's mother Lily became a witch and awakened the Slytherin family magic in her bloodline.

That's why Lily Evans is the only one in the entire Evans family with red hair and green eyes and how the entire Evans family magically doesn't notice Lily's different features. House Potter on the other hand has absorbed the Gryffindor family magic in their own Potter family magic when two houses merged.

But this doesn't mean Harry now has both Gryffindor and Slytherin family magic, no he only has Potter family magic and has the ability to speak parseltongue from his mother.

The Potter family magic was only able to absorb Gryffindor family magic because they both were pretty similar, they both provided a strong affinity for Transfiguration, more specifically Battle Transfiguration.

The Slytherin family magic is not compatible with Potter family magic so they won't mix, Harry has parseltongue because it is the result of a ritual and not family magic. There is the possibility that some of his siblings might have Slytherin family magic, but right now only two people who have Slytherin family magic is Voldemort and Lily Potter.

Harry took out the gem and sucked out the piece of soul inside Slytherin's locket by once again using the sword. By being a Potter Harry now has access to the only magical weapon that has the properties of basilisk venom. This is going to make things a lot easier for him.
