Chapter 19: Homework and Gryffindors
Cho Chang raised her hand and introduced, "Lee Jordan, third-year Gryffindor student and a well-known Quidditch commentator."
"Hehe, not that famous!" Lee Jordan grinned as he stepped into the carriage.
Cho Chang smirked, her expression as if to say, This is exactly what I mean — Gryffindors and their priorities. "You'd better ask someone else. I'm only a second-year, and this is Vizet's first year."
Lee Jordan hesitated for a brief moment, his cheerful demeanor faltering as his gaze lingered on Vizet. There was an unspoken unease in his eyes — likely a result of recognizing Vizet as the Obscurial from the Daily Prophet stories over the summer. But he quickly covered it up with a playful grin. "Cho Chang, I know you," he teased. "Last year, during the Quidditch match, Cedric missed the Golden Snitch because he got distracted by you!"
Cho Chang's face flushed red, and she coughed in embarrassment. "That's ridiculous! You must have the wrong person. I'm in Ravenclaw."
"No way!" Lee Jordan declared, grinning triumphantly. "You were even wearing this exact Tutshill Tornadoes jersey! I'd swear on my Umbra spider!" He brandished the small container holding the spider, as if to emphasize his certainty.
Cho Chang waved him off quickly, steering the conversation away from herself. "Regardless, we really can't help you with your homework. You'll have to ask someone else."
Lee Jordan sighed dramatically. "Fine. Mind if I hang out here for a bit? I'll wait for Fred and George to board — they might have their textbooks with them."
"Suit yourself," Cho Chang said casually.
Vizet tilted his head. "Fred? Fred Weasley?"
Lee Jordan perked up. "Yeah! Fred and George are my best mates. You know them?"
Vizet nodded. "The Weasleys helped me earlier this summer, so I've met them."
"That's brilliant!" Lee Jordan exclaimed, his enthusiasm returning. "Fred and George are legends. Oh, and wait until you see what they've been working on. They're always up to something fun — and slightly dangerous."
Then he grinned mischievously, holding up his spider's container, he asked again "Speaking of fun, have I mentioned my Umbra spider? Its venom is incredible — it causes instant swelling! I brought it all the way from Africa. Want to try touching it?"
Vizet stared at the spider, unimpressed. "You're offering people a chance to touch your spider as a reward for letting you copy their homework?"
Lee Jordan nodded seriously, missing Vizet's skeptical tone entirely. "Of course! This spider is rare! Magical venom like this isn't easy to come by."
It suddenly became clear to Vizet why no one had agreed to lend Lee Jordan their homework. He fought the urge to laugh but couldn't hide his amusement.

Once Lee Jordan discovered that Vizet was a mutual friend of the Weasleys, his demeanor immediately became more relaxed, the faint trace of wariness disappearing. Eager to pass the time, he began introducing Vizet to the four Hogwarts houses in his typical enthusiastic style.
"Gryffindor, of course, is the best house!" Lee declared proudly. "Did you know Dumbledore himself was a Gryffindor? Greatest wizard of our time, no doubt about it."
"Ravenclaw's not bad either," he added, giving Cho Chang a teasing glance. "They're brainy and have the best accuracy when it comes to homework."
"Hufflepuff? Friendly bunch, but their food supply is ridiculous. Honestly, they always seem to have snacks — where do they even get it all? Oh, and Cedric Diggory? Total charmer."
"Slytherin, though…" Lee Jordan's tone turned sour. "Absolute worst house. You-Know-Who came from Slytherin, you know. They'll do anything to win the House Cup. And their Head of House? He's a total point-deduction maniac."
"Why call him You-Know-Who?" Vizet asked bluntly. "His name is Voldemort, isn't it?"
The temperature in the compartment seemed to drop. Both Lee Jordan and Cho Chang stiffened, their eyes wide with alarm.
"That's not funny," Lee Jordan muttered, swallowing hard. "He's the most dangerous Dark wizard in history."
"I heard he killed enough people to form an army of Inferi," Lee added, his voice dropping to a whisper.
Vizet frowned, unfazed. "Is he really that much worse than Grindelwald? I thought Grindelwald was supposed to be incredibly powerful too."
Lee Jordan shrugged. "That was ages ago. Dumbledore defeated Grindelwald, so we don't need to worry about him anymore. That's why Gryffindor's the best — our Headmaster's a legend!"
Cho Chang, who had been quietly polishing her broom, chimed in, "If you're curious about Grindelwald or Voldemort, you should read A History of Magic or Modern Magical History. They have more detailed accounts."
------------------------------
By half-past ten, Lee Jordan, parched and desperate, had resigned himself to attempting his neglected homework.
"Repair spell… It's spelled R… R-something? Repari? No, wait, Repari! It's a spell to repair stuff… but who invented it in England? I've read about this somewhere…"
Cho Chang buried her head in a book titled The Origin of Quidditch, her shoulders trembling as she stifled laughter. Every so often, she let out a soft giggle, barely able to contain herself.
Vizet, meanwhile, casually accessed the extensive library of books stored in his mind, specifically searching through Standard Spells, Level Three. For him, navigating the texts in his mental library was as straightforward as running a keyword search on a computer.
The Standard Spells series spanned seven volumes, each corresponding to a year of Hogwarts' spell classes. Vizet had meticulously memorized all seven volumes during his visit to Flourish and Blotts, knowing they would be invaluable.
With calm precision, Vizet recited, "Mr. Jordan, the spell is 'Reparo.' The full explanation would be: 'A spell that can be used to seamlessly repair most broken objects.'"
Lee Jordan's face lit up as if he had found a life raft in the middle of a stormy sea. He clutched Vizet's shoulder in gratitude. "Wait — you're sure?"
"Is the book you left behind in Africa! Standard Spells, Level Three?"
"Yes, yes! This is it!"
Vizet nodded. "When I was buying my first-year textbooks, I saw this on the shelves and thought it looked interesting. So I decided to buy it and ended up memorizing it."
"Memorized it? Are you serious?" Lee stared at Vizet like he had just sprouted wings. "Are you sure you've never met You-Know-Who? This feels suspiciously... genius-level."
"When you read the question just now, it jogged my memory," Vizet said matter-of-factly. "If you don't trust me, you can confirm the answer with Fred and George when they get here."
"Nah, I'll test it myself!" Lee Jordan declared, grabbing a tissue from his pocket. He tore it into several pieces and pointed his wand at the shredded tissue. "Reparo!"
The tissue slowly began to knit itself back together, though it wasn't seamless. Encouraged, Lee continued practicing the spell, trying to perfect it. After over ten attempts, the tissues held together in one piece, albeit slightly wrinkled.
"Brilliant! Absolute genius, mate!" Lee slapped Vizet on the back, beaming. "You're a lifesaver! Help me with the rest of this blasted paper, will you?"
Vizet smirked but didn't protest. The charm of Lee's enthusiasm and chaotic energy was undeniable, even if it came at the cost of having to help with his homework
