___

After reuniting with Gray, Roy and his group began searching Galuna Island to locate the site where the mysterious ritual was being held.

It didn't take long for them to find an abandoned temple at the center of the island.

Since the ritual was meant to harness the power of the moon, the temple was completely deserted during the day.

As they walked through the corridors, an icy chill seeped into their bones, emanating from the temple's depths.

Roy, having grown stronger, was unaffected by the cold, but Lucy couldn't help but shiver and move closer to Roy for warmth.

Natsu, being a fire magic user, hated the cold but felt no physical discomfort, his body fueled by the boiling magma-like blood within him.

As for Gray, an ice magic user, the chill didn't bother him at all.

However, Gray's brows furrowed deeply as he sensed something eerily familiar about the cold. An uneasy feeling crept into his heart, though he said nothing and simply followed Roy and the others deeper into the temple.

---

At the temple's heart was a massive block of blue ice, exuding the bone-chilling cold the group had been feeling.

Inside the ice was a massive, indistinct shadow that resembled a demon.

In front of the seemingly eternal ice stood several individuals.

A man clad in a coat and wearing a partially covering helmet stood at the forefront.

Beside him was a hunched, diminutive figure wearing a demonic mask.

Behind them were a pink-haired twin-tailed girl, a short man in martial arts attire, and a dog-headed humanoid.

The masked elder gazed at the magical array above the ice, which continuously produced drops of lunar essence. With a reverent tone, he said to the helmeted man beside him,

"Emperor Zero, there's less than half an hour until the absolute freeze completely melts. Your long-awaited wish will finally come true today."

The man referred to as Emperor Zero ignored the masked elder, his eyes fixed intently on the ice before him, a glint of fanaticism in his gaze.

Seeing this, the masked elder sneered inwardly, thinking,

"You really think you're something, don't you? If I didn't want to see Uru's disciple destroy what she sacrificed her life for, I wouldn't have wasted time on a nobody like you. I could crush a hundred of you with ease."

In truth, the masked elder was none other than Ultear in disguise.

Three years ago, disguised in this form, Ultear had manipulated Lyon—now calling himself Emperor Zero—into transporting the ice sealing Deliora from the northern continent to this island.

Night after night, she orchestrated rituals to collect lunar essence, using it to melt the ice encasing Deliora.

Ultear's goal was simple: to desecrate her mother Uru's sacrifice.

Watching Uru's disciple destroy what she gave her life for would bring her immense satisfaction.

This was Ultear's twisted revenge against her mother.

Under normal circumstances, Deliora would still have three more days before breaking free. Ultear had originally planned to witness Lyon trample on Uru's sacrifice and then deal with him personally.

However, the unexpected arrival of Gray—another of Uru's disciples—forced her to adjust her plans. She used her magic to accelerate the unsealing process.

Ultear wanted Gray and Lyon to confront each other during Deliora's resurrection.

In her mind, there could be no greater desecration of Uru's sacrifice than to have her two disciples and the demon she died to seal all clash in the same arena.

The thought of such a scene made Ultear want to laugh out loud.

---

Deliora was a demon from Zeref's book.

Ten years ago, Deliora wreaked havoc across the northern continent before being sealed by a powerful ice mage who used the forbidden Absolute Freeze spell at the cost of her own life.

That ice mage was Uru, a beautiful and strong woman.

To protect her disciples' smiles and lives, hoping they would grow up happily, she sacrificed herself to seal away the darkness in their hearts.

But today, Uru's sacrifice would be desecrated.

And the ones desecrating it were none other than one of her disciples and her beloved daughter.
