READ NOVEL ONLINE Chapter 12: Climbing Up (1/2)
Just a few steps and the summit was visible... From the bottom of the volcano, "How tall is this?" Vexalia asked Fi, "As that is not revelant information, I have not been given that knowledge." The spirit responded, much to Vexalia's non existant delight.
"Anyway... Goddess Cube." Vexalia said, seeing the ornate cube ion the distance and hit it with light sending it skyward, "Why not just give me the reward here?" She muttered as she walked back a bit and followed the only possible path there.
As she walked, fire started spewing from a hole in the rock wall that outlined the passage, "What the fuck!?" She exclaimed at the seemingly fire breathing wall, "That is a Pyrup, they like hiding in narrow spaces to do ambushes." Fi explained what was going on.
With that Vexalia had an idea, she grabbed a bomb flower and rolled it into the hole in the wall, causing the pyrup to explode, "if only all monsters were that easy." She commented, starting her walk to the top again.
Along the way, it was easy to figure that there was another pyrup, but hiding in a skull, "Is there an infestation?" Vexalia asked Fi, "That is honestly a higher possibility than you'd think." She responded as Vexalia tossed a bomb at the skull.
Walking forward, Vexalia found a bridge made out of a ribcage and a small crack leaking lava, "...Maybe..." She wondered, picking a nearby bomb flower and rolled it over the bridge, to the crack, and it exploded, causing lava to flow out in a stream, but it soon after ran out.
Going to the other side of the bridge brought Vexalia back to where she foud the Goddess Cube earlier, but the lava lake near it dried due to the bomb, allowing her to jump down a hole in the wall to a cave system, and during the fall, she noticed a Goddess Cube on top of a rock pillar, but also a chest on a ledge.
So to avoid stuff, she landed on the ledge to get the chest, opening it she found a piece of ore, "Eldin ore, one of the strongest materials on the surface." Fi explained, prompting Vexalia to pocket it, then she jumped over to the pillar and managed to grapple to the side of the pillar with her claws and climbed up to the Goddess Cube and struck it.
Looking down, it looked safe so Vexalia jumped down and began following the path, running into another mole person, surrounded by monster, "H-hey fella! Can you deal with these red jerks!? I'll reward you for it!" He offered, making the monsters turn to Vexalia, "Yeah! It better be fucking worth it!" She warned the guy as she pulled out her sword and shield.
Leaping forward, Vexalia swinged her shield in a monster's face and the twirled slightly to cut it at the nape, rendering it immobile, next she turned to three other monster that were ganging up on here and she jumped and did a roundhouse kick to knock all three of the monsters down and landing on ones neck and rushed forward with the sword pointing down to cut the other twos eyes.
As that happened, another monster jumped Vexalia and managed to get a clean cut in her shouder that went down to her side, her arm hanging like a bad slice of bread, "Ow..." She let out, "Your arm is almost off and you say ow!?" The mole guy exclaimed.
Vexalia responded at the damage by sheathing her sword, grabbing the blade in her shoulder and pulled it out, throwing the monster away in the process, blood started gushing out at the blockage having been removed, but Vexalia didn'g care as she pulled her shoulder to her body and let it regenerate, "I had worse." She said, not noticing the horrified looks she was getting, the monsters even started running away in terror.
"...Well... I guess you got rid of them." The mole guy said, handing two gloves to Vexalia, "These are great at digging for treasure." He explained before burrowing away, "Not bad..." Vexalia commented, looking around the area to spot a point that seemed to have been dug previously.
Digging in it resulted in the aquisition of a few rupees and a piece of eldin ore, which she pocketed quickly, then by looking around, she found a ledge and after climbing to it she found a chest, containing another piece of ore.
Running back, Vexalia took another path that led to a maze, walking around and climbing over some holes housing pyrups, ending up finding some buried rupees and another mole guy that had nothing useful to say.
After a while though she did find an updraft that she rode to the surface, where there was a bridgeless bridge, "Great, is there another path I can take?" She asked Fi, but then noticed that a bridge was coming out of the other side, "Hey you!" She heard someone call out from the top of the bridges tower.
"Hero chosen by the Goddess, Zelda is ahead... Hurry." A woman Vexalia did not recognize informed, and then went away, "...Who was that?" Vexalia questioned Fi, "Analisis could not be completed so recognition is incomplete." Fi excused herself.
Vexalia sighed as she crossed the bridge, looking up, she put her hand on her sides, "Halfway left..." She commented, bracing herself for the rest of the climb.
