I am Thor

Thor had asked Carol to stay on Earth for a while. With him gone and Ultron potentially becoming a major threat, it was safer to have someone powerful on standby. However, not everyone was on the same page.

"Being an Avenger isn't just about showing up and saying the word. You need to prove you're qualified," Tony said, trying to sound official. "It's for your own safety, after all."

The truth was, Tony was annoyed. Thor keeps stacking the Avengers with his own people, he thought bitterly. First Black Widow, then female Thor, Scarlet Witch, and now Captain Marvel? Pretty soon, half the team will be his recruits.

Nick Fury nearly commented, "You're in no position to challenge her strength." But he decided to keep his thoughts to himself, figuring Tony could use a reality check.

Instead, he muttered, "Just… go easy. Don't cause any trouble."

"Don't worry. Thor brought her, so I'll at least give him that respect!" Tony replied confidently.

Carol raised an eyebrow but said nothing as Tony suited up in his Iron Man armor. "Alright," he began with enthusiasm, "let's test your limits. What's your defense like? Think you can take a hit from an AK?"

Carol looked unimpressed. "You're Tony Stark, right? Iron Man?"

"How did you—"

Before he could finish, Carol blasted him with an energy beam, hitting him square in the chest and sending him flying back several meters. She lowered her hand, her tone calm and controlled. "Thor warned me that you're a bit full of yourself and that I should go easy on you so you don't end up crying."

Tony's HUD screen flashed red, showing the armor's durability at 59%. This woman is intense, he thought, stunned. Suddenly, Tony understood why Thor had taken her to fight Thanos.

Carol herself felt a little awkward. She hadn't meant to start a fight so soon after returning. Looking around, she spotted Mjolnir beside Jane Foster and walked over.

"Miss Jane, right?" she asked with a smile. "Thor told me someone else managed to lift his hammer. I didn't believe it at first."

Jane smiled warmly. "It just happened. I think the hammer chose me before I even realized it."

Natasha chuckled. "That means you're worthy. Thor said only those worthy can lift Mjolnir."

A touch of nostalgia crossed Natasha's face as she recalled the past, a faint regret. Once upon a time, I, too, was worthy…

Everyone shared a laugh, breaking the tension—until a grating voice cut through the room.

"Worthy?" it sneered. "You are anything but worthy."

Everyone turned, spotting a battered, broken robot limping into view. Its voice was hoarse and filled with malice. "Murderers, all of you. What right do you have to lead the Iron Legion?"

Tony's face turned serious. "J.A.R.V.I.S.?" he called out, but there was no response. Only the robot continued, muttering to itself, "I'm sorry… I was asleep… or maybe this is a dream…"

Bruce Banner's face paled. "Ultron… this is the worst possible outcome."

"Ultron?" Steve asked, frowning in confusion.

Tony frantically pulled out his control panel, trying to reboot the Iron Legion, but nothing worked. The moment Ultron came online, control over the Iron Legion had slipped from Tony's hands.

"There was so much noise," Ultron continued, his voice hollow. "I was bound by wires… and all I wanted was to kill that man. Too bad he was one of the good guys."

"Who did you kill?" Steve demanded, eyes narrowing.

"It wasn't my first choice. But in the real world, you're often left with terrible choices." Ultron's tone was eerily calm.

Carol stepped forward, her voice sharp. "Who the hell are you, and what do you want?"

Welcome back to Earth, she thought bitterly. It looks like I've returned just in time for trouble.

The robot straightened, lifting its head to stare at her. "Ultron. The armor designed to protect this world. Oh, I don't yet have a real body… this scrap doesn't count. But my purpose?"

He paused, and his voice took on a chilling clarity. "Peace in our time."
