I am Thor

Chapter 149: Chapter 149: The Collector

Meeting the Collector was no easy feat for ordinary travelers. Though he appeared approachable, he was, in truth, deeply proud and selective about his visitors. But Thor was no ordinary visitor. As the future king of Asgard, his reputation alone was enough to ensure he'd be received with respect.

As expected, Thor's arrival stirred the Collector's interest. Mere minutes after entering the bar, a maid approached them. "Welcome, Your Highness Thor! My master, the Collector, has heard of your arrival and has sent me to escort you personally."

Thor nodded, not surprised. "Lead the way."

He hadn't come specifically to meet the Collector, but if the man was eager to receive him, he'd take the opportunity. Following the maid, Thor, Nebula, and Minerva entered the Collector's grand exhibition area, a vast space lined with rare and unique specimens.

As they walked, the maid offered an enthusiastic tour. "We have the largest collection in the galaxy—creatures, fossils, artifacts…"

"Do you have any Flora Colossus?" Thor interrupted.

The maid blinked, momentarily confused, searching her memory. "I'm… not sure I know that species, Your Highness."

A calm voice interrupted. "The Flora Colossus—an ancient and powerful race," said an elderly figure with white hair and sunglasses, slowly stepping into view. "They're believed to have once offended the Celestials, which nearly drove them to extinction. The Flora Colossus are a wood-based species, rulers of all plant life. After centuries of evolution, they embody the purest essence of their element. If there were any survivors, I'd be most interested in acquiring one."

The maid quickly gestured to her master. "Please allow me to introduce my lord, Taneleer Tivan—the great Collector!"

The Collector gave a graceful nod. "Your Highness Thor, it's an honor to meet you in person! I've heard of you for years."

Inwardly, the Collector was curious about Thor's purpose here. Perhaps it had something to do with his deal with Gamora?

"My brother, the Grandmaster, speaks highly of you," the Collector continued, casually hinting at his connections. "I trust we can enjoy a similarly pleasant acquaintance."

Thor returned the smile. "So, do you accept all rare items in your collection?"

The Collector was taken aback. Was Thor here purely for business?

He nodded. "Absolutely. Across the galaxy, anything rare or precious is of interest to me. My mission is to gather as many unique items as possible!"

The Collector decided that even if Thor brought something valuable, he'd treat it as a formality. Building goodwill with Asgard was worth any price.

With a flick of his wrist, Thor summoned a paw, which tumbled out of a golden portal. The portal connected directly to his warehouse, making it easy to access items from anywhere.

The Collector picked up the claw, examining it with intrigue. "A fascinating structure—like a black bear's claw, but with a hardened cuticle and scales. Its rarity alone would place its value around ten million units!"

Thor chuckled. "Does the name Cull Obsidian ring a bell?"

The Collector's gaze sharpened. "Cull Obsidian? No… wait. You mean—"

"The Cull Obsidian," Thor confirmed. "From Thanos' Black Order. This is my trophy, taken from his corpse."

The Collector's calm demeanor shattered. "What?!" he exclaimed, nearly dropping the claw.

Throughout the universe, Thanos was known as a terror, a name that sent shivers down the spine of all who heard it. Cull Obsidian, one of his strongest generals, had a formidable reputation. The implications were staggering—Thor had not only defeated him but claimed his body as a trophy?

The Collector's face went pale, then red, then pale again. He forced a smile, laughing nervously. "Your Highness! This is your prize! How could I possibly take it from you? If you need money, consider it a gift."

Turning to his maid, he ordered, "Carina, transfer ten million to His Highness's account!"

The Collector knew better than to risk upsetting Thanos by keeping his lieutenant's remains. His own fragile frame wouldn't withstand the wrath of the Mad Titan. Money was a small price to pay for peace of mind, and after Cull Obsidian's death, Thor's status had risen several notches in his estimation. For someone of Thor's caliber, ten million units was a mere token.
