Chapter 4: Birth of gods 2
The gods were surprised, none of them would ever expect a being created by them to be able to contain such a magnitude of power. This living being, named Gallad, created by n°4, was even more surprised. Since he was absorbing the energy of the sphere that created his Lords....
"wait, why does this guy, Galombo or whatever his name is, have a name unlike the primordial gods??"
"first, more respect to lord "Gallad", he was the first being like you...and like me...now let me continue..."
"Bone. You mean..."
"yes, the Sphere, in its attempt to stop the war between the Great One and number 7 selected a living being created by the gods."
"ah, understood...and why did you say that this Gallad is a being like you?"
"because, like you, I was once an inhabitant of a universe created by another god. When I died and spun the wheel, I was selected as a god, that was about 115 million years ago, now as I was saying..."
"but how does it create new gods? so the roulette is an extension of the Sphere? wasn't the Sphere supposed to explode and rebuild itself leaving energy behind and thus form the gods? Doesn't the fact that it selected an entity not created by it, and gave it power, contradict everything you have explained to me? Then how did you..."
"Okay, okay, enough with the questions!!!! If you let me continue they will all become clear to you, okay?"
"Okay, go ahead."
"Ahem. Where did I leave off, a, yes, with Mr. Gallad?"
Orion continued the story, Gallad was supposed to have been selected as a god by the Sphere, the 10 primordial gods were surprised and at the same time confused, they had no knowledge as to why the Sphere selected a mortal, a being created by them to be a god.
No one knew anything except Gallad himself, the energy contained, besides power, vast information as to why he was selected as a God and what his purpose was, so raising his voice over the entire universe he declared the following words.
"my lords, the great sphere has sent me a message, cease your senseless battle. this is not what you were created for. the mission of the gods is to create new life, not to destroy it. do you not see the destruction you have caused? If the war had not stopped, you would have destroyed this entire plane, taking with you all these new Essences, practically your children, lost forever in oblivion. I have been given the task of watching over them, keeping their essence intact, so that they may continue to exist, even in death. My name, given by the Spher, is Gallad and today I become the first god focused on Life and Death!!!".
All the gods were stunned, the Spher, the same one who only created them and never told them why, selected a mere mortal to be the first god to be named? Numero 7 was furious, in an attempt to attack the newly appointed god of life, he moved towards him with his hands glowing with dark energy. Gallad was unprepared and Numero 7 believed it would be his victory. Until Great One stepped in, blocking the blow that would have been devastating to a novice god.
The other gods were still debating what to do next when they were interrupted by the shockwave produced by Numero 7, at which point they put aside their bickering and focused on stopping the out-of-control god. Finally, Great One along with the other gods focused their divine energy momentarily sealing Numero 7 to calm him down.
Once the fight was over, they proposed the idea of each one creating their own universe, thus avoiding clashing with the ideas and mentalities of the others, everyone, including numero 7 agreed. Some time later, Gallad, with the help of Great One and number 3, managed to focus the will of the Sphere in what we know today as the roulette, thus giving the option that each essence, once its mortal life was over, could reincarnate again.
"Okay. I more or less understood the story of how these gods were generated, but that doesn't explain how roulette has so many new species, nor why it's so rare for one to become a god."
"for the new species thing is easy. every 500 years, a competition is held between gods to show what new species they created, and through a ranking of points, the winner has the right to put his species on the roulette wheel. Once put the new species on the roulette these will generate in every existing universe."
"So, when you said that you did not create the demons, you meant that another God created them At the time of the competition and won?"
"Yes, it was God Vishnu. We were both competing to see whether my angels or his demons would win. Needless to say, I lost that confrontation, and to this day he keeps bringing it up in my face, that how his demons are better than my angels"
"yaaa. And for the births of a god...?"
"Usually, every so many million years, the roulette selects a mortal soul to become a new God, that brings about a new era of changes. there are 2 Options. on one hand, this newbie God has the option to stay in the universe where he was born becoming a kind of helper for the God of that universe, these are called "Celestial Assistants"."
"pffft"
"What are you laughing at, you think that's a bad name?"
"Hahahaha, no, it's just that I find it hard to believe that gods would rather become assistants."
"Don't believe it either. believe it or not there are many gods who prefer that, it's for the following reason, and stop interrupting me."
"Sorry, sorry."
"The second option is to choose to create a universe of your own, usually novice gods not knowing how to use their abilities decide to spend a few millennia with their "boss gods" to gain experience. Once they have gained enough experience. They will decide whether to create their own universes to prove their worth, or stay as an assistant. And the last birth of a god was barely a decade ago, do you understand what that means?"
"Ehhh no. remember I'm new to all this."
"well that means what you are an anomaly, since practically the God position you are using now. it should have gone to someone else a few billion years in the future...but well who am I to judge the Sphere. sorry Zandor. you got to be a God"
"that's okay Orion, but why are you apologizing if being God is cool, isn't it?"
"Actually it's not that cool, if I remember correctly in your world there was a sandbox game where you created your own civilization, you did play it once didn't you?"
"I played it, although I didn't like it very much, as it had very clunky mechanics and they never fixed them, but other than that I thought it was a decent game, but what does that have to do with this now?"
well imagine this is like that game, only a thousand times more complicated. on one hand, you have to create your own plane of existence where your universe will go, then you will have to create the planets and stars. after all that process, you can start creating life. and don't think it's easy, do you know how long it took the primordial gods to create the first life form?
"no"
"well it took about 3 to 5 eons, and there were 10 gods."
wow it seems that being God is more complicated than I thought. I thought with a simple snap and boom, let there be light. I kind of get why newbie gods decide to stick with their boss gods. but I don't like having someone superior to me, especially now that I'm a God, and I've always liked challenges so I think I'll go for the option of creating my own universe.
"Ahhh, I knew you were going to say that, and here I thought I was finally going to have a celestial assistant..."
