I Have a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon System in a World with Pokemons

"Intruders! Get out of here!"

Just like every Pokemon in the dungeon that Dante and Pikachu met, the first words that came out of Azumarill's mouth was to drive them out of this dungeon. 

What is different from the others, however, is that he continued to stand guard in front of the struggling Marill instead of directly attacking the two of them. 

"G-get out of the way, Azumarill! I can handle these two myself."

Instead of saying a word of thanks, the Marill pushed Azumarill aside after standing up and readied himself for a battle once more. Azumarill from the side didn't say anything as if he was used to it, instead, he just prepared himself for battle.

Dante's eyes narrowed when seeing this scene. Shiny Pokemon are highly valued in the human world due to their uniqueness and rarity. Conversely however, in the wild, most Shiny Pokemon are shunned by their own group due to being different from the rest.

The battle began with Marill firing a Water Gun at Pikachu. Pikachu, who had no such complicated thoughts as Dante after seeing the Shiny Azumarill, acted according to the tactic. Easily dodging the Water Gun fired by the already weak Marill, he used Electro Web with a size big enough to hit both the Marill and Azumarill.

Dante also shook off all his complicated thoughts at this moment and prepared for battle. Being responsible for close combat, he had to be very careful every time he faced a Pokemon from the Azurill line due to their higher attack.

Pikachu's Electro Web caused Marill to faint, so Dante only had to focus on attacking the slowed Azumarill. 

"Hey, what do you think about leaving this dungeon? The outside world is very beautiful, you know? There's a clear blue sky above, green grass everywhere, friendly Pokemon, and many fun things to do."

Dante began trying to do a sales speech to Azumarill while dodging his attacks. Pikachu, who was getting ready to release a Thunder Shock, stopped after hearing Dante's words.

"Look, Marill wasn't even grateful to you even when you tried to save her. Pokemon outside will be much more friendly towards you."

"Shut up, outsider!"

Azumarill, who was too slow to hit Dante back, suddenly used Aqua Jet and escaped towards the pool of water.

Dante was surprised. He didn't think Azumarill would escape by himself after coming out to protect Marill in the first place. He hurriedly used Shadow Sneak, planning to emerge from Azumarill's shadow and stop his progress.

However, when he came out of the shadows, what greeted him was Azumarill who had already stopped using Aqua Jet. The two of them are currently on the other side of the room, just next to the deep pool of water. 

Azumarill was also surprised to see Dante suddenly behind him. However, this didn't stop his plan of action. In fact, his plan was reliant on Dante following him. 

Gathering energy at his feet, he suddenly stomped on the ground. The whole floor began to shake, and everything within a certain range of Azumarill was attacked by Ground type energy.

Dante, who was standing near, suffered direct damage from the attack. His whole body felt pain and his mind began to buzz.

In the Team Menu, his HP in the menu was constantly decreasing, reaching the single digits and finally…reaching 0.

Just as Dante was about to black out, the Reviver Seed from the Item Menu flashed and his whole body suddenly felt warm. His HP began to recover and the pain in his body began to ease.

Reviver Seed is an item in the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon world that can revive a fainted Pokemon. Among Exploration Teams, it's a particularly important item to bring in each exploration.

Azumarill, who was recovering after launching a powerful move, had a confused expression. The Pokemon in front of him was clearly hit and about to faint from his Earthquake attack. Why did he suddenly look fine again?

He was left with no time to think about this problem as Pikachu, who was left behind by the two of them, had already caught up and released Thunderbolt towards Azumarill.

Azumarill's speed was only beginning to recover from the Electro Web, coupled with his body just unleashing a move, he could only cross his arms in front of him to try blocking the attack.

His efforts were futile, and the Thunderbolt directly knocked him back to the deep water. With the system's reminder of obtaining experience, Dante knew that Azumarill had already fainted.

"Dante, are you alright?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. It's good that we brought the Reviver Seeds with us. Otherwise, our dungeon exploration this time would most likely fail."

"That Pokemon was sooo strong! Even from far away, I still felt a bit hurt from its attack."

Dante nodded in agreement to Pikachu's words. That Azumarill definitely possessed Huge Power. Its attack should also be higher than the other Pokemon on this floor, possibly reaching late 40s or even the 50s!

It already rivals Pikachu's stats, coupled with double the Attack stat from its Ability, it's no wonder just one move took him out. And remembering Azumarill's previous action of running away, Dante finally understood its reason.

The attack that took him out, according to the system backlog, was Earthquake. The Azumarill line normally can't learn this move, so it should be exclusive to this Shiny Azumarill. Earthquake is a physical move with a base power of 100 and can target a large range.

Azumarill deliberately ran away before using this move because he was afraid of affecting his downed companions. In addition, its large range can also ensure that he will be able to hit Dante even with his lowered speed.

Luckily, there were other Pokemon present, so Azumarill controlled the range of his attack not to include the whole room. Otherwise, Pikachu that is also weak to Ground type attacks will not be able to survive.

"What are we going to do now, Dante? Don't you want to recruit Azumarill to be part of our team?"

"It's alright. As long as he is in this dungeon, we'll surely find him again."

Pokemon in the dungeon don't just mysteriously disappear after fainting. In the previous dungeons, some Pokemon even recognize Dante and Pikachu and will run away after seeing the two of them.

With Azumarill being a Shiny, Dante can easily distinguish him from the rest. The only thing he had to work on now is to get his first Gym badge as soon as possible. Before that, he can constantly visit Azumarill in this dungeon and ease him into the idea of joining their team.
