I Have Decided to Go Look for My Father

Chapter 101: Looking over at Gu Xi, what's with that unpleasant feeling that he was experiencing right now? (1)

Lin Anxin wanted those from Liming to feel that Gu Xi had betrayed them while shaking up Gu Xi’s relationship with those from HSAU?

Gu Xi found that comical. Did Lin Anxin think that a competition like this was like playing house?

Sure enough, as soon as Lin Anxin finished talking, even though the students from both schools looked at Gu Xi with surprise in their eyes but those from HSAU quickly returned to their normal self.

“Senior Gu Xi transferred to our school. Of course she will be representing HSAU. Why would she still be representing Liming?” said Yang Mengmeng as she rolled her eyes at Lin Anxin.

The others nodded with her. The schools picked their representatives based on their abilities.

“What are you trying to say? That valedictorians are not allowed to transfer to a different school?”

“Exactly. You are welcome to express your opinion through the competition. Can you please refrain from barging in like this?”

Lin Anxin was very unhappy with the attitudes of those from HSAU. This was not the reaction that she was hoping for.

At the same time, Lin Anxin also noticed that these valedictorians were more difficult to lead on than the melon-eating students back at Liming.

Clenching her fists secretly, Lin Anxin lifted her chin and looked at Yang Mengmeng, the first to talk. She stopped faking being nice and retorted, “I’m just worried for you was all.”

“Worried for us? You are joking, right? The number 3 team was worrying for the number 1 team?” mocked Yang Mengmeng.

Lin Anxin, almost losing the battle, carried on, “So what if we were number 3? As far as I know, Liming scored higher than you in the first four events last year, right?”

Having said that, Lin Anxin looked over at Gu Xi’s direction deliberately and said, gloomily, “If Brother Zifeng wasn’t dragged down by a certain someone last year, you really think you could have gotten first place?”

Lin Anxin wasn’t wrong about what she said. During last year’s competition, Liming and HSAU’s scores were very closed to that of each other’s during the first four rounds. In fact, Liming was 2 points higher.

Lo and behold, during the final round of time-limited problems, they had messed up so badly that they fell all the way from first to third.

And the two representing Liming for the final round happened to be Gu Xi and Gao Zifan.

Where Lin Anxin had it wrong was that it wasn’t Gao Zifan that was dragged down, it was Gu Xi.

Per the rules of the Joint Science Competition, each school would send two members to participate in the final round of time-limited problems. Each school would receive a set of 400 questions and the two team members would complete them together.

The final score of this round would be the combined scores of the two team members.

Under normal situation, the two working together would each take half of the questions, split them up by odd and even numbers, or each would pick two out of the four subjects that they were best in.

In the end, for whatever reasons, Gao Zifan did the same problems as Gu Xi.

Even the teachers were stunned when they were grading the answers. When both students got the same answer right, they would only receive one point but, if one of the two answers was incorrect, points would be deducted.

The final out come was that, not only did Gu Xi’s team did not score more points during the final round, but Gao Zifan had missed so many questions that their final score was pathetic.

As it was a team event, the organization did not announce the individual scores. Only the total of each school was announced. As such, everyone only knew that something bad had happened with Liming’s team but nobody knew the truth.

The only reason that Gu Xi knew her own score was because their teacher at the time, could not believe the score that was announced and brought Gao Zifan and Gu Xi along as he put in a request to the organization asking to see the actual scores.

The teacher was stunned. One of their two students scored the highest individual score and the other, the lowest.

That wasn’t even the problem. The worst part of it all was that the two students worked on the same set of questions.
