Chapter 438: 438 The Defeat of the Green Goblin, In the Arms of Her Beloved, The Cruelty of the Inheritors, The Death of Spider-Man and A Dance Destined for Disgrace?

The Green Goblin fell unconscious after the beating of his life. However, Gwen and MJ didn't celebrate. Beneath their masks, both girls wore expressions of disbelief mixed with exhaustion. Their fists ached, and they were short of breath.

To be honest, it was rare to face an enemy that could push two "Spider-man" to give their all. It wasn't a secret that Gwen, MJ, and Natasha had to hold back their strength when hitting or kicking someone; much like Clark or Kara. But this time, they didn't hold back. There was no need, as this was the level the Green Goblin was at.

For a moment, Gwen wondered if she could have defeated him alone. No… She shook her head and looked at MJ. Defeat him? Even if she hadn't died from the bomb explosion, she would've been severely injured, putting her in grave danger.

"Thanks, MJ," Gwen smiled at the redhead, who was leaning on her knees, hiding her fear. MJ was just a normal girl, and situations like this weren't her strong suit.

"Don't worry about it~" MJ forced a smile, which made Gwen feel both guilty and happy. Maybe people would criticize their relationship, and perhaps her father wouldn't accept it, but Gwen had no issue "adopting" a sister like MJ.

"It's all because of this guy!"

Filled with anger, MJ didn't hesitate to remove the Green Goblin's helmet, only to see someone impossible beneath that creepy mask.

"How can it be him?!" Gwen exclaimed in resentment.

"No way…" MJ covered her mouth.

They stared in shock, seeing none other than Norman Osborn, the billionaire president and shareholder of Oscorp. Would someone like him go to such extremes just because he was ousted as president?

Everything about Harry Osborn made sense; all of it. A young man with everything to reach the top of the world, except for a more understanding father. Yet, Harry was also aware of his actions, and now he had to face the consequences.

Norman couldn't accept that reality, and this was the result.

Gwen exhaled in disgust. "Like father, like son... they're both horrible people!"

The ground creaked as if about to collapse.

"Gwen!"

"This is dangerous!"

"That can wait; the fire, the fire!" MJ was more concerned with the situation at hand.

Gwen nodded, wrapping Norman in webs like a cocoon. MJ grabbed Norman, jumped out the window, and Gwen ran to the elevator to get the trapped people down to the parking lot, where it was relatively safe.

As Gwen ran, she caught glimpses of several charred bodies among the flames. She clenched her teeth and turned away. Superheroes weren't gods... they couldn't save everyone or be everywhere at once. And besides…

'Compared to what Allen has faced, this is nothing!', Gwen thought, grabbing the pendant under her costume to give herself courage.

Norman achieved his goal in the most brutal way possible, wiping out the board of directors and many of his employees. Even if Oscorp didn't disappear completely, it would no longer be one of the world's top companies.

...

"Spider-Gwen, look over here!"

"Spinneret, can I get your autograph?!"

After rescuing the last person, applause erupted. Gwen scratched her cheek. She usually left before crowds gathered, so she wasn't used to so much attention. MJ just smiled and waved from afar.

Both girls were lucky. Despite being "spiders," they weren't tied to the cycle of tragedy that plagued other Spider-Man, which forced them into cruel and sad canon events. This was because their powers didn't come from the "Spider Totem" like the rest of the multiverse's Spider-Men but from Allen. Thanks to the system, they managed to sever their shared fate.

Allen didn't know much about this world compared to DC. However, he met a man named Stan Lee, who told him about Spider-Man, "The greatest superhero he ever created," and his miserable destiny.

At that moment, Allen felt the old man wasn't just rambling; there was deep meaning in his words. In a fit of paranoia and concern for his girlfriends, Allen took that story as truth and acted accordingly.

"Allen's going to get jealous~" MJ laughed.

It wasn't a secret that Jonah Jameson, the primary driver of Spider-Man's bad reputation, had focused his efforts on Allen. As a result, Spider-Gwen and Spinneret were spared from his smear campaigns, which helped them be more loved by the public. Of course, their actions were the main reason for this acceptance.

As the girls basked in the applause, Allen watched them with pride from a building. He had arrived midway through their fight but didn't intervene. He believed Norman was a tough opponent but manageable for the duo. Of course, he was ready to step in if necessary.

Bocchi – "Aren't you going to join them?"

"I don't want to steal their spotlight."

Allen was a media sensation wherever he went. Showing up now would only take attention away from the girls. However, he didn't want to wait too long, so he sent them a "hello" telepathically.

Both Gwen and MJ ignored everyone else and used their webs to speed out of the place as if they were breaking a speed record, both looked up at the tallest building, where Allen was waving at them.

Both girls immediately shot toward him, throwing themselves into his arms. Of course, he caught them.

"You're back!"

"Welcome home!!"

Allen removed their masks, revealing tearful eyes. "Of course, I came back. I was only gone for three days."

Allen did not need to stay in another world, so he returned periodically, but he did not do so daily so he could alter the time to spend less time away; those three months he was in Bleach were less than a week in this world.

Allen knew the girls' emotions were heightened by adrenaline after facing such a dangerous villain. Life was complicated; in a single moment, everything could change.

Gwen buried her head in Allen's chest. "Honestly, I was arrogant… I thought I was strong enough to handle anything, and then someone this dangerous appeared…"

Allen gently stroked Gwen's head, comforting her.

MJ was happy but couldn't hide the emotions Gwen's words had stirred. "I was careless. Being with you, with all of you, is the best thing that's ever happened to me. That home is so warm and comfortable that sometimes I let myself relax. But for a moment, I almost lost part of my family… I should've practiced more with my powers. If I'd been even a second slower or more out of shape, I…"

Allen listened attentively. He wanted to assure them he'd always be there, but he knew people needed to face hardships to grow.

"It's okay now. It was tough, but next time, it'll be easier…"

Allen returned to his apartment with the girls, who felt much better after letting it all out. The rest of the day went on as usual for Allen.

---

Theoretically, there are infinite universes in Marvel. However, only short designations are known, with Earth-199999 being the highest number used, where the MCU takes place.

That infinity of possibilities feels so massive that it's hard to grasp. It's like hearing that a butterfly can distinguish 300 million colors, but you can barely tell blue from navy blue.

Most would think there's not much difference; that they're just variations of the same universe. But this reality shouldn't be underestimated, as it's certain that, among these infinite possible universes, into one of them Allen Walker was born. And just as he exists, there could be universes entirely different from what everyone understands…

(Earth-449)

Peter Parker was awakened by the incessant sound of notifications on his phone. Answering it, he heard Jonah Jameson's annoyed voice.

"Parker, get your butt over to Armstrong Park! Some punks are wrecking everything!"

By that time, Peter was already putting on his Spider-Man suit. Just another day as the superhero, facing yet another villain at the worst possible moment.

For Spider-Man, life was always hard. Unlike other superheroes, his villains were inconsiderate, always choosing the worst times to show up. People constantly criticized him, especially Jameson, who made a sport out of ruining his reputation. Things weren't much better for Peter Parker—he was always broke, struggled at work, broke up with his girlfriend, and had a best friend who tried to kill him. Simply put, his life was as miserable as every other Spider-Man across the theoretically infinite multiverse.

Spider-Man swung out of his apartment. Those fortunate enough to notice below had the privilege of witnessing Spider-Man on one of his daily missions to save the city.

Peter reflected on past moments. Despite his difficult life and numerous villains, he managed to save many people, and that's what kept him going.

Soon, smoke and fire appeared in the distance. Spider-Man prepared to confront the villain of the day and save the day once more.

Upon landing, he saw a man with long black hair slicked back. His body was robust, and he looked like a character from an old vampire movie.

"Hey, creepy guy. Why don't you tell me what's bothering you, and maybe we can sort it out over dinner; just the two of us. You're paying, of course... I'm broke."

"So, you're one of the funny ones, huh?"

The man looked at Peter with a strange sense of familiarity, but Peter's Spider-Sense flared up to an extreme level like never before.

"I am Daemos… one of the inheritors of reality."

"And I'm your friendly neighborhood Spi—"

Daemos moved at an incredible speed, grabbing Peter by the neck. Peter, caught off guard, struggled to free himself, only to realize a horrifying truth; he couldn't. The man before him was far stronger than he was.

"It's always the same question, and I always give the same answer. We've done this a thousand times in a thousand different worlds, and it always ends the same..."

"What are you talking about?!"

There was desperation in Peter's voice, his spidey sense was crazed with danger that even Thor or the Hulk hadn't caused him by attacking him in the past.

He had to think of something fast...

*Crack*

Daemos snapped Spider-Man's neck as easily as breaking a twig. It was as simple, raw, and merciless as it sounded.

"It's time to feed..."

Daemos sunk his teeth into Peter's corpse and began devouring him without hesitation.

---

(Loomworld – Earth-1)

A dimensional rift opened as Daemos returned to his world, the realm of the Inheritors.

Standing before him was a woman in a long gown, exuding nobility but with the eerie, ancient air characteristic of their kind.

"Brother..."

The woman, known as Lady Verna, greeted Daemos but didn't turn away from her task. In front of her stood an enormous loom of golden threads forming a web. Over it loomed a man, shackled and sitting on a mechanical spider.

"Has the Master Weaver still not found our brother?"

"No... we have no idea where Morlun might be. You know he's our Father's favorite, so we must find him, but it seems he's disappeared… from the multiverse itself."

Daemos's expression hardened. The threads of life and destiny touched every reality in existence. The Master Weaver, bound to the loom, could see across all universes, beyond time and space, and transport anyone anywhere. The Inheritors had invested great effort to subjugate him, and thanks to the Weaver, they could now traverse universes, hunting and feeding on all Spider-Man.

While the Inheritors could "consume" any living being, they had developed a refined taste for Spider-Man. Beyond being a delicacy, devouring them granted immense power.

This was why these monsters were so powerful; they absorbed the strength of everyone they consumed. Each member of the Inheritors carried the powers of hundreds of Spider-Man and countless other heroes who had dared to stand in their way.

"That's impossible," Daemos said, stepping forward. "Master Weaver, where is my brother?"

The Weaver didn't respond—not out of defiance, as he was fully subjugated, but because he truly couldn't locate Morlun.

Lady Verna turned and walked deeper into the massive estate, Daemos following close behind. Their mansion was enormous, a fitting home for beings of their status.

Upon reaching the dining hall, they joined the rest of their macabre family. However, the focus was on the table—a scene of unthinkable horror.

"Welcome, Daemos."

"Mother..."

"Sit, my children, and let us feast as a family. It's been decades since we last did so."

Daemos allowed himself a slight smile. Before him were countless Spider-Man/Peter Parkers, among others chosen in their universes to be Spider-Man.

Some bore grievous wounds, evidence of the battles they fought before their deaths. Not only were they denied the dignity of a proper burial, but their bodies were displayed as if they were exotic dishes.

No...

That's exactly what they were.

To the Inheritors of reality, Spider-Man was food. They were their natural prey, hunted, found, and killed. Sometimes, they were brought to Loomworld, where the Inheritors delighted in family banquets.

It didn't matter how strong they were or how many villains they defeated. They all met the same fate at the hands of the Inheritors.

There was no escape...

Because across the multiverse, only once had a Spider-Man defeated an Inheritor... or at least, that's what was supposed to happen if fate hadn't been diverted.

It was the culmination of the universe's cruelty toward Spider-Man.

"Go ahead, my children, eat, and then go search for your lost brother!"

Everyone knew that Morlun was the favorite son, so it came as no surprise that they were tasked with finding him.

---

The Master Weaver, detached from the atrocity unfolding, continued his work. He searched across the multiverse for the thread of Morlun's existence. However, his threads couldn't reach a particular universe. Could it be that this universe didn't exist? Or was it… isolated from all others?

The Weaver, though enslaved, felt intrigued. Something he couldn't see. A place he couldn't sense. Perhaps it was worth finding. But if the threads of life and destiny couldn't reach that universe, how could he locate it?

The answer lay with Morlun. If, by chance, Morlun had entered that place, there might be a way to track him.

[The original trio of waifus returns 🍷🗿]

...

Allen gazed out the window as he sipped a cup of coffee. This world might not be perfect, but it was his. For now, he could only hope to protect it and prevent it from ending up like Marvel Zombies or some other wretched universe.

"Allen, it's still early~"

Behind him, a redhead stirred lazily beneath the sheets, her curvy figure and emerald eyes beckoning him back to bed.

"Didn't you get enough last night? Nya~"

Like a sleepy cat, a beautiful albino stretched out on the bed next to the redhead, arching her back and lifting her hips in a feline manner.

"You have no right to say that. Besides, you're the loudest one."

The albino blushed slightly but quickly smiled, her cheeks glowing as she gazed at Allen.

"It's because my boyfriend is so good~"

"You two are such perverts..."

A blonde groaned, clearly annoyed. She got up, holding a sheet to cover her body, inadvertently exposing the other two girls' bare forms.

Allen set his cup of coffee down and walked toward the bed.

"I hope you don't regret this..."

MJ swallowed nervously but looked at him with expectation. Felicia grinned mischievously, beckoning him with her finger. Gwen, seeing where things were headed, tried to flee, but the door closed telepathically. Resigned, she turned and let the sheet fall.

No one left that room that day. Fortunately, Allen's system could provide anything; from food and water to contraceptives.

---

(The Next Day)

Allen admired MJ and Gwen, both dressed in elegant evening gowns, looking stunning.

"What do you think?" MJ twirled, showing off her red dress that complemented her fiery hair. She wore heels and a necklace Allen had given her, now appearing as a discreet golden charm.

"You're always beautiful, but today you look even more stunning~"

MJ nodded approvingly at the compliment. "Good answer~"

"Gwen, you look gorgeous too. That navy blue dress really makes your eyes pop. It doesn't need to be flashy to be perfect."

Gwen blushed, looking down before pouting. "You don't have to lay it on so thick..."

Today was prom night, and Allen, with his new attitude, wasn't going to be "low-key." He was determined to give the girls an unforgettable evening.

As for Felicia, they'd pick her up from her place later. Yes, Allen was attending prom with all three of them, and he didn't care what anyone thought. Making them happy was his priority—even if it meant revealing his identity.

Allen himself wore a sleek black suit with a silver vest and tie. His dark hair gave him the look of a movie villain—charming yet dangerous.

Offering his arms to both girls, he escorted them to the waiting limousine.

"You're really going all out~" Natasha snapped a few photos of them from the living room.

Diana smiled faintly with amusement. "Allen, have you looked in a mirror? You look like you're in your twenties."

Allen had spent more time outside this universe, and it had taken a toll. Officially, he had just turned eighteen in this world, but his body appeared to be that of a twenty-year-old.

"It doesn't really matter~"

Allen shrugged, smirking. "If anyone wants to laugh, let them. But they'd better be ready for the consequences..."

A door opened and Kara and Raven appeared. Upon seeing Allen, they froze in place, their faces flushing.

[Well, Allen Walker still has the charm~]

---

A private jet landed at the international airport. A sophisticated man in sunglasses stepped out.

"Ah... New York. I've been here a thousand times, and it always makes me feel nostalgic..."

"Mr. Morlun, this way!" Dex, an emotionless man, motioned toward the path.

"From what I understand, in this unidentifiable universe, there is a Spider-Gwen... What a stroke of fortune. There aren't many Spider-Gwens, and even rarer—a Spinneret. I believe only two were known until now... Well, I suppose fate smiles upon me."

A/N: We all know Spider-Man is the punching bag of the world, but the creation of the Inheritors seems to me to have been too much, Marvel have gone over the top motherf*cker. 🗿
