I was reborn as a villainous aristocrat, but to be honest, I’m having too much fun with magic – I’m creating all kinds of unique magic, and before I know it, I’m going to be the next Demon King!

Chapter 10 - Smooth Start and Overload

A question, does everyone know what their vomit tastes like?

Well, you probably don’t know.

Even I would be in trouble if someone here said they knew.

I didn’t know about it until recently, but it’s a very pungent taste.

It’s so pungent that I think my tongue has gone rotten, and the pungent smell stings my nose.

Just a light lick would make me pass out, but alas. It’s no exaggeration to say that I have gotten used to it.

Because–

“Ghheeaeaaahhh….oh shit..!”

“Master Friedrich, you may throw up as much as you like, but first, please stand up and hold your weapon. If this were a real battle, you’d be dead,, wouldn’t you?”

The reason for this…it’s all thanks to Sariya, the sadistic instructor.

“If I ask Sariya, the strongest character in the story, to train me, I’ll become the strongest too!?”

I want to beat the me of that day when I thought that way.

…Well, I know that this is a necessary effort for me to become Friedrich, but this is too much.

“Dam-, Dame Sariya. Isn’t this too much…?”

“No, Miss Hecate, this is necessary for  Master Friedrich. Now that I have become his instructor, I will not allow him to train half-heartedly. If he holds a weapon from now on and is defeated and dies in the future, then It becomes will be my responsibility. It is the duty of the teacher to train people to prevent this from happening.”

Saria cuts off Hecate, who protects me while putting a handkerchief over my mouth.

I’m sure you have a point, but I was hoping for something a little more hands-on. I wanted that. I wanted to have a hand in it, not just get beaten up.

“I’ve heard that Hecate is the daughter of a Baron. If that’s the case, this Sarya doesn’t need any titles or honorifics.”

“…I appreciate your concern, but I guess I was born with this tone… Also, I’ve heard about Dame Sariya since you were at the academy. You were a very talented student.”

“Oh, Miss Hecate was also a graduate of Cadonic Academy of Magic?”

“Yes. I graduated just a few years ago.”

“…I see. In that case, you’ll be my junior for more than 20 years…”

“What!?”

I couldn’t help but raise my voice.

Twenty years my junior! ? Who!? Whose!?

“Sariya… how many… what…? Gehaaah!”

“Huh, Master Friedrich, hold on tight!”

“…I’ll be thirty-six this year.”

“You’re lying, aren’t you..!?”

Sariya!? Thirty-six!?

Can you believe it, because she totally looks like a high school girl!

“Demons are a long-lived race, so it’s harder to tell their age from their appearance compared to humans.”

Hecate adds, as she takes care of me.

Ah, now that I think about it, it was.

I think my father, Doroius, is also over 200 years old, and I guess he’s different from the normal humans from my previous life.

Demons live two to three times longer than humans, or so they said in the game.

If we think of it that way, Sariya’s age would be 12 to 18 years old when converted to human race. I see. That’s deep.

“Well, let’s finish feeding the plants in the garden and get back to work.”

“…I know!”

As soon as I stood up, I picked up the weapon that was next to me.

They weren’t ordinary weapons like swords and spears.

“Now then, let’s continue with the martial arts training handed down by our Austin Knights. Please hold your halberd.”

Halberd.

This is the weapon that was given to me on the day I asked Saria to train me.

Simply put, it is a weapon that is a combination of an ax and a spear.

The handle of the ax is pointed like a spear, so it looks like a weapon used by bandits or something.

“…I know it’s too late, but are you sure you want me to be your instructor? I thought a young man like Friedrich would prefer swords.”

“No, I prefer Sariya.”

I do think swords are cool, though.

There is a small trace of chuunibyou left in my heart.

Yes, I do. But Boys, Isn’t the halberd also cool?

It feels like it combines the best parts of various weapons, which I like.

“I-I see. I…”

“…?”

Instructor Sariya seems to be a bit conflicted.

I don’t know what’s going on, but I’m half-tempted in wanting to take a break while I can.

“Okay, then, let’s continue with the training. We’ll be as strict as before!”

“It’s what I want!!”

After that, the training  was a little less intense than before, but I still ended up tasting vomit twice more.

“Oh, I’m so tired..”

After cleaning myself and eating dinner, I dive into bed as if to collapse.

The softest bed I had ever felt in both my lives was dented into my shape.

“Thank you for your hard work, Master Friedrich.”

Hecate calls out to me.

“…Thank you, Hecate.”

I am really grateful to Hecate for all she does for me.

I would have lost hope during Sariya’s training if it wasn’t for her who always encouraged me.

I also want to do something for her…

“Ah, that’s right.”

I thought of one thing.

I sat up on the bed.

“Hecate. Would you like to try using my unique magic too?”

“Unique magic?”

“Ah. It’s the magic I’ve been working on lately.”

“Eh, yes?”

Hecate’s eyes widened in surprise.

What, did I say something that surprised her?

“Isn’t that magic for the chosen one that can only be used by Master Friedrich…!?”

“It’s not that big of a deal…”

Having said that, I’ve never seen anyone other than Keika using unique magic.

“That’s right. This will be a good test. “Magic Power. Thou shalt be a lamp to light my path. Light Torch.”

As I chant this, a sphere of pale light appears on the index finger of my right hand, dimly illuminating its surroundings.

This is a magic that consumes very little magic power and won’t knock me out even if I use it ten times.

If this is the case, Hecate will be able to use it without too much trouble.

“Repeat the chant I just chanted, clearly imagining this kind of light appearing on your fingers.”

“Oh, Understood.”

Hecate closes her eyes and takes a breath.

Silence reigned in the room for a few seconds, then Hecate spoke.

“Magic power…?”

“What’s wrong?”

Hecate interrupts her chant and tilts her head, as if something is amiss.

“No, it’s like usual…what can I say, I don’t feel like my magic has moved.”

“Magical power…?”

That’s strange.

When I chant, “Magic Power” the magic in my body would make a racket as if to say, “Are you finally ready to go?” The magic inside your body will be making noise as if to say, “It’s finally time to go!”

But nothing happens here.

“Hmm…Could you please try chanting it from beginning to end?”

“I understand. Magic Power. Thou shalt be a lamp to light my path. Light Torch…?”

“Huh?”

But still nothing happened!

Hecate chanted the “Light torch” without missing a word.

However, nothing happened, and there was no sign that the magic was moving.

“Would you please try again?”

“Yes, yes. Magic Power. Thou shalt be a lamp to light my path. Light Torch.”

After that, I asked Hecate to try chanting several times, but nothing happened.

I tried with other unique magic, but it didn’t work either.

“What does it mean…?”

“…I’m sorry. I’m a useless maid of Master Friedrich…”

“No, no! That’s not true! Hecate is extremely helpful!”

I thought while desperately trying to comfort Hecate, who was depressed with tears in the corners of her eyes.

There are four possible reasons why Hecate cannot use my unique magic.

One, people in this world usually cannot use their own magic.

Two, Hecate happens to be unable to use her own magic.

Three, I am a special person who can use unique magic.

Four, if She train, She will be able to use it.

Well, it is hard to think that Hecate cannot use unique magic by chance.

She seems to have graduated from the Cadonic Academy of Magic, and she can handle two attributes of lower-level magic. In short, she is one of the people in this world who can use magic relatively well.

The fourth reason, if she practice, she will eventually be able to use it.

This cannot be denied. I will continue to have Hecate cast her unique magic on a regular basis.

However, the first and third options that I currently think are most likely.

In short, it is possible that the inhabitants of this world are unable to use their own magic, and that I, as a reincarnated person, am able to use it specially.

Honestly, this is probably the most likely.

You see, the power only available to reincarnated people is ironclad.

However, I still don’t understand the reason behind it.

…I need to investigate.

Honestly, I want people who are on my side to use unique magic. It’s convenient.

But is it troublesome for the enemy to use it? Isn’t it a good idea to openly introduce it to other people so that they can use it too…

As I nodded my head, a feeling of fatigue suddenly took hold of my body.

…Now that I think about it, Saria rubbed me a lot today.

It’s been a month since she started training me, and it’s going to take me a while to get used to this.

“Let’s go sleep for now, Hecate.”

“That’s right. I have an early morning tomorrow, so I hope you get a good rest.”

“Hmm? Is there something tomorrow?”

When I said that, Hecate puffed out her cheeks a little and said in a pleasant tone.

–It was a problematic remark, far more so than I could have imagined.

“What are you talking about? Tomorrow is the day Master Friedrich’s sister returns home.”

“..Huh?”

Now, the character Friedrich Riggle Asmodai is a villain from the beginning to the end of “The Apostles of Arinasia”, a character that is deeply etched in player’s memories.

I’ve been playing the game for dozens of weeks, so I’m no exception, and I know Friedrich very well.

I know that he is lazy and violent, that he is jealous of the hero and tries to violate the heroine, that he cannot use magic and is all about physiques, and that he is an only child…

— The fact that he is an only child.

“Sister…? mine…?”

“…Master Friedrich, are you okay? Was today’s training too hard? Well, it’s no wonder. Dame Sariya’s training was extremely tough…”

“….What is my sister’s name?”

“yes?”

Before I knew it, I was gasping as I said that.

Friedrich’s sister? I’ve never heard of such a thing. At least in the main game, there was no such depiction at all!

I was confused.

I was confused by this unknown information that Friedrich had a sister.

However, Hecate’s comment right after that made my brain explode with too much information.

“Are you sleep talking even though you’re not asleep?…Master Friedrich’s sister’s name is Christina Riggle Asmodai, right? ”

I recognized the name, Christina.

Because it was one of the characters who joins the main character’s party in the middle of “The Apostles of Arinasia,” and she was the strongest in the story, and…

–Because it was the name of my beloved character.
