In bleach as Gilgamesh

Chapter 13: Chapter 13 - Yoruichi Shihōin

Chapter 13 - Yoruichi Shihōin

Ōmaeda Marechiyo acted quickly.

Early the next morning, professional architects arrived at the Inuzuri district.

After discussing with Gilgamesh, these professionals began working on the construction of the royal city.

In a backward place like Rukongai, building a royal city requires a large labor force.

This was why Gilgamesh started by winning people's hearts and registering their information.

These people were the labor force Gilgamesh had prepared for the construction of the royal city.

They knew that after three days, they would need to work to get water, so they willingly participated in the construction. Some even competed for work, fearing they wouldn't get water otherwise.

Gilgamesh, having integrated Young Gil's template, possessed immense talent in architecture.

He had designed and built the ancient kingdom of Uruk.

Materials were sourced locally, using clay, stone, and wood.

This not only ensured high efficiency but also saved costs, making it the best choice for Gilgamesh.

Thus, Gilgamesh planned to emulate the style of Uruk in building a royal city in the Soul Society.

After Ōmaeda left yesterday, Gilgamesh had flown Vimana to thoroughly survey the terrain and topography of Inuzuri, bypassing the preliminary investigation phase for the royal city's construction.

With a detailed plan, professional architects, and ample labor, the construction of the royal city progressed smoothly.

Time passed day by day.

Smiles increasingly adorned the faces of Inuzuri residents.

They no longer worried about water; as long as they worked, they could get enough water.

Working to improve Inuzuri made them more dedicated and earnest in their labor.

They knew all of this was thanks to Gilgamesh.

They genuinely recognized Gilgamesh as their king, willingly letting him govern and lead them.

Now, Inuzuri was essentially Gilgamesh's territory, and its residents were his subjects.

Ōmaeda Kizoin, who was the vice-captain of the 2nd Division during Yoruichi Shihōin's tenure and the current head of the Ōmaeda family, had been secretly observing Gilgamesh.

He wanted to confirm if Gilgamesh, whom his son considered backed by one of the Four Noble Houses, really had such a background and understand the purpose behind his actions in Inuzuri.

So he had been watching Gilgamesh in the shadows for days.

His attitude gradually shifted from skepticism to recognition, and now, to respect.

Not far away, Gilgamesh was walking through the streets with Renji and Rukia, basking in the sunlight.

Everyone they passed greeted Gilgamesh warmly from the heart.

Despite being a king, Gilgamesh showed no arrogance.

To Kizoin, Gilgamesh appeared as a humble, courteous young man with red eyes, responding to every greeting.

Those who received his responses were filled with genuine joy and hope for the future.

Who could have imagined that just days ago, these people were lifeless, devoid of hope, like walking corpses waiting for death?

Kizoin knew it was all thanks to Gilgamesh.

To him, Gilgamesh was a born king—generous, thoughtful, just, and morally upright, admired by passersby.

Gilgamesh was leading his people towards a bright and hopeful future.

Although Kizoin fully recognized Gilgamesh as a king, he had no desire to follow him.

Inuzuri was too small; ruling it alone couldn't convince Kizoin to pledge loyalty.

Moreover, the Soul Society was vast, too large to accommodate the rise of another king.

If Gilgamesh only ruled Inuzuri, it wouldn't matter much.

Being in the 78th district of South Rukongai, Inuzuri was too remote and underdeveloped to hold much value.

However, if Gilgamesh sought to expand, he would inevitably face resistance.

If Gilgamesh had the backing of one of the Four Noble Houses, his territory might expand several times over.

But only a few times.

Other nobles wouldn't sit idly by, and the Gotei 13 wouldn't allow an uncontrollable force to rise in the Soul Society.

Without the backing of the Four Noble Houses, Gilgamesh's expansion would be impossible.

He would face resistance from individuals, groups, small families, large families, and nobles alike.

The reason was simple: expanding his territory would infringe upon their interests.

Kizoin didn't warn Gilgamesh.

He believed that as a king, Gilgamesh understood these matters better than he did.

Silently leaving, Kizoin returned to his family's residence in the 1st district of South Rukongai.

Sitting at his desk, Kizoin couldn't calm his thoughts, his mind replaying the events in Inuzuri.

"Oh my, it's rare to see you deep in thought, Kizoin!"

A teasing female voice suddenly rang out.

Kizoin looked up to see a pitch-black cat on his desk, watching him with interest.

The voice came from this cat, who was none other than Yoruichi Shihōin, the former captain of the 2nd Division.

Kizoin was one of Yoruichi's informants in the Soul Society, often providing her with information.

Kizoin wasn't surprised or scared by Yoruichi's sudden appearance. He calmly said, "I've experienced some things recently and had some insights."

Yoruichi's ears perked up with interest, "Oh, tell me what's given you such insights."

Without hesitation, Kizoin recounted the events of the past few days.

Yoruichi's interest grew, and she jumped out of the window, leaving a message, "District 78 of South Rukongai, right? I'll go see this young king who has earned your recognition."

Kizoin watched her leave, muttering to himself, "Captain is still as impulsive and straightforward as ever."

Then, he thought to himself, "But even the captain might be conquered by him…"
