In Fairy Tail, starts with a Super Mega Gengar

Chapter 52: Chapter 52: Makarov Faints

A group of people compared coordinates back and forth to confirm that they were indeed in the right place—over the Giant's Mountain Range.

However, there was no sign of the mountain range now; all that lay before them was a boundless sea.

The chaotic and restless magic energy intermingled in the area was a clear indication of what had transpired here during the day.

Clearly... the entire Giant's Mountain Range had been blown away.

It even appeared that the explosion had expanded toward the western edges of the mountain range, blasting through the land and sea to create such a scene.

The original Giant's Mountain Range had vanished, replaced by a vast artificial ocean.

The members of the Magic Council sent out specialized testing personnel with various equipment to begin collecting magical data from the site.

Meanwhile, Makarov and Wolfheim stood at the edge of the magical airship, feeling the chaotic magic energy around them.

Yajima's eyes brimmed with worry, and his expression was grave, "This level of destruction... It's beyond what a human could achieve, don't you think? It seems the Dark Guild has really stirred up something massive."

Makarov also appeared solemn as he raised his hand, and a bright light appeared in his palm.

A sphere made of Light Magic illuminated the surroundings of the magical airship, causing the dark magic in the air to immediately materialize and then quickly dissipate.

Everyone felt an inexplicable lightness in their bodies.

Makarov frowned, "Such dense dark magic... It has completely replaced the natural elemental magic in this area."

The Pegasus, which had been acting rather lewdly, now withdrew its cheeky demeanor and began to reflect earnestly, "Could it be some sort of forbidden magic? Or have they summoned a demon?"

After a moment of contemplation, Makarov replied, "It's not impossible. Human capabilities are ultimately limited. The scale of destruction and the residue of dark magic here... it seems beyond human means."

"However..." Makarov sensed a familiar dark magic residue in the air, though it was faint and challenging to identify.

It just felt so familiar.

Hearing this, the others looked at Makarov, noticing his frown.

Wolfheim asked, "What's wrong, Makarov?"

Makarov shook his head, saying, "No, it's nothing. Let's wait for the investigation results." The personnel from the Magic Council were busy bustling about.

Before long, a light appeared on the distant horizon.

As it got closer, it was confirmed to be other airships from the Council approaching from different directions.

Several of the Council's airships gathered together, and Wolfheim went forward to inquire, "Did you find anything abnormal from the other directions?"

The Council members on the other ships exchanged information, saying, "Nothing abnormal has been detected. The entire Giant's Mountain Range was obliterated in the explosion, leaving no traces whatsoever. Unless we go deeper into the seabed to see if there's anything left... but the hope seems slim."

"This area has been obliterated by an extremely powerful dark magic explosion; it's nearly impossible for anything to remain intact under such a force."

"We did find some stone blocks that seemed to have been cut by magic at the edges. We initially suspect the Dark Mage Guild might be constructing something with these blocks. We'll take them back to the Council for further investigation."

As one of the Council members spoke, he signaled for some men to bring over a few rectangular stones, placing them on the deck.

The moment Wolfheim saw those stones, cold sweat instantly poured down his back.

Watching the Council members discuss the potential uses of the stones, he quietly stepped away and found Makarov, saying, "Come quickly with me."

Makarov looked puzzled, "What's going on?"

Wolfheim pulled Makarov aside, whispering while pointing towards the stone blocks, "Do you feel anything unusual about those rocks? They were found at the edge of the Giant's Mountain Range."

The other Council members were from different kingdoms and were unfamiliar with the stones.

However, Yajima, being a Fairy Tail member and a close friend of Makarov, recognized them immediately.

He often helped Gildarts with his influence in the Council.

The moment Makarov laid eyes on the stones, his scalp tingled, and he clutched his head, exclaiming, "No way...!"

He finally realized where the familiar magic energy in the air came from!

Those rectangular stones, along with the previously sensed familiarity, told Makarov without a doubt that it was Gildarts' Crush Magic at work.

Wasn't he supposed to be in Magnolia Town with Cana?

How did he make it all the way to the Giant's Mountain Range?!

And did he really blow up a section of the continent?! How much would this cost to repair?!!!

Makarov felt his life flash before his eyes.

At his age, he couldn't handle such shocking news... He took deep breaths to steady himself, then with a dark expression took out his communicator, signaling Wolfheim to wait a moment, before dialing a number.

Gildarts' voice quickly came through on the other end, "Yo, old man. What made you think to contact me? Where are you?"

With a scowl, Makarov responded, "Don't ask me where I am first. Where are you?"

Gildarts sounded puzzled, "I'm at the Guild, of course."

Makarov felt relieved; if Gildarts was at the Guild, then he was safe... The Fiore Kingdom was far away, so it definitely wasn't Gildarts' doing. He wouldn't have to pay any damages.

However, before Makarov could calm down fully, Gildarts spoke again, "You better come back quickly."

"What's wrong?" Makarov's heart sank.

Gildarts hesitated, "Well… how should I put this? While we were fighting the Grimoire Heart, we accidentally blew up the Giant's Mountain Range and killed two of their operatives… Now we're worried about retaliation, so we're recalling everyone to the Guild."

Makarov's heart raced.

Crash!

A sound of something dropping rang out.

Gildarts sounded confused, "Hello? Old man? Are you listening? Hello?"

At that moment, Makarov was completely petrified, his eyes blank, and in his mind, only two words repeated endlessly...

Blown up...

Blown up...

Blown up...

With a thud, Makarov's eyes turned white, his mouth agape, and he fell straight back to the ground.

Yajima, startled by Makarov's collapse, rushed over, shouting, "Makarov! What's wrong? Wake up! Where's a healer?! Hurry, someone!!!"

At that moment, in Magnolia Town, at the Fairy Tail Guild… Gildarts listened to the chaos on the other end of the communicator, his body stiffening as cold sweat dripped down his forehead.

This was bad... it seemed like the old man had fainted from fright…

"Gildarts, what did the Guild master say?"
