Chapter 19: Surrender, Or Die!
Cortez's muscles bulged, and her horse-shaped body swelled again.
Another war-trampling attack directly threw Mila tens of meters away.
Four sharp claws plowed deep furrows in the sand.
Cortez was even able to suppress Harribel in the burst of sheer power.
There is still a certain gap between Mila and Harribel.
Cortez made an excited sound. As a combat madwoman, such a level of fighting is what she desires.
The boring life in the Forest of Menos Grande is tedious to the extreme.
Swearing allegiance to His Majesty Shendu is the most correct decision she has ever made in her life!
The howling wind rang through the desert.
The turbulent Broken Waterfall crushed Cero once again, completely annihilating it.
The anger deep in Harribel's heart could no longer be suppressed, like a raging tide of fury.
Boom—
The azure sea tide turned into a surging waterfall, falling from mid-air at ferocious speed, even breaking the air barrier and cracking the sand surface.
Not every corner of Hueco Mundo's lower area is the Forest of Menos Grande.
On the battlefield here, there are only endless piles of white sand.
With the intelligence of the Gillian group, they didn't have the consciousness to dodge and rushed forward recklessly.
The Broken Waterfall resembled a mountain collapse, and its terrifying force acted on every Gillian's body.
Gillian with stronger defenses fared slightly better—at most, their tree-branch-like nasal bridges were smashed, their masks were shattered, and their chances of re-evolution were ruined.
Gillian with weaker defenses looked much worse.
Their long black bodies were broken by the waterfall, and blood flowed into the azure tide, adding splashes of different colors.
Harribel didn't give the Gillian group a chance to regroup, spinning and disappearing in place immediately.
When she reappeared...
That proud figure had already rushed into the Gillian group. The giant white bone sword was raised and lowered, and the Gillian in front of her was slain on the spot.
The other Adjucha bared their teeth, their twisted faces full of ferocity.
Reiatsu exploded as they attacked Harribel defiantly.
However, their struggle was no different from that of ordinary Gillian.
Against an opponent of Harribel's level, it only meant enduring an extra cut before death.
And more than this...
It was still a one-shot kill.
Except for outstanding Adjucha like Cortez, the rest of the Adjucha were completely overwhelmed.
They had no way to fight back.
This was like a battle between a Shinigami captain and seated officers—utterly one-sided.
Just when the Menos Grande group was about to be annihilated by Harribel, a more terrifying Reiatsu descended upon the battlefield.
A scorching breath filled the air.
The unmistakable smell of sulfur permeated the surroundings.
Another hoof sent Mila flying again.
Excitement flickered in Cortez's red pupils.
"His Majesty is coming!"
As soon as the words left her mouth, Mila, who was planning to attack again, froze in place, a rare flash of fear in her eyes.
His Majesty?!
Could it be the skeleton from Las Noches?!
The being capable of making someone like Cortez surrender must also be a Vasto Lorde, and one of the best!
Mila growled anxiously, trying to warn Harribel.
However, when she looked over, she saw Harribel's expression had grown unprecedentedly grave.
Hum—
As the Reiatsu approached, it felt like a mountain collapsed, pressing into every hollow heart.
Mila, Sung-Sun, and Apacci subconsciously gathered together, trembling as they felt each other's slight shivers.
This was instinctive fear.
Definitely a Vasto Lorde!
When the Reiatsu fully descended, they confirmed this thought.
While trembling with fear, Mila and the others cast worried glances toward Harribel.
Lord Harribel...
Bang, bang, bang!
Dull sounds echoed from afar.
Every step seemed to trample on everyone's hearts, suffocating them with raw power.
It appeared.
The seemingly slow figure covered an immense distance with every step.
When the dark green body appeared within sight, emotions varied.
The fear deep in Mila and the others' eyes peaked.
A strange Vasto Lorde.
A terrifying dragon-like existence.
The streamlined muscular frame, sharp claws, and gleaming fangs embodied the perfect apex predator.
Unlike Mila and the others' fear, Cortez's face brimmed with fanaticism.
She loved battle and revered the strong.
Having been utterly defeated in direct combat, her loyalty was cemented.
Now Cortez had evolved into a devout follower of Shendu!
Faced with such a being, even Harribel, no matter how confident, dared not be reckless.
The overwhelming Reiatsu spoke volumes.
Boom!
The dull footsteps stopped, and Shendu's slightly towering figure loomed over Harribel.
"Harribel?"
The magnetic voice echoed through the empty desert.
Shendu scrutinized Harribel with a piercing gaze.
"Shendu, there shouldn't be any conflict between us," Harribel said.
"I have no intention of competing for Hueco Mundo's land."
"If you're willing to—"
Shendu raised a hand, cutting her off.
"No, no, it has nothing to do with what you think."
Shendu grinned magnetically. "I do as I please, unconcerned with others' opinions."
"This is an inevitable war."
"I think you understand what I mean."
Harribel took a deep breath. Her bone mask concealed her face, but her green eyes glinted with caution.
"Is there truly no room for negotiation?"
Harribel sought to dissuade Shendu from his dangerous intent.
A clash between Vasto Lordes was no ordinary skirmish.
If one side won and the other lost, so be it. But mutual destruction would undoubtedly invite opportunists.
Shendu stepped closer, his Reiatsu pressing down, locking his dangerous gaze onto Harribel.
"Surrender..."
"Or die!"
