Chapter 28: What Happen to You?
Theodore who was not far away heard Geoffrey's voice, he also glanced back to confirm their situation.
Given that the duration of his skill was about to run out Theodore decided to escape from that place, he did not intend to kill all the zombies gathered in this place.
"We're going back now. Geoffrey led the way, I'll follow behind." Theodore again gave instructions to Geoffrey.
Geoffrey pulled his sister's arm and walked in the direction they came from, with Theodore following behind.
Theodore thought he should create a distraction so that the zombies wouldn't chase them again.
"Geoffrey, you guys hide where we were before. And give this to your sister, I'll take care of them first," Theodore said then while throwing a sword at Geoffrey.
Because Theodore's skill duration had run out, he decided to order Geoffrey and Roxanne to hide first.
While he would take care of the zombies that followed them. Not wanting the horde of zombies to get bigger, Theodore ran in the opposite direction while making noise to lure the crowd of zombies.
Theodore thought that he could throw something that would cause a commotion, so the zombies would chase the noise and he could escape.
However, the problem was what items could make a loud noise when thrown.
Not only that, Theodore also needed a suitable place to throw the item so that the sound produced could be maximized.
Theodore was actually thinking of throwing the small gas cylinder he had for his portable gas stove and it would be great if he could spark a fire and make a big commotion.
Unfortunately Theodore didn't buy a firearm beforehand because he thought that firearms were ineffective for killing zombies.
And now Theodore regrets his choice because in times like these firearms can be very useful for him who needs a spark.
It would just be great if Theodore had fire magic, it would make matters easier for him.
"It seems like it's a long way for me to get something like magic from the system," Theodore grimaced when he realized that he was starting to think like a greedy person.
And now Theodore had decided that the idea of tossing the portable gas cylinder wasn't a bad one.
At least it was an idea Theodore needed to try, without waiting long he took out several portable gas cylinders from within his Sacred dimension.
Then Theodore threw a gas cylinder towards the glass door of the restaurant. Not stopping there Theodore also pulled out another gas cylinder, but this time before throwing it he slashed the tube a little until it made a sound.
Then Theodore threw the gas cylinder that had made the sound towards the restaurant. Fortunately, Theodore's actions were enough to attract some attention from the horde of zombies.
Since his job there was done, Theodore immediately ran back to the direction where he was previously hiding with Geoffrey.
Theodore could breathe a sigh of relief after seeing Geoffrey and Roxanne safe in that hiding place.
Honestly, Theodore was a little worried when he left Geoffrey and Roxanne alone and now they just needed to return to their apartment.
"Thank goodness you guys are okay," Theodore said when he saw Geoffrey and Roxanne running towards him.
"What about you, big brother?" Geoffrey was very worried about Theodore's condition after he fought the zombies alone.
"No problem, for now they won't chase us. But, it's only for a while, we need to go back to the apartment," Theodore explained while occasionally glancing behind him.
For a while Theodore forgot about Roxanne's existence because she had been silent all this time.
Because of this, Theodore became quite suspicious of Roxanne's condition; he had to make sure that Roxanne had not been infected by the damn zombie virus.
"Are you hurt, Roxanne?" Theodore also walked closer to Roxanne.
In the darkness of the night lit only by moonlight, Roxanne shook her head.
"Are you sure? Tell me from now on if you get bitten or scratched by a zombie." Seeing Roxanne's suspicious movements, Theodore immediately pulled Geoffrey behind his back.
Roxanne took a deep breath, with trembling hands she held out her bloodied hands.
Seeing that, Theodore immediately moved backwards, away from Roxanne with his eyes widened in shock.
"You were really hurt by them?" Theodore did not expect his efforts to come here to be in vain like this.
"Gosh! What happen to you?!" Geoffrey also couldn't help but scream in terror when he saw his sister's condition.
Roxanne quickly shook her head, "I-it's not my blood!" Roxanne immediately explained the situation with great anxiety.
Even so Theodore kept his distance from Roxanne and prepared with the sword in his hand that he gripped tightly.
"There was someone in the restaurant earlier who suddenly turned into a zombie, so I killed him with a knife and it became like this." Roxanne explained the bad memories that happened to her when she was inside the restaurant.
One could clearly hear Roxanne's voice trembling and her body shaking with fear.
Geoffrey who heard how his sister was scared like that became very compassionate, but instead of moving closer to his sister he looked at Theodore first asking for his approval.
"What should we do, big brother? My sister won't become a zombie, right?" Geoffrey anxiously asked Theodore.
"I have to check first." Theodore finally chose to see firsthand whether there were traces of wounds or not on Roxanne's body.
Theodore also ventured to approach Roxanne and grabbed Roxanne's outstretched hand towards him.
Not wanting to be missed by anything Theodore also brought his hand to trace Roxanne's hand to check if there were any scars there.
After a while Theodore examined both of Roxanne's bloodied arms, he found no wounds there.
"There's no wound," Theodore said with a sigh of relief.
Not only Theodore was relieved, but Geoffrey was also very relieved to know that his sister would not turn into a zombie.
"Thank goodness then, I was so afraid that my sister would turn into a zombie," Geoffrey said as he walked closer to them.
"There's no time for us to relax right now. The situation around the apartment must be very chaotic right now," Theodore said as he thought about what might have happened around their apartment.
Theodore turned to Roxanne and looked at her seriously, "Use the sword I gave you earlier to protect yourself, you don't have to feel guilty about killing those zombies, they're not human anymore."
Theodore understood very well about Roxanne's current state; she must have felt guilty for thinking that she had killed someone in the restaurant before.
"Geoffrey, we're leaving now." Theodore said as he led the way back to their apartment.
