Chapter 19: 19. If You Think You Can, Then Do It.
Macragge, Cirok Spaceport.
Under the guidance of Sergeant Titus of the Ultramarines Second Company, Noah and three Space Marine Chapter Masters were led into a massive conference room.
The room was dominated by a large round table capable of seating twelve people. Opposite the entrance was a massive bulletproof window.
Through the glass, Noah could clearly see the breathtaking planet below, composed of cerulean oceans and verdant landmasses. A trace of nostalgia and yearning surfaced on his face.
-----------------------
Huron stood beside him, smirking as he teased,
"You seem to like Macragge quite a bit."
Space Marines were typically adept at social interaction, but Huron excelled even among them.
"Yes, it reminds me of my homeworld," Noah admitted openly.
Macragge, the homeworld of the Ultramarines, was a rugged yet stunning planet. Three-quarters of its surface was dominated by frigid, mountainous highlands, with the rest covered in shimmering blue oceans.
Among all the planets Noah had encountered, this was the one most reminiscent of his memories of Earth.
"Then your homeworld must have been a beautiful place," Huron remarked.
"It was, once," Noah replied ambiguously. Earth's beauty in the 3rd Millennium was a far cry from the wasteland Terra had become by the 41st Millennium.
Ironically, Macragge bore a closer resemblance to the Earth of his memories. Of course, in a galaxy as vast as the Imperium's, there were countless similar planets.
Out of the Imperium's one million worlds, only about 32,800 were Hive Worlds, and fewer than 1,000 were Forge Worlds. Among the remaining 960,000, most were Civilized Worlds like Macragge. Even so, Civilized Worlds varied greatly, ranging from primary worlds to garden worlds and mining worlds.
Unquestionably, Macragge was among the most prominent of Civilized Worlds. As the homeworld of the Ultramarines and their Primarch, Roboute Guilliman, it also served as the capital of the Second Imperium.

Bang!
The sudden loud sound of the doors opening startled Noah. Turning, he saw an imposing figure stride into the room—a hulking, one-eyed warrior clad in an ornately decorated suit of artificer power armor. His hands were encased in massive power fists, each equipped with underslung bolters. Following behind him were several members of the Ultramarines Honor Guard.
The towering figure headed straight toward Noah!
"Oh no, did he overhear me? Wait, Calgar doesn't have psychic powers… does he?" Noah's heart skipped a beat, and like anyone caught off guard, he felt a surge of nervousness.
Nevertheless, he maintained a calm exterior, meeting the approaching warrior's gaze head-on.
Marneus Calgar, accompanied by his Honor Guard, stood before Noah, who had no protectors with him. Nono was still aboard the Stellar which was going undergoing repairs, while Argenta and Cassia were off exploring the spaceport at Noah's request.
Calgar studied the finely dressed mortal before him, then solemnly said,
"Lord von Valancius, no matter the outcome, thank you for everything you've done for the Ultramarines."
"Uh…?" Noah was taken aback. This was their first formal meeting since arriving at Cirok Spaceport, and he hadn't yet shared anything with the Ultramarines about the Tyranids.
This could mean only one thing—someone had leaked information to Calgar!
And who else could it be but Huron? The Lamenters were reliable, and the Mantis Warriors lacked firsthand knowledge. Only the Astral Claws had engaged the Genestealers directly and gathered significant intelligence.
"No surprises there!" Noah shot a glance at Huron on his right. The latter didn't bother hiding his actions, his smile seeming to say, "No need to thank me."
"I'll thank your sister!" Noah grumbled inwardly but refrained from making a scene.
Huron was undeniably ambitious, and this kind of maneuver was entirely in character.
Fortunately, Noah had been cautious and hadn't shared the full picture with Huron. He'd only mentioned the Genestealers and kept all other Tyranid details to himself.
After greeting Noah, Calgar turned to the three Chapter Masters, apologizing,
"My apologies, gentlemen. Time is of the essence, and I'll save pleasantries for after the meeting when I'll personally host a banquet in your honor."
"Understandable," Huron replied gravely as he took his seat.
He and Chapter Master Sartaq of the Mantis Warriors sat on the right side of the table, while the Lamenters Chapter Master, Phoros, sat on the left. Naturally, Noah joined Phoros on the left.
The seat of honor, of course, was reserved for Calgar.
However, Calgar didn't seem to think so. Instead, he sat directly beside Noah, fixing him with an unyielding gaze.
Thank the Emperor his other eye was still intact.
"?" Noah's confusion was palpable.
As if anticipating this, Huron spoke up,
"Noah, no one here understands these xenos better than you, nor is anyone more suited to preside over this meeting. I believe the others would agree."
"I do," Calgar nodded.
"So do I," Phoros said, offering Noah an encouraging look.
"I have no objections," added Sartaq.
With that, Noah relented. Not that he'd ever intended to decline—he'd only been playing along.
As if this meeting could proceed without me at the helm!
Noah rose to his feet and spoke with deliberation:
"If possible, I would like all the Company Captains, and even Sergeants, to join this meeting. This is of utmost importance for the coming war."
Pausing for emphasis, he added,
"This is critical for the battles ahead!"
"I agree," Huron said immediately, his tone serious. "I've seen the horrors of these xenos firsthand. Every battle-brother must be made aware of their dangers!"
Calgar had no objections. His initial decision to limit attendees was a gesture of respect toward the four Chapter Masters and Noah. However, from a practical standpoint, the more participants, the better. The more Marines understood the Tyranid threat, the fewer casualties they would suffer.
Soon, the room was flooded with Space Marines in power armor of various chapter colors.
Although the chamber had been designed for large meetings, it was still cramped with over a hundred Space Marines present. Many Sergeants and lower-ranking officers had to stand against the walls, leaving only the Captains seated.
At this point, a single well-placed explosive could obliterate a significant portion of the Ultramarines' command structure.
Yet despite the overcrowded conditions, not a single Marine complained.
Gazing at the diverse assembly of Space Marines, Noah spoke gravely:
"Some of you may already know of the Genestealers. However, to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the Tyranid menace, I will start from the beginning.
"First of all—"
