Isekai: The Eight Soul Fragments

Remuel was surrounded by three people as his barrier can only shield him for thirty seconds. He immediately passed through Begona and Duke Elliot and tried to push them back with fire. The three of them moved back as if to avoid the fire by distance. In his mind, a thought crossed over. "These two maids should not be harmed here... I'll have to shut them down here, or push them back." Remuel then unleashed more fire and forcefully made them step backwards. "[The ocean current flows strongly through the world, pushing everything away]" Duke Elliot created a water shield which dispersed Remuel's fire instantly. "Shit, forgot that you're a water element user." Duke Elliot charged forward while dispersing the fire Remuel made. But since the dispersion of fire created vaporizing smoke, it was unclear for Duke Elliot to see things. Remuel dodged at the last second as Duke Elliot thrusted his sword towards a wall. Remuel grabbed his arm and landed a chopping strike into his eyelids, stunning him for the time being. Begona, who was behind Duke Elliot unleashed a burst of water towards Remuel without chanting. Out of survival instinct, Remuel ducked downwards and swept both of their legs. He then dashed towards the person who shapeshifted into Prince Oswald. He tried to slash Remuel with an enhanced body, but Remuel dodged in hairsbreadth and tried to knock him out with a high kick. The prince however dodged by stepping backward. Begona brought out two daggers and enchanted them with light magic, allowing them to glow in the dark room. "That's gonna be distracting..." Remuel's thoughts went around once again. He then noticed the sword the prince was holding started to glow with light magic. "How carefully thought up!" Remuel became impressed with the ability to plan out of Begona and Duke Elliot. Now Remuel faces Begona who had twin glowing daggers that can be distracting. And then a person who returned to his original form, it was one of the siblings that always accompanied Begona on Mt. Valtav, Chris Jefferson. Duke Elliot recovered and brought out a water sword behind Begona. Chris moved first and tried to strike Remuel from behind. It was dodged and immediately returned with a counterattack to Chris who had his neck gripped and pushed to the front of the jail wall. He blocked a strike from Remuel and tried to slash his sword from a tricky angle. Remuel dodged it by moving to the side, but Begona followed up by slashing multiple times with daggers. Remuel couldn't focus to Begona's eyes and received a bit of damage. Just as Remuel began using fire to repel them back, Duke Elliot moved in front of them and cut the fire. "Chris, kill the maids before they get even louder." Begona issued an order to Chris which made Remuel flinch his eyebrows. He then dashed forward and avoided attacks from Duke Elliot easily. But the light coming from Begona cost him a scratch on his cheek directly. After avoiding the rest of the attacks, he struck Chris on the gut with his knee and entered the jail cell with the two maids inside who are crying. Judging by their age, they're one year younger than Remuel. The one who served as the waitress had black hair in princess cut that only reached the shoulders. While the poison checker had long, gray, wavy hair. Both of them closed their eyes feeling the upcoming terror which was their death. However, instead of Chris appearing before them, what they saw was Remuel with a serious face in facing the wall of fire. "Can you two move to the other corner, I'll make sure both of you live through this." Remuel created a large scythe made out of pure fire after untying the maids. The wall of fire was cut in half for a split second before it recovered completely. "Quick, let's forget about Remuel and eliminate Draxus who is still unconscious!" Begona gave out instructions to Duke Elliot and they began to run out of the room. With those words that came out of her mouth, Remuel's eyes widened as his eyebrows lowered in anger. "I'll hold him back here!" Chris's voice resounded as footsteps started moving towards the exit of the dungeon. Remuel dispelled the wall of flame and took out his Desert Eagle model from the interdimensional storage. When Chris saw the gun, he immediately took cover from behind the wall. Three gunshots resounded as Remuel directly aimed at the chest. All three bullets missed their target. "Follow my lead." Remuel gaze instructions to the two maids as they started to follow behind him while covering their ears. Remuel found a small shadow from the light blade as it tried to make a stabbing pose. He pushed the two maids back a little and ducked to avoid the blade of light. After Chris missed his attack, he retreated to a position where he could hide from Remuel's Desert Eagle. Remuel exited the jail cell and fired bullets to the direction where Chris escaped. Two bullets flew and missed as Chris managed to hide. He urged the two maids to follow him slowly. Remuel rushed forward while removing the footsteps using sound magic. He then checked each corner and looked for Chris. After checking the second corner, his hand was grabbed and pushed upwards, forcing him to direct his gun to the ceiling. Chris then tried to cut off his arm with the light sword. But Remuel, who was faster, landed a kick towards Chris's gut, causing him to flinch. "I'll have you answer for your crimes." Remuel shot a bullet through Chris's shoulder and landed a very powerful kick to the face while Chris was in agony, causing him to pass out. With the help of the maids, they tied up Chris until he couldn't move an inch. The three of them rushed towards the research room as the others could be in danger.

Begona and Duke Elliot ran around the area while clearly avoiding Prince Oswald who is in the loose. After they arrived to the research room, Ulysses immediately questioned them. "Where's Remuel?" Begona, who had [Lying] as her special skill, lied as if it was breathing. "He's currently pursuing the shapeshifter. He had found the person." Ulysses moved in front of Begona and pointed his glaive at her. "Give up." Ulysses threatened Begona to simply give up simply smiled. Duke Elliot, who got the opportunity, tried to slash Victorina. Victorina reacted quickly and blocked it with her staff, causing the soundproofing barrier to be dispelled. "With this, the guards will come to catch Harold." Victorina tried to engulf Duke Elliot in flames but her fire was cut off with a water sword. Ulysses struck Begona in the gut and forced her to go down but Duke Elliot who moved behind her landed a powerful kick against Ulysses's chin, stunning him completely. Begona then held Ulysses's head and forced him to lose consciousness. "Sleep." Ulysses ended losing his focus for a few seconds which gave Duke Elliot the chance to aim for Harold. He was stopped by Victorina's fire which made him target her instead. His water pierced through her fire and caused her to panic. She was then stabbed on the left shoulder after attempting to dodge the water blade. "Ghh!!!" Some blood gushed as the water blade was pulled out. "I knew it was you all along..." Victorina spat out words out of anger as she looked Duke Elliot directly in the eyes. "That's a good face." Begona who got Ulysses unfocused unleashed a paralyzing strike to his chin. It caused some electricity to flow into his brain and temporarily paralyzed him. "The hero can't be this easy to be outwitted huh?" She then rushed towards Harold who is gritting his teeth while maintaining a barrier. In his mind, he was thinking very negatively. "Shit! Why does this barrier have to be so hard to maintain!" Lily and Julie came out from the barrier and blocked Begona's approach. Harold then saw Remuel with his gun on the hand. "Both of you, duck!" Both of them followed Harold's instruction out of instinct as a gunshot resounded. A bullet then pierced Begona's shoulder which made her turn to her back. She then saw Remuel along with the two maids that they had kidnapped. She was then put down by the twins.

Remuel entered the room and immediately looked for Duke Elliot. "Remuel!" Victorina's coarse shout resounded as she held her shoulder under Duke Elliot who is about to slice her head off. "You fucking shithead!" Remuel shot a bullet through Duke Elliot's left shoulder, causing him to drop his stance and look towards against Remuel. Without giving any reaction time, he was then kicked on the gut with full power and got knocked all the way to the wall. Remuel then dashed forward and gripped his face tightly. He then pulled the head back and smashed it to the wall once again, leaving a dent. He then smashed the back of his head onto the floor. After a lot of agony came out from Duke Elliot, Remuel discharged the remaining bullets in the magazine. A total of four bullets penetrated both of Duke Elliot's shoulders. He passed out on the spot from all the pain.

Remuel walked towards Begona who was being stopped by Lily and Julie. "Both of you have tried to reach your hand to royalty, and then my friends. Begona Wallowhart, I hope you enjoy your execution." Begona who heard Remuel's words widened her eyes as her head was stepped on by Remuel harshly, causing her to kiss the floor and pass out from pain. The king who heard the gunshots finally woke up. "W-What is going on here...?" Remuel walked back to Victorina slowly while responding to the king. "Knocking down the culprits who poisoned you..." He then took out bandages and wrapped it around her shoulder. The king was speechless to Remuel's tone while the prince returned to the research room. "R-Remuel!" He was ignored but he immediately understood what happened. Two pools of blood, and then the two culprits were apprehended. Remuel simply continued treating Victorina's injuries. "You good...?" Victorina responded with a small smile. "Yeah... Thanks for arriving just in time..." He then instructed Oswald to stop the guards from approaching. After some time, Draxus and Ulysses regained their consciousness. Remuel now has to wrap up all the things needed to work on.
