Isekai: The Eight Soul Fragments

A month and a half had passed since the group were summoned to the other world. The rumors had spread out through the country of Quisterion but the group simply allowed them to pass as nothing much will bring them misfortune until the riot. The idea was carefully planned by Serkyrio as they intend to create a country as a third party for mediation. He had sent the other three around the areas to go for a training period with their magic for two months. However, one group returned early.

Inside the capital, Arlesk was wandering around the town. with Collin and Jaquinn. Their group had four more friends that are staying around an inn in the capital. They had managed to complete their training as they moved around various places on the town towards the south. They had new kinds of weapons and they became much more powerful than ever before. Right now, they are around the eastern route as they walked around without much care. Arlesk had his Colt Commander holstered on his right pocket. On his left, a sword was beautifully sheathed under a black scabbard. It was a shining mithril sword that is enchanted carefully by Draxus. Their weapons were already completed and they had trained with it for an extended amount of time. Collin's weapon was a musket with a powerful scope, allowing him to snipe enemies from afar. Jaquinn's weapon are daggers with some runic scriptures embedded in it. The effect allows it to break barriers easily, making him a very powerful assassin. All three of them wore casual clothing as they didn't really have much to do.

"It's good to be back at this place." Jaquinn looked around the capital with nostalgia despite only being one month away. "By the way, there was a report where Draxus and Remuel already have their secretaries, what about you Arlesk?" Collin turned his gaze to Arlesk and asked him regarding the person that will serve the position as his secretary. "Honestly, I'm not that keen yet, their secretaries are literally their girlfriends right? I don't have one so I'm not gonna worry about it yet." Arlesk placed both of his arms behind his head while walking. He was stretching a little while pondering as he didn't have any plans as of yet. "Even though you've done a lot of heroic actions in the other towns. In fact, you're already popular with the women." Jaquinn grinned a little as Arlesk let out a dry laugh. Arlesk actually did a lot of saving as he looked around the town to the south. It went from dealing with guys that are trying to make girls uncomfortable, or various turmoil where the guards had to be called. In a sense, Arlesk was having peak popularity just from the amount of times he dealt with various kinds of men.

"Nevertheless, there's still some training remaining that we have to get through. Although we can pretty much just do whatever we want, we should still try to check around the castle since we need to find Remuel." Arlesk looked up to the castle and pondered about their plans for the next thing to do. They need to find Remuel in the castle but due to Serkyrio's announcement, they can't just head to the castle in daylight. "What do we need Remuel for again?" Collin asked Arlesk who was thinking about some things. "Well... First, we need a lot of details since we need to help them gather various resources for their research." Arlesk took out his phone which has the list of items and the ones that are checked. "So we're still missing some stuff? Where do we get these?" Jaquinn points at the listed items that don't have a check in them. "That's why we need Remuel, he knows where these things are. After knowing what and where, we get Harold to use gate for us." Jaquinn and Collin nodded as they waited for the night to arrive.

The second it hit nighttime, Remuel eventually showed himself to pick them up. "Yo, finally time for us to hang around the castle again." Arlesk had brought everyone with him so that they can join them. All four of their other companions were female. Two of them were girlfriends of Jaquinn and Collin, while the other two were adventurer's they encountered having trouble on a quest. "Let me introduce these two to you first. Both of them are mages and actually pretty talented with it." Arlesk introduced the two adventurer girls who are nervous of having to enter the castle. One of them had long, straight, purple hair and eyes. She had an average height for a female teenager as she is around seventeen years old. She's named as Hecate, she shook Remuel's hand nervously. The other girl was somewhat of a shy type with her long, but wavy orange hair. She's named Amber due to her eye color. "Greetings..." Remuel simply smiled a little and turned his head to Arlesk. "Say, are you about to start a harem as we- Gufu!!" Remuel was then shot by a rubber bullet to the gut from Arlesk through quick draw skills. "The hell was that for?!" Arlesk simply laughed a little and holstered the gun on his hand, he then gave Remuel his answers. "I'm not sure whether to go for harem just yet. I want things to settle down before I try to look for a suitable woman." Arlesk turned his gaze at Remuel before letting out another thing. "Besides, if I heard it correctly, didn't you also get a harem just like Draxus?" Remuel turned his head away instantly and avoided eye contact. The rest of the group started to laugh at their interactions and shrugged off the details. After some time, Remuel finally brought out the [Amalgam of Destiny]. "[Amalgam of Occult Philosophy], [Amalgam of Bible]" Devil wings grew out of Remuel and spread the effect to the others using a new amalgam effect. Each member temporarily grew out wings so that they could fly to the castle. They then went towards the research room and found Harold hanging around there. "Ooh, you've arrived! That's good, since you're here, we should meet the royalty group for now. We need to get your rooms arranged so we can begin by tomorrow." Harold beckoned the others to find the royal family.

After they had a discussion on the rooms, Arlesk remained awake as the others went to their rooms from exhaustion. He then asked Harold and Remuel regarding the missing items. "It's great that you guys are already capable of hunting those monsters around. But the rest of these are around the far ends of the country so we may have to transport you guys via gate." Harold leaned back to the couch and finally let himself loose after a long day of research. Remuel then explained the source of materials "Anyways, we need these items that can only be found in various places. First things first, arcane dragons are very rare to locate. But you guys need to find and kill one around the northwest of this country. We need you to get vials of blood samples, tissues, and probably an organ. They're all powerful mana sources and could allow us to supply the huge amount of mana this dimensional gate will make us use. And then we need a monster from a different country. It should be in the country that's in the dead center of this world map. Harold can only bring you up to the edge of that country so finding the monster is up to you. This monster is called a span golem which has abilities to control time. You need to extract the core from the golem which will be tricky. Let's settle with those two for now since they're the most difficult in my opinion." Remuel inclined his back to the couch and took a sip of the tea. Lynx and Noelle were on standby while Victorina is sitting next to him, reading a book about arcane magic. "So how are we going to look for these monsters?" Arlesk questioned Remuel and Harold regarding their locations. "As for the arcane dragon, we analyzed the map that contained all the mana concentrations. There are three spots here with powerful concentrations in the northwest. You may find that dragon here on the red spot." When Arlesk saw the 3D projected map, there are various markings that have been placed on it. He found multiple circles with varied sizes and different colors. With red having high concentrations and green having minimal concentrations. Yellow was the in-between color. "There's only one red here in this country, so you might encounter a different monsters that are absorbing the concentrated mana and it will mutate into something troublesome. So if you get rid of the dragon which is the center, you could slowly eliminate the growing concentration and remove the chances of monster mutations." Remuel explained the rest of the details as he brought out various important info for Arlesk. After a long night, Arlesk returned to his room. "Dang, it's already so busy again..." He went to his bed and slept for the night.
