Isekai: The Eight Soul Fragments

Around 2330, Wesley woke up to begin his preparations. He checked his daggers if the magic infused in it has been used up or not. It's a function that allows him to cut off magic attacks and barriers with ease to prevent any annoying tactics by the enemy. After checking that, he took out the rest of the equipment which included night vision goggles, the paravolt rod, and the EMP grenade that was given to him by Draxus. He then went around the bed to wake up Mitch who was his roommate. "Mitch, should be about time now... Get up." Wesley shook the sleeping Mitch as he calmly woke him up. Eventually Mitch drowsily opened his eyes from being constantly shaken by Wesley. "Huh...? Is it time...?" Wesley nodded as Mitch gently wiped his heavy eyelids. "Aight, I'll go prep now." Mitch began his preparations as to check whether he's pretty much ready for the mission. "Good, I'll go wake up the rest now." Wesley then left the room as Mitch began checking all his equipment. After exiting the room, he found Audrey stretching her body. Her height is somewhat taller than Wesley with decent proportions to her body. She then tied her hair to a ponytail for the time being as she saw Wesley. "Oh, is the mission starting soon?" Audrey turned her gaze at Wesley while letting out a surprised expression. "Yeah, I'm gonna have to wake up the others though." Audrey waved her hands in a way to signify that it's no longer necessary. "There's no need to wake them up, they're already awake and now preparing things for the mission." Wesley loosened his shoulders while sighing out of relief. "Thanks, how about your preparations?" Audrey simply shrugged her shoulders while giving a lighthearted reply. "Mine's done already, so I'm waiting for everyone else." Wesley smiled a little from the reply in which his wait was shortened up. "Great, now we have to wait for these three." After some time waiting, Mitch, Keith, and Viceroy went out of their rooms with fully prepared gear for stealth missions. "Ready guys?" Wesley raised that question once more to the four members that are participating on the mission. Keith nodded as he equipped his night vision goggles that were nicely made by Draxus. "Yep! I gotta say, Draxus is really crafty for our equipment. The night vision goggles makes us look like spies with neat equipment." Viceroy added information after laughing a little. "Well, we are technically going to be spies today." Mitch who heard the word [Spies] immediately started using his interdimensional storage. "What's up Mitch?" Audrey turned her gaze at Mitch who was bringing out some equipment. What appeared was five [Walther PPK] pistol models with a bunch of magazines filled with paralytic rubber bullets. "Since we're going to act as spies, why don't we go in uniform with our weapons as well?" Wesley smiled and took one gun as he sheathed the daggers. He then checked the amount of bullets which reached about twenty rubber bullets per magazine. He was handed a few magazines which carried the same amount of bullets. "I wonder how Draxus got to fit twenty bullets per magazine... But this is still pretty nice regardless." Keith loaded his gun as he temporarily hid his kusarigama in the interdimensional storage. "Let's head out." The four other people nodded on Wesley's words as they walked out of the building and began moving roof to roof towards the southwest of the town walls. There were night guards moving around but they completely avoided them as they hid under the walls inside the bushes.

"Uhh... Do you guys have a silencer...?" Audrey was looking at the pistol that was given to her by Mitch. "Ah, my bad, I forgot to give you one." Mitch handed a silencer to Audrey as she began attaching it to the gun. The five of them then waited for an hour and a half with nothing but uneventful hours on the night. Wesley decided to continue staying on guard to watch while the other four decided to play [UNO]. "Red three..." Keith discards one of his three remaining cards as he kept a powerful poker face. Audrey had a smug expression despite having cards numbering in double digits. Mitch and Viceroy were simply playing normally with both having one card left. It is now her turn that she let down a +2 card. "Heh heh heh." With a smug grin, Mitch simply shrugged it off and lowered his last card which is also a +2. Viceroy did the same thing except that he dropped a +4 and announced the color to be green. Keith sobbed for a second but lowered one of his two cards which is a +4. He considered it for a bit before announcing which color he'll ask for. "Red." Audrey laughed grandly without getting too loud as she lowered down another +4 card. "It doesn't matter as long as I have another +4!" Keith sighed as he began getting twelve cards. After getting sixteen cards, he placed them under Audrey's hand as he placed down his last card which was another +4. He then took four more cards from the deck and sent them to Audrey while showing a smug face. "Heh, get shredded." Mitch, and Viceroy who saw how Keith destroyed Audrey in UNO let out an [Ooffff!!] voice without getting too loud. Audrey herself was covering her face from the shame of getting destroyed by Keith who was in turn, showing the smug face. Wesley turned his gaze to check on them and he immediately understood what happened. "Ah, she got the [Draxus's Shameful Disrespect]." Their game extended for about twenty minutes as they had about eight sets of UNO cards which was kept by Keith. After some more time, the night got even more silent as 0145 hit. The five of them were silently watching the side while completely erasing their presence. Not even five minutes hit that Keith began talking in a low voice. "I gotta say... This is boring as heck..." Wesley immediately shunned him as he detected a presence coming around. "Shh... Patience... Somebody's coming..." After waiting for half a minute, one person became visible as he walked towards the town. A pair met him and discussed a little bit of things. The five of them eavesdropped on the conversation. "Chris, we lost contact of your younger brother. We tried to locate him through his phone and we only found..." The person who talked to Chris was a feminine voice filled with dominating aura. The person who accompanied her utilized interdimensional storage and brought out the corpse of Eric. "Eric!" Chris kneeled down and mourned for his dead brother. "Whoops, we forgot to dispose the corpse..." Wesley let out a small mutter but the person with the blue hair began looking around as if he noticed something. Wesley turned his eyes to the members and signified them with his eyes to be completely still. The blue haired person then immediately whispered something to the woman. They then left the area as the two followed Chris who was carrying the corpse of Eric.

While following Chris, the blue haired man turned his gaze to the woman. "What is it Elliot?" Elliot, turned away his gaze as it wandered around for quite a bit. "I feel like someone's following us. I can't detect any presences around though." Chris was in front of them as he sobbed from his brother's irrecoverable death. "Begona, do you think it's possible to revive him...?" Begona shook her head slowly sideways and gave a reply. "We could... But he would be an entirely different person... However, we cannot allow ourselves to be followed right now. Do you mind if you stay here for a bit and stop the pursuers? Their aim might be our base, and it would be dangerous if anybody from the [Tranquil Harmony] or [Royalties] to find it. I'll tell Chris to go towards the dummy base first until you contact us. You know how to use a phone right?" Elliot nodded as Begona handed over Eric's phone to Elliot. Elliot then stood still and channeled his mana. "[Humid Web]" A nearly invisible line of water extended from him in all directions as he prepared for possible attacks. Begona and Chris simply continued walking forward.

"That dude just remained there... This could mean that we should stop here or face him..." Wesley clicked his tongue inaudibly as he took out one dagger and held the pistol with his right hand. "Let's see how he fares against us... Move around sl- !!" Before they even noticed, Wesley instantly got surrounded by strings of water. "Wesley!" Audrey shouted as she prepared electric magic to disperse the water. Then a voice from the distance became audible. "It seems the [Order of the Crystallized Sentinels] have come. They look like an [Order of Pests] to us no matter how we look at it." Elliot stood on one side as he concentrated his energy to the five people in front of him as he maintained a distance of twenty meters. Wesley sliced off the strings of water easily with his dagger and immediately shot a few bullets. "Paralytic bullets?" The momentum of the bullets were dispersed from the water barrier that was made without even chanting. "No use, [Humid Web] allows me to utilize my water magic to the fullest. I'll have to eliminate you five and deliver your heads to Draxus!" Audrey used her electric magic to disintegrate the strings wrapping around the other members. "T-Thanks Aud, this guy will be trouble." Mitch hid his pistol and brought out his sniper rifle instead. Just as he aimed towards Elliot, the person disappeared into the ground and began emitting bubbles from the ground. He then moved around in high speeds which got Wesley to pour mana to his goggles. "Everyone! Change to mana detection!" Everyone immediately changed the settings of their goggles on the spot to detect mana. Elliot then appeared behind Audrey and Mitch and prepared to slice them with his two water swords. "Khh! [Time Zero]!" Mitch stopped time for a split second to push Audrey away and dodge the attacks of Elliot which could've killed them. After the slash, Keith didn't waste that chance and immediately brought out the [Spirit of Earth] which he changed the nickname from [Star Platinum] to [Life Breaker]. The [Spirit of Earth] unleashed a single powerful strike aimed at Elliot's gut, but it was barely blocked by Elliot. A flurry was attempted but Elliot disappeared into the ground and distanced himself. "Hmhmm... Seems like you guys have trained quite a bit to be able to face an enemy hero easily. But of course, I've also gone and powered myself up quite a lot since I became part of the [People from Earth] organization. How about we face here right now to see who can come out on top." Elliot showed a fearless smile as he prepared two swords of water and formed a stance. Wesley simply muttered as they formed a battle ready stance. "This is why we don't wait for too long to ambush..."
