Chapter 2: Red Eyes

Wow I can't believe I didn't see this earlier. Infront of me and the group who was a little ahead of me stood a tower that was easily the tallest in town with the words written LID at the top of it.

"On behalf of my fellow students, welcome to the Leo institute of duelling." said the boy I know knew as Sylvio. A weird name I know.

"woow." expressed everyone. Even I was impressed by how amazing the place looked. As we walked through the place, I witness the multiple students and duel going on.

"As you probably know the institute is managed by the Leo corporation. They have spared no expense to turn our school into the world's top duelling institutions. Yes, we have only the best."

"This place produced lots of champions," said the little blue haired kid

"I know that's why their top of the top," responded the little green haired kid

"I've heard that they have the best equipment too."

"Our faculty has always said that if you want to achieve excellence then you must surround yourself with excellence," said Sylvio with pride

"It's just like at You Show, but we surround ourselves with ... mediocrity"

"I've heard that You Showis an ok school."

THANKS FOR THE COMPLIMENT, I GUESS YOUR SCHOOL IS BETTER AT EVERYTHING," shouted the pink haired girl

"Oh no not at everything. My mom said You Show is a lot cheaper," said the small round kid as the Sylvio just laughed

"I've got to admit this place has a lot of things our school can't offer their classes are unbelievable. You can learn xyz, synchro summoning, wow, they even teach fusion summoning"

I noticed a blue haired kid with a lollipop looking at his as soon as he said fusion summoning before he walked off.

'What was that about,' I thought before Yuya and I heard- "Yuya," from the pink haired girl

"The central Dueling zone is this way," Sylvio pointed.

As we made our way there (the other kids still not noticing I was following them) I made a mental note to come back here and challenge some people. I wanted to see if this place was as great as they say it is, hopefully, i'll get to duel now.

'Maybe they can help in the fight with dual academy'

In the duel zone

Everyone looked mesmerised at the place. I had to admit the zone was impressive to say the least. I quickly hid in the sitting area around the field.

Three other smug looking kids from Leo walked towards the group.

'Is everyone from this place so full of themselves? I wonder if their Duelling skills are actually that good.' I thought

"Hey," said one of them, his voice already annoying the hell out of me.

"These gents have also become big fans of yours, their curios about the cards you used to pendulum summon," Sylvio explained, "you wouldn't mind if they could take a look"

"Show.. them.. my.. cards?"

"No need to worry, their best buds with me," said Sylvio

"Well ok," as Yuya brought out two yugioh cards and showed them to Sylvio. I immediately frowned knowing something wasn't right.

Sylvio snatched them out of Yuya hands and said, "See"

"Wow, amazing."

"So, I can pendulum summon with these cards."

"This one is mine."

"Gentlemen please," Sylvio took them out of his hands with a dark look. "you can't have these pendulum cards, they aren't yours," looking over to Yuya. "Their mine, I'm adding them to my rare card collection."

'Saw that from a mile away...'

"That's not amusing Sylvio." said yuzu

"I wasn't being funny, I happen to prefer rare cards, in my opinion they are the only cards that are worth collecting, your cards are so unique I simply can't resist them," Sylvio explained smugly as his friends started laughing.

"Oh, so that's the reason you invited Yuya to your school," Yuzu said sharply

"They are not the only reason," Sylvio tucked them away safely in his jacket. "naturally, I need to learn how to use the card. You still want Yuya to show you how to pendulum summon right," Sylvio asked his friends

"For sure"

"I can't wait"

"That's why I reserved the main duel zone for our showdown," Sylvio said as he put his duel disk on

"Well, your gonna have to call and cancel," responded Yuya

"Excuse me? After I went through all this trouble", he said as he walked towards them. "you better snap to it," he grabbed Yuya's googles and released them towards his face sending him flying backwards. I frowned not liking this at all.

"I don't want to get rough, so I suggest you get your head in the game and your deck in order." Sylvio loomed over them like a towering figure about to beat them up. Suddenly his duel disk started ringing before a voice spoke out

"Dueling wasn't part of the plan; your order was to retrieve the cards and bring them immediately"

'Aah so there is another mastermind behind this. I knew there was no way this idiot looking guy could have come up with this on his own.' I thought as I looked at Sylvio with disgust. I decided then that I was gonna teach this kid a lesson.

From the other side

"Do not try to defy us! Report here immediately with the cards an-,"

"no, let him be," said an unknown figure who was climbing up

"Mr president," the man in the black suit said with respect

"Do not interfere with Sylvio. Besides I want to see who this intruder we have here is," he said as he looked towards the stand where Kai was hiding.

Back in the zone

"Now let's get on with it," Sylvio snapped his fingers as the goons started taking Yuya's friends aside with force.

"Sylvio, tell them to let my friends go," Yuya commanded

"Your friends are perfectly safe. At least they are for the moment until our duel gets under way."

"What do u mean," Yuya said with frustration.

"You'll see, btw I have something for you," Sylvio took out a deck of cards from the floor and threw them at Yuya's feet. "I'm offering these in exchange for your pendulum cards, I knew you would like them because they are worthless like you," Sylvio started laughing like a madman.

"No card is worthless," Yuya whispered as he picked up the cards, "This isn't exactly a fair trade"

"Your right it isn't Yuya Sakaki," I said coming out from the stands. Everyone looked at me shocked

"What! Who are you?" shouted Sylvio

"The guy that is about to kick your sorry ass," I responded

"How did u get in here?" he asked

"I followed you here," I said as I took out my blue duel disk from inside my pocket, "I've been following y'all here from the school."

I walked over to Yuya and put a hand on his shoulder

"Sorry Yuya, I hope u don't mind me taking over this duel. Ill kick this guy's ass and get your cards for you no sweat," I said with a thumbs up.

Yuya seemed to snap out of whatever shocked dazed he was in and spoke.

"Huh, wait I can't ask you to do that. I don't even know you and its my battle. I can't put u in danger like that"

I sweat dropped

"Danger? You mean this guy." I pointed a Sylvio as he growled at me, "Please I've faced way better duellists then him and come out on top. I may not know him or his deck but the fact that he needs to steal your cards says a lot about his skills."

"What please don't be so full of yourself. You have any idea who you are talking about. I'm Sylvio, one of the best students at the Leo Dueling Institute I-"

"If you're seriously the best then I may have to rethink my decision to come back challenge some of the students later," I said with a frown, "now are we gonna duel or do you need to take some of my best cards to beat me to?"

Sylvio growled at me

"Fine if you're that desperate for a beating I'm welcome to show you what a real duellist is capable of"

Back in the dark room

"Are we sure about this Mr president"

"Yeah, like I said I'm interested in what this mystery duellist is capable of," he said as he studied the smiling Kai in the screen

'He might prove to be a powerful duellist. I can tell by the way he carries himself. He talks as if he has had lots of experience. We may need that in the future'

"If you say so Mr President"

"Now lets see just how good you are"

Back in the zone

"Since you already told me your name ill tell you mine. Its kai," I said as I got my deck box from the side of my trousers and put the cards in my duel disk. Yuya tried getting to his friends, but Sylvio's friends blocked him.

"Well Kai, you are going to wish you never challenged the great Sylvio," He said with a smug smile, "Now let's select an action field. Yuya lets hope your friends aren't afraid of heights, because my choice of field will take them all sky high. I choose Prison Tower Of Darkvill"

I looked surprise thinking what the hell he was talking about before an unknown voice rang out across the field

"Augmented reality combat system energized, generating action field"

Zuzu started screaming as the floor brightened up. The place suddenly changed taking them to the sky as they were suddenly on top of a tower.

"It would be a terrible waste to have a prison tower without prisoners don't you think," he said smugly towards Yuya

"What the hell is this how did the place suddenly change?" I exclaimed in shock as I stood there dumbfounded.

"What's this, you don't know about Action fields?" Sylvio asked

"Action what?"

Sylvio started laughing like a madman

"You mean to tell me that you challenge me without know what an action field is?"

"Was I supposed to?" I asked

"Kai, are you from around here," Asked Yuya

"Huh? Oh no I'm not I just arrived here earlier today," I rubbed my head in embarrassment

"That makes sense. Well allow me to explain then. You see here we duel in what is known as an action duel. Where we are at is an action field. Its basically a field spell that is played at the start of every action duel"

"Oh, I see, But why Though?"

Yuya shrugged

"To make it more fun I guess,"

"Well then I guess its going to make crushing Sylvio even more fun"

"Hahahaha, you still think you have any chance of winning? From what I gather your out of town, your duelling skills must be mediocre at best. In this duel we are going to learn everything about pendulum summoning then ill use it against you Yuya after I win."

"I don't know what a pendulum summon is, but I do know that you're not going to win so lets stop yapping and duel already"

'He doesn't know what pendulum summoning is. This is going to be easier than I thought. I'm going to make him beg for mercy"

Card suddenly flew everywhere from the sky

"What's this," I said once again surprised

"These are action cards. You can collect them at any point in the duel to get them out of sticky situations"

"Enough talk, Ill be starting this duel," said Sylvio who was starting to get impatient

"I'll summon, Lightning hoverboard"

A monster with yellow points coming out of it appeared floating in the air.

Alright now it's my turn I said as I drew.

Sylvio suddenly jumped on his hoverboard and flew off

"Huh hey where the hell are you going," I shouted

Like I said you can get action fields which can help at any point in the game. Since the action fields fell all the way over there, Sylvio is probably going to where they are," Yuya responded

"Oh I see, alright its currently my turn. I said ill show you the difference in our skill so allow me to do just that. Ill use the effect of my Red Eyes Black meteor dragon from my hand," I shouted as I ran to catch up to him. "By sending a lv 5 or higher normal monster from my hand or deck to the grave I can special summon it to the field. I send red eyes black dragon."

"WHAT!" Sylvio exclaimed shocked and a little scared. "He summoned a level 6 monster on his first turn!"

Everyone looked at the monster mesmerised by its scary figure.

"Don't worry Sylvio ill go easy on you because its only the first turn." I said with a mocking smirk which irritated Sylvio greatly, "Ill attack your monster now," My red eyes started moving to fire out a red blast at Sylvio.

"Hahaha You activated my trap card," Sylvio shouted, "I activate threatening roar, your monster may be scary but even it, shudders in fear by my amazing powers," a load roar suddenly rang out, stopping my monster in its track.

I sweat dropped as Sylvio's meat ridders started singing out and cheering for Sylvio.

"Very well, I'll set a face down and end my turn, your move"

"Not so smug now huh, i draw."

Their duel had moved to a bridge as Kai and Sylvio stared menacingly at each other. Yuya was at one end of the bridge praying that kai would get the friends out safe while the other Leo students where on the other end smirking and cheering for Sylvio.

"I've toed with you long enough Kai; I activate pot of greed giving me two more cards"

Sylvio drew two more cards before he smirked

"It must be my lucky day, I don't need this lightning hoverboard anymore, Ill tribute it so ill can activate the spell tribute trade. I can add a monster to my hand as long as it's one level higher than the monster I just tributed"

Sylvio took out one card from his deck before showing it to me

"Stargazer Magician I hope your ready to work some magic"

"That card better have a good effect otherwise it isn't going to help much"

Sylvio started laughing again

"What's so funny," I snapped

"Kai this isn't looking good. That's one of my cards Stargazer Magician. It's a pendulum monster that lets you pendulum summon"

"Why do I keep hearing pendulum summoning. I've never heard of this summoning before,"

'Is it a summoning that exclusive to the standard dimension? If so, why didn't he mention it"

"Haha allow me to show just what it is –" However, he got cut off as a voice once again came from his duel disk as he looked at it. The others couldn't hear it, but I could.

"Do exactly as I tell you,"

"If you insist for my first move ill use scale 1 Stargazer magician and scale 8 Time gazer magician to set the pendulum scale."

Sylvio put the two cards on the opposite ends of his duel disk as the magic started happening. I stood in awe as from both sides of pillars of light arose as his monsters came out from them. The numbers 1 and 8 stood proudly below them.

"PENDULUM SUMMON!"

A hole appeared in the middle of it as three lights escaped from it.

"Monsters emerge! Allow me to introduce Power Dart Stricker, along with its colleague Rocket Dart Stricker, and the most powerful of my trio, ultimate dart striker"

"Hahaha I actually did it, on my first try," He laughed, "Oh thank you Yuya for the cards, now I truly am pendulum master"

Yuya looked speechless, "No way… It worked."

Everyone looked at his monsters in disbelief. Yuzu especially. She knew how hard Yuya worked to get it mastered and Sylvio got it on his first try.

Sylvio looked at me, "What's wrong, surprised huh? Now with these three monsters my victory is assured HAHAHAHAAA," Sylvio laughed

I just stood there with my hair overshadowing my eyes

"Pendulum ability –," I started. Then I suddenly looked up, "IS AMAZING!"

"EEEEHHH!" everyone said with surprise.

"Wow you gotta tell me how you did. You where like scale this and scale that and then you just summoned soo many monsters. You call this pendulum summoning right wow this is soo amazing. I've never seen something like this. This duel is getting me sooo pumped up. Alright Sylvio, lets continue I got a duel to win then after your telling me about this pendulum summoning." I suddenly locked in determined to beat this guy.

Sylvio just looked at me surprised before shrugging

"Fine if you want to lose so quickly. Ultimate Dart Stricker attack Kai's Red-Eyes Black Meteor Dragon"

Darts flew out as they headed for my dragon. Hitting their marks, my dragon was destroyed

"Now my Rocket Dart Stricker attack his point directly"

His monsters fired more torpedoes at me

"I don't think so," I spoke up, "I activate the trap Scrap-iron Scarecrow"

"What?"

Suddenly a scarecrow appeared in front of me hitting it instead

"This trap negates the attack and what's more can set the card face-down instead of sending it to the graveyard"

My trap face down once more

"Tch, so what, I still have my Power Dart Stricker now attack him directly"

His last monster attacked, this time hitting its mark

"HAHAHAA you may have saved yourself from destruction but no matter ill finish you on my next turn," Gloated Sylvio, "I end my turn"

Now it was my turn to start laughing

"What's so funny?" asked Sylvio

"Oh nothing, it's just funny that you think your having a next turn," Kai laughed, "Its time I stop holding back and start duelling for real"

For some reason, this started scaring Sylvio as he took a step back. He shook his head to snap out of it.

"Heh, I wont fall for your mind games. You have no monsters while I have three what makes you think you're going to win."

"I guess you just gotta watch and find out, my turn I DRAW," I said.

"Your pendulum summoning was great, but I guess I gotta give that to Yuya since its his cards. Unfortunately, the rest of your monsters are just targets for my monsters to take advantage of. I only need two cards in my hand to win this duel. You already showed me your summoning but allow me to show you mine."

The three kids on the tower started cheering for me

"Good luck Kai"

"You got this kai"

"Ye, kick his but"

"You bet I will, first allow me to thank you for destroying my monster. I needed it in the graveyard to summon my special monster," I thanked Sylvio who was getting angrier and and angrier by the second. "Now the conditions have been met, I use the spell card Dragon Mirror. This card allows me to fusion summon by banishing the materials from my field and grave"

"But you only have one monster in your graveyard and your field is empty," Sylvio said

"Wrong, if you remember correctly, I sent a monster to summon my red eyes in the first place. So now I actually have TWO MONSTERS," I said before raising my left hands in the air, "I banish my Red-Eyes Black Meteor Dragon and my Red-Eyes Black Dragon to fusion summon

Covered in the very volcano he dwells in rises a monster with the power of a meteorite. SHOW YOURSELF METEOR BLACK COMET DRAGON"

IN THE DARK ROOM

"Sir we are detecting massive fusion energy from the duel," said another one with a black suit

"It must be from that boy," said the president as he continued studied it and the monster through screen, "Have we gathered any information on where he is from yet?"

"No sir there isn't any information about Kai Akimoto," responded the black suit man

"Alright then keep searching,"

Back to the duel

Everyone stared at the massive dragon covered with flames in awe and shook

Sylvio stepped back, "Wh-what is that," he said in shock and fear.

"The dragon that's going to win me this duel. Also, if you thought I was done your sadly mistake. I use the spell card Red-Eyes Fusion."

"Another fusion?" asked Sylvio

"I guess your not as dumb as you look." A tick mark appeared on Sylvio's face, "This spell card allows me to fusion summon using material from my hand, field and my deck."

"YOUR DECK!" Everyone exclaimed shocked as they had never even heard of a fusion summon using monsters from the deck.

"That's right and I know precisely what I'm sending. I send my Dark Magician and my Red-Eyes Black Dragon to the graveyard in order to special summon Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon"

IN THE DARK ROOM

"Sir, it's ANOTHER strong fusion energy and its coming from the same duel, its just as powerful as the last"

"I can see that," the president said,

'These fusion summoning clearly too strong to be from this dimension. I wonder could he be from the fusion dimension and if so, how many others are he with him. I didn't expect Leo Akaba too be attacking so soon'

Back to the duel

Sylvio fell on his but as he was staring down to insanely strong looking monsters. His monsters seem to also cower at the sight of them.

"Scared Sylvio, because I haven't even begun to show them their unrivalled power."

Sylvio gritted his teeth before remembering something. HIS FACE DOWN! It was magic cylinder. Sylvio then smirked. 'He doesn't stand a chance. The moment he attacks, my trap card will send it flying right back, wiping out the rest of his life points.' Sylvio though as he laughed evilly. However, his smile soon dropped as Kai did the following.

"I active Meteor Black Comet Dragon's effect. Once per turn, I can send 1 red-eyes monster from my hand or deck to the grave and deal you dmg equal to half its attack points. I send my Red-Eyes Archfiend of Lightning which has 2500atk, so my monster deals you 1250dmg."

The mighty dragon roared as a small meteor appeared in its arm before he through it towards Sylvio. Sylvio ran in fear however it landed its mark, sending him flying.

"Now for my Red-Eyes Dark Dragons effect my monster can target one monster you control and deal you damage up to its original attack points."

"Wait but that means-"

"Yes, this duel is over I destroy your Ultimate Dart Stricker and deal you 2400dmg"

Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon raised its hands as a big fireball appeared in its hands. He targeted towards Ultimate Dark Stricker as it shot off like a bullet. The monster stood no chance as it exploded upon contact creating a big explosion.

"NOOOOO-,"shouted Sylvio as he was sent flying.
