Chapter 1: I'm getting married?

CHAPTER 1; The marriage Proposal

Liana hummed a song as she made her way to her parents room to bid them goodnight as she had earlier missed dinner. However, the moment she got close to their door, she heard her Father' stern voice

"Calm down Vera, there's no point in shouting"

Moving closer to the door and placing her hand on the knob, she heard her mother's angry voice

"How could you even think that I'd graciously agree to a marriage Proposal between my innocent daughter and that monster? You are the king of Ravens peak, The Alpha king" Her mother shouted "and you are willing to get your daughter married to The King of Vampires ? I will never hand my daughter to him. Never!!!"

"Do you really think I don't know that? Do you actually think I...." Her father's voice echoed in the room sending thunderbolts down her skin as she remained frozen waiting for him to complete his sentence

"..We don't really have a choice Vera and you know that right?. Not after what that ungrateful son of ours did and you are fully aware of it, it's either we give her hand to him just like the treaty statedsaid avert the disaster waiting to happen"

she heard her father sigh before he continued

" or we don't which spells out a very bloody war"

Vera looked into her husband's eyes without responding to him, she grabbed the sheets of their bed while her body trembled so much that her cheeks looked as pale as a ghost, her husband moved closer to her on the bed and held her hands

"I feel this is the safest and easiest way to end the chaos that has been going on for years now. Even if he doesn't care about her or has no use for her at least she will be safe and the chaos would be settled" Reginald said

"Safe?" Vera laughed mockingly as tears rolled down her eyes

" You of all people know that we live in constant fear of him and his wrath, you must be a fool to believe that she would be safe with him" she said in a voice filled with anger

" I'm pretty sure his hatred for us runs deeper than that Pacific ocean especially after what Francis did"

Liana's eyes filled with tears her body trembled and quivered.

"The King of Vladkarya gave his word that she won't be treated harshly" Her father's angry voice echoed

"They won't kill her or harm her, it is better that she is uncomfortable than to have the entire family, my kingdom destroyed."

" It is of our benefit that such mercy was shown to us in the first place. The vampires and werewolves have been at war for years now, this is literally the light at the end of the tunnel for both races. Liana's marriage to him will happen whether you like it or not"

Liana finally pushed the door open with tears in her eyes and her parents looked at her shocked. Completely riled up, she turned from the door and ran towards the stairs. "Liana" her mother screamed trying to run after her but Hawthorne held her hands

" let her be, vera"

Liana ran down the stairs, past the main hall, out the castle and into the darkness her heart racing wildly. She made way towards the place she had made a safe haven, through the chilly wind, under the night sky that shone with glitters made from the stars

it was a place she had etched into her memory ever since she and her brother were kids. She felt the urge to shift and escape the marriage but was that even possible, unlike girls her age she had yet to transform.

She made way towards a massive tree whose branches hung naked and exposed except for a few leaves that dangled loosely on it. Liana walked through the grasses and trees towards the edge of the cliff, As she walked she sniffed the air inhaling the scent of the damp ground and the sweet fragrance of the flowers.

Liana hauled herself over a high thick log that sat not too far from the edge of the cliff and sat atop it making her legs dangle in the air. The cliff opened right into a valley that overlooked the pack, she stood up and walked extremely close to the edge, bringing her hands to her cheeks that had become damp from crying, she cleaned her moist eyes

"Why do I have to pay the price of something I had no part in?" She spoke while looking at the moon

"why must it be me? Couldn't be ask for something else in return for peace why must it be me?".

As a young girl she had always dreamed of finding her mate and falling head over heels in love with him, and now she was about to be forced to marry a man she had never met, not just any man he was a king, a king that was probably as old as her father and he was a vampire of all beings. But then it wasn't anybody's fault, she was of royal blood so of course

Vampires and werewolves have been sworn enemies for as long as she had remembered. Their hatred ran way deeper than the deepest rivers, she had heard stories of how the vampires sucked their victims dry of any blood, she had once seen a dead soldier that had been recovered at the boundary between both kingdoms and it was a sight she had never wanted to remember ever.

"It's a lovely weather to try and end one's self is it not?"

Startled as hell, Liana went completely numb she quickly turned around to see who it was. She had been here a thousand times and had never encountered a single living soul and animal, well except for the cute birds. She caught a glimpse of a hooded person close to the massive tree that matched the darkness but was noticeable due to the gust of wind that kept blowing his cloak in different directions.

His musculine scent flooded not only her nose but also her sense. He smelled like chocolate musk and oak. Her fight and survival instinct kicked in, she quickly picked up a rock from the ground.

"Who are you and what do you want?" She muttered, goosebumps forming on her skin
