she couldn't move a muscle as the man had pinned her tightly against the hard tree all she could do was quietly breathe into his palm and stare into his deep black eyes and his very handsome face.

Being an inch away from him she could clearly see how well chiseled his face was. It was quite difficult for her to turn her gaze away from his face as he kept on looking at her admiring her delicate features from her tender eyes to her porcelain colored face.

After what seemed like an eternity, he finally let her go ad the sound continued to fade into the darkness. She seethed " How dare you, who do you think you are !!!"

" How dare I what? Save you and your reputation" He said looking at her with a hint of fake sadness in his voice

"Me and my reputation wouldn't have needed any form of saving if you had just minded your business and not bother me" she fired back at him before she started walking away

"You're welcome, hope to see you again Diamond" he said as he watched her back and glossy silver hair disappear into the night.

Liana casually walked through the gates of the castle as though nothing bizarre had happened to her, and made way to her room. She had her changed her clothes and lazily crashed into her bed.

"Lily" Her mothers voice ringed in her ears creating a sharp bang " Are you okay my love, its almost noon! Get up!!"

"Oh mother let me sleep some more" The girl protested,she had been up all night that all she wanted was to forget about the events of the previous day and just sleep

"Get out of bed my love and get ready, your father and I need to talk to you" said Queen Vera

Liana opened her eyes and stared at her mother for a while " I'm really not interested in what you all have to say mother"

Her mother flashed her a small smile " I understand your anger my dear child but it's not a request my love, It's an order from your Queen and mother."

Liana stared at her mother sadly and as she was about to stand up from her bed, Queen Vera held her hands " my darling lily, I know that you must be feeling heartbroken at the fact whereby a peace treaty was made using you as the..."

Queen Vera stared at her daughter's eyes " my baby you know that there had been so many bloodsheds caused by the unending feud between the two kingdoms. Your brother was one of those we had lost in it, if only he hadn't decided to infiltrate their kingdom with the aim of killing the king, if only he had listened to your father.."

she pursed her lips trying to fight back the tears "Your father couldn't take it and well, he called for a peace treaty but the only way they could trust us enough to accept a peace treaty was if your father sealed it with your marriage to the king of Vladkarya"

"It's fine mother I understand" Lianas lips quivered

A tear rolled down Queen Vera's cheeks as she felt completely helpless in helping her daughter, if her daughter were to get married to that man would she be able to see her again

" I'm so sorry my love, I tried persuading your father but I guess our hands are tied" For the first time in her life Vera felt angry being the queen and the wife of the Alpha king. She had already lost her son now she was about to lose her daughter too.

"Mother don't cry, I really don't want to get married to that monster but if it's what I can do to keep you, father and everyone I love and care about alive then I'd gladly do it" Liana whispered to her mother

The Queen pulled her daughter into a long yet warm embrace "I know it's not your wish to get married and I know this decision must be tough on you, but I believe you are going to scale through" She said in a shaky but reassuring voice

A knock on the door interrupted the mother and daughter cry session and the queen immediately stood up "Come in"

And the maids immediately rushed in with some clothes and jewelries. The queen inspected the items before turning to look at the oldest maid "make sure she's ready in less than 30 minutes" and with that she left the room heading towards the council room in anticipation of her daughter's arrival

The older maid, Betty, prepared a warm bath and helped the princess undress. When Liana was done bathing, Betty quickly helped her put on her clothes

" How are you feeling your highness?" Betty asked her princess, even though she was just a maid the princess had taken her as a friend and also a sister whom she shared everything with and she in turn had served the princess with all her heart and might

"Like I'm being forced to marry the man who murdered my brother, the man whose kingdom has been at war with my kingdom for ages now" Liana gave a faint smile " I feel broken but I can't complain as it would hurt everyone, I mean this is a chance to unite both kingdoms I'd be a fool to decline the proposal, not that I have a choice though"

Betty looked at her friend with a sad sympathetic look " I understand how you feel Lily, how about you run away".

"That's not even an option Betty" Liana looked out her window, of course the thought had crossed her mind but where would she run to, who would she run to. Her parents had made it clear that if the marriage didn't happen the ear that would break out would be bloodier than the rest and her mother's heart would be shattered if she thought of running away.
