Chapter 5: The handsome Stranger again
he was shocked and her body trembled a bit, was he here?, he had told her he was attending a grand wedding after all, so this was the wedding he spoke about, as they continued walking she looked around trying to steal a glance of the owner of the sweet scent from the crowd
"Stop fidgeting, everyone is looking at you"
Her mother chided her, pulling her once again out of her mini trance, Liana glanced around to find out that the guests were staring at her and she quickly schooled her expression as well as her movements.
She pretended as though she wasn't a tiny bit affected by their cold and expressionless stares and she hadn't even gotten to the middle of the garden yet.
Moving forward, she saw her father smile at her and as they moved closer to her he hugged her and whispered "Smile my love, you'll look even more beautiful if you do".
'This is not how you apologize for sending me to my early grave' Olivia thought to her self
Everyone in the garden had their eyes on her and her heart spiralled out of control, Her pace slowed down as they approached the beautifully decorated dais, her knees felt like they were about to give out and her legs get wobbly with every step that she took and the familiar sweet scent continued to waft through her nose stronger than before
As they reached the dais, her mother gently clasped her hands and gave her a small nod before leaving her to go join her father.
Liana smiled at her mother and father before her eyes fell on the priest who was there to officiate her wedding, and right in front of her was a tall and handsome man, with broad shoulders and perfectly shaped biceps and the most beautiful locks of shiny silky black hair, He was breathtaking in his Blue and Silver tunic and gold crown.
Liana looked at the dais in shock, disbelief and confusion then back at the man and then at her parents and then back at the man.
Her heart missed a beat no her her heart missed several beats at she stared at the source of the chocolate musk and oak smell that had forcefully registered at the back of her brain and nose and be stared right back at her. But why were his eyes not black? Why were they red? Weren't they black when they had first met?
Her body became numb as questions upon questions raced through her head, this was the same man she had met last night at the cliff, the same man she had told about her marrying an old disgusting man.
What was he doing here looking so painstakingly handsome and regal, she looked at the silver crown on his head that matched the silver beads in her hair and then back at his face that now had a cute yet mischievous smirk planted on his lips
. This annoying yet handsome stranger was the king of Vladkarya?
As her eyes locked with his, he offered her his hands and she clutched his strong and warm hand so he could pull her up the dais
. Everyone present were shocked at the gesture of the King, especially the priest who looked flabbergasted and dumbfounded when he saw how gently Liana was pulled by the king of Vladkarya.
Since King Reginald had ordered him to hasten up the ceremony, the priest wasted no time as he started chanting in ancient words.
Lianas hand was still curled In his hand as she continued feeling her racing heart trying to escape from her ribcage. She was too shocked to say a word, that she couldn't even greet the man who she was getting married to.
Her body trembled, her legs felt as if it couldn't carry her weight anymore, as her body continued to give out she felt his grip on her hand tighten.
She was too scared and embarrassed to steal a glance at the man marrying her, She had heard of his cruelty across the realm, she had heard the tales of his military expertise, but no one had ever told her of how devilishly handsome he was.
She had always had the impression that the king of Vladkarya was an old tyrant whose main aim was to spread fear and blood all over the realm, she wasn't expecting a young man. She tried her best to free herself from his grip and he complied by loosening his grip.
The priest asked them to extend their palms as it was time to perform the last rite. Liana gave her palm to him and the king did the same.
The priest sliced their palm with an ancient dagger and quickly placed their bleeding palms together and chanted more ancient words and as their blood mixed together and trickled down to the ground he immediately proclaimed them husband and wife.
The moment the priest proclaimed them married, she heard whispers coming from the crowd, she turned her head in the direction of the man she had just married,
