Marvel: Beginning with the Collection of Shinra Tensei

Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Item Extraction Card

Han Yu reappeared in a small grocery store on a bustling street in New York City, within the Marvel universe. The store wasn't large, but it was well-equipped and neatly arranged.

This little shop was something Han Yu acquired half a year ago. Originally, he was just an ordinary young man from China, a passionate fan of superheroes and comics.

His arrival in this world happened unexpectedly—after watching Avengers: Endgame, he went to sleep, and when he opened his eyes, he found himself in this world full of gods and heroes.

This grocery store was bound to him as his "golden finger," an extraordinary system that granted him unique abilities.

At first, Han Yu thought he had struck gold, imagining a life at the pinnacle of success with wealth, power, and beautiful women. However, reality struck hard—the system kept giving him one grueling task after another, locking him into a relentless cycle of hard work.

Upon his return to the store, Han Yu immediately said, "System, settle the collection task. Keyword: 'Shinra Tensei!'"

The voice of the grocery store system echoed in Han Yu's mind.

"Task settlement complete. The system has detected additional collected items: S-Rank Jutsu [Outer Path: Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique], S-Rank Jutsu [Strength of a Hundred Seal], S-Rank Jutsu [Yin Seal]."

"Extra reward obtained: Item Draw Card x1!"

Han Yu was ecstatic. "An Item Draw Card! This makes all the effort worth it!"

He swiped his hand in the air, summoning a holographic interface only he could see, displaying his personal stats:

[Name: Han Yu]

[Shop Level: Senior Clerk]

[Basic Ability: Undying Divine Seal]

[Extra Abilities: None]

[Items: Item Draw Card x1]

[Arsenal: Hyōrinmaru]

[Upgrade Points: 20]

[Points Needed for Next Upgrade: 50]

Han Yu's eyes focused on the "Item Draw Card." This card was far more valuable than Shinra Tensei.

It could randomly draw items from across the multiverse, and the items would always arrive in their most advanced forms, saving Han Yu from having to upgrade them manually.

In the system, this card wasn't only available through rewards—it could also be purchased with upgrade points. But the price was astronomical: one card cost 100 upgrade points. For Han Yu, that was nearly impossible.

He carefully picked up the purple and gold-edged card that appeared in his hand and muttered, "I hope I get something good. My ice-type Zanpakutō, Hyōrinmaru, came from one of these draws. Let's see if luck is on my side again."

Just as he was about to activate the draw, the shop's wind chime jingled crisply. He paused and tucked the card away.

The wind chime only rang for those who had significant standing across the multiverse. The stronger the visitor, the louder and faster the chime rang. It wouldn't move otherwise, even in the fiercest wind.

The door creaked open, and a tall, imposing figure appeared.

Seeing the visitor, Han Yu's face broke into a warm smile. "Whitebeard, back for more wine?"

"Haha! You know me too well, Han Yu. Three hundred barrels, same as always!"

Standing at the entrance was Whitebeard from the One Piece world. His laughter was so loud it seemed to shake the store itself.

Beyond the door, instead of New York streets, lay an expansive piece of land—a gateway to the One Piece universe. Whitebeard had discovered this island by accident during one of his voyages and stumbled upon the grocery store.

To his amazement, the wine sold here was unlike anything he had ever tasted. It was potent, rich, and utterly unmatched by anything in his world. Ever since then, Whitebeard had become a frequent customer.

"The usual place. Prices remain unchanged," Han Yu said with a smile.

"Got it. My crew will handle the pickup. Payment is waiting outside."

Whitebeard turned to leave, fatigue visible on his face. Just as he was stepping out, Han Yu called after him.

"You don't look well. Did something happen?"

Whitebeard hesitated, then shook his head. "It's nothing. Let's just say it's time to settle some old debts."

Han Yu insisted, "Come on, you've been a loyal customer. Maybe I can help."

After a long pause, Whitebeard sighed deeply and said, "It's Ace. The Navy captured him, and he's set to be executed soon. I'm going to rescue him… but I might not return."

Han Yu was momentarily stunned. He remembered Ace—a kind and respectful young man who had helped him clean dishes after meals.

Whitebeard left, his broad shoulders carrying the weight of impending war.

Stepping outside, Han Yu glanced at the towering piles of money bags—stacked six meters high on either side of the shop.

"System, convert all this currency into the Marvel world's currency. Show me the total."

"Conversion complete. Total amount: $300,000."

Han Yu's eyebrow twitched. "$300,000?! Whitebeard must have been feeling extra generous today."

He whispered, "I'll have to check in on them soon."

Gathering a small wisp of energy in his hand, Han Yu shaped it into a translucent humanoid figure.

"Go," he commanded.

The small figure flew swiftly, catching up to Whitebeard's ship and perching on the mast.

Onboard, Whitebeard felt an odd sensation, like someone was watching him. He scanned his surroundings but saw nothing.

"Something wrong, Pops?" one of his crewmates asked.

Whitebeard shook his head. "No, it's nothing. Let's focus on saving Ace."

Back in the shop, Han Yu nodded in satisfaction. His energy construct could serve as both a scout and a modest combat unit.

With Whitebeard under watch, Han Yu finally pulled out the Item Draw Card.

"System, draw an item!"

The card dissolved into radiant light, forming a silver ring with a green gemstone engraved with a circular emblem.

As it slipped onto his finger, a voice echoed in his mind:

"Ring bearer, recite the oath!"

Without hesitation, Han Yu spoke the words imprinted in his mind:

In brightest day, in blackest night…

No evil shall escape my sight…

Let those who worship evil's might…

Beware my power—Green Lantern's light!

A brilliant green light enveloped him, binding him to the legendary Green Lantern Ring.

"W-What… the… hell?! It's the Green Lantern Ring?!"
