Chapter 401: Die
"How could it be!"
"How could it be…"
"How could it be the power of death?"
"If it truly is the power of death, then it must be a force of death's rules even stronger than the goddess of death from that Universe..."
"How could it be…"
After muttering incoherently for a while, the golden-striped giant's restless energy gradually settled. He glanced indifferently at Zane and the others on the spaceship.
He knew he was no match for Zane, so with a certain determination, he conjured a vortex of flowing light in his palm and hurled it fiercely toward the spaceship.
The vortex transformed into a shimmering tornado mid-air, whirling toward the group.
However, it seemed to lose its target and suddenly came to a halt.
"How is this possible?!"
"Not even a single one below the seventh dimension?"
The golden-striped giant floated in mid-air, staring at the abruptly stopped tornado with a look of despair.
"Heh, is it another [Cosmic Judgment Decree]?"
"Looks like this universe also has an 'Arishem'..."
"But unfortunately, just like that one, it's just as weak."
Zane gazed coldly at the golden-striped giant and then suddenly shifted in a blur, appearing beside him in an instant.
He grabbed his neck with one hand, instantly shrinking him to the size of a chick, clutching him effortlessly in his palm.
Staring directly into the golden-striped giant's eyes, Zane said:
"Die."
Boom!
The golden-striped giant tried to muster all his strength to counterattack but found that his energy had been completely drained as if in an instant.
He could only watch as Zane crushed him in his hand, reducing him to dust.
Zane lightly dusted off his hands, then reached out casually to grab the golden divine core floating in the air.
He looked at the divine core in his hand with a puzzled expression and turned toward Roma, who was examining two other divine cores from the spaceship.
"Why are the Celestial cores from the main universe transparent, while those from this Ultimate Universe 1610 match the color of their armor?"
Hearing the question, Roma carefully compared the two divine cores in her hands.
By now, she had already learned from Rocket and the others about how everyone in the main universe had refined the transparent divine cores to ascend to godhood.
She pondered for a moment and then replied to Zane:
"I guess it might be because the energy in the Ultimate Universe isn't as dense or pure as in the main universe."
"Therefore, the divine cores formed by energy bodies like the Celestials would naturally differ."
She continued jotting something in her notebook with a magical pen, not bothering to see if Zane had understood, and added:
"Those three Celestials, the first one you killed—the purple-armored one—was Jemiah the Analyzer. The red fire-breathing one was Exitar the Exterminator."
"The last one, the golden-striped giant, was the second-in-command of the Ultimate Universe Celestials, Gamiel the Manipulator."
"They all belonged to an organization called…"
"Got it."
Zane interrupted before Roma could finish. To Zane, the identities of the Celestials were irrelevant.
Even the divine cores he had just collected held little significance in his eyes.
This sentiment seemed to be shared by the others on the spaceship as well.
His earlier question had been one of pure curiosity—wondering why the divine cores differed between the two universes.
Zane flickered and floated to Lorna's side.
At this moment, Lorna was still holding Earth's thick, blue timeline, gently smoothing its chaotic undulations with her glowing palm.
When Earth's timeline finally calmed and stabilized, Lorna suddenly pulled out another thick, blue timeline from the void.
She aligned the ends of both timelines and connected them together.
Immediately, Earth's timeline seemed to come alive, gently pulsing before leaping further and further along the new line Lorna had linked it to.
Simultaneously, on Earth below, it was as if time had reversed. Torrential ocean currents flowed backward, shattered clouds in the sky reformed, and crumbled mountains and buildings were restored in an instant.
A green stream of light shot from Skynet toward Earth, and the electronic screen in Lorna's hand displayed the new time:
"December 21, 2012, 23:55."
Lorna breathed a sigh of relief and smiled warmly at Zane, who was standing beside her.
Understanding her expression, Zane pointed a finger lightly toward the planet below.
In an instant, billions of souls emerged, joyously returning to their homeland.
Zane embraced Lorna, letting out a faint smile. He didn't care much about these souls; as long as Lorna was happy, that was enough for him.
Just then, dozens of massive figures appeared around the entire solar system.
One of the tallest among them called out toward Zane and the others:
"Gamiel, which troublemaker made you invoke the [Cosmic Judgment Decree] this time?"
"Was it that Earth mutant named Yasbes?"
"Well, as it happens, the thirty-six Primordial Gods of 'Destiny' are nearby."
"So, I brought them along."
"Everyone, begin… judgment!"
Boom!
Boom!
Boom! Boom! Boom!
In the blink of an eye, thirty-six towering Celestials of various colors suddenly appeared in near-Earth space.
The closest of them landed on Mars.
Thirty-six enormous glowing eyes first glanced at the fading tornado of the [Cosmic Judgment Decree] in the void, then collectively turned to Zane, the others, and their massive spaceship.
A blue Celestial spoke to the tallest orange-red figure beside him:
"Boss, we don't see any sign of Gamiel or the others."
"And the [Cosmic Judgment Decree] didn't strike a physical target either..."
"Hmm. I see, Chevat," replied the orange-red giant, his gaze darkening. A divine light emanated from his eyes as he scanned the massive figures around him.
He spoke loudly:
"Listen, everyone. Since the Watcher War long ago, we of 'Destiny' have been dedicated to guarding this Ultimate Universe 1610."
"For countless years, we have made no mistakes, and no one has dared to challenge the Celestials of 'Destiny.'"
"But today, such a group has appeared…"
"Judging by their ship, they could very well be remnants sponsored by the Watcher race."
"Thus, not only must we avenge the deaths of Gamiel, Jemiah , and Exitar."
"But we must also avenge our fallen kin from eons past!"
"Attack!"
"Such nonsense," Zane muttered coldly, holding Lorna tightly as he glared at the intruders.
Just as his anger was about to erupt, Rocket, sitting in the spaceship's cockpit, abruptly pressed a button.
In an instant, the metallic casing of the cockpit opened up.
