Chapter 3: Chapter 3
Nolin's perfect features, warm smile, and natural charisma were too much for Kitty to handle. In the end—she fled!
For a typical Western woman, this was unbelievable!
Kitty hurried out of the classroom, making an excuse to leave.
Out in the hallway, she finally took deep breaths to calm herself down. The blush on her cheeks slowly faded.
"Kitty, why did you mess up at the most critical moment?"
She scolded herself internally, feeling embarrassed about her reaction.
Kitty had never acted this way before.
Normally, she could talk to anyone confidently and naturally—even people she had a crush on.
But Nolin was different.
Whenever she was near him, her heartbeat raced, her breathing quickened, and an urge to jump into his arms overwhelmed her.
It was crazy.
It was unbelievable.
Was this the love-at-first-sight people always talked about?
Still… she didn't completely embarrass herself.
Before running off, she had managed to kiss him on the cheek.
It felt amazing—the best moment of her life.
"My heart's beating so fast!"
And that scent—Nolin's unique, faint fragrance.
It wasn't cologne—was it natural body scent?
It was intoxicating, driving her crazy and reckless.
Suddenly, a gentle voice pulled her out of her thoughts.
"Kitty, are you okay? You look a little off."
It was Peter, the school's star athlete—codename Colossus—capable of transforming his body into living steel.
Kitty shook her head.
"I'm fine, Peter."
She wasn't in the mood to talk to him.
If it were before, she wouldn't have minded chatting with him casually.
Peter was popular, had good grades, and was physically strong.
He was a model student who frequently earned praise from the professors.
Most students dreamed of becoming X-Men—heroes who protected the school and mutants—and Peter seemed perfect for that role.
But now?
Ever since Nolin arrived, other boys paled in comparison.
"Are you sure? I saw you talking with Nolin earlier… is everything okay?" Peter asked again, sounding concerned as he glanced toward the classroom.
Kitty's tone shifted:
"It's none of your business, Peter!"
Her voice rose, filled with irritation.
"You're nice, but you don't get it!"
She stormed off, leaving Peter confused.
Peter stood there, scratching his head.
"What don't I get? I'm almost an adult!"
Kitty had always been gentle and kind, even to stray dogs.
But today, she was completely different.
Back in the classroom, Nolin replayed the scene in his mind.
The kiss had happened too quickly for him to process it properly.
It was brief, warm, and then—she ran.
Nolin had wanted to talk more with Kitty—or even escalate things further.
But before he could even try, she had panicked and left.
He didn't recall flirting or teasing her intentionally.
Yet, Kitty seemed unable to handle his presence.
"Wow," Nolin thought. "Am I really this attractive?"
If he had this kind of charm in his previous life, he wouldn't have had to work so hard.
"I guess I still need to put in some effort, though," he decided.
At the very least, he still had to meet people, show himself, and—well—let things happen.
It was lunchtime, so Nolin left the classroom and headed toward the cafeteria.
Unlike his previous life, where you had to rush to avoid long lines, Xavier's School was much smaller—housing only around 100 students and staff.
The school focused on quality over quantity, prioritizing mutant education and research rather than profits.
Nolin wasn't in a hurry.
Along the way, he experimented with Kitty's powers, briefly copying her phase-through ability during their kiss.
"This is amazing," Nolin thought as he effortlessly walked through walls and doors.
It was perfect for someone lazy—no need to open doors or take detours anymore.
When he reached the cafeteria, Nolin didn't bother waiting in line.
Instead, he walked to the front counter and smiled:
"Thanks. I'll have some fried chicken and mashed potatoes."
His friendly smile was magnetic.
The lunch lady—usually grumpy—lit up like the sun.
She piled his plate with extra portions and even whispered:
"If you're still hungry, come back. I'll keep some fresh food warm for you."
Nolin nodded politely.
"Thanks!"
He turned to leave, but just two steps later—
"Hey! Are you blind?! I'm busy here!"
Nolin turned around and saw the lunch lady snapping at another student who had tried to cut in line.
The boy looked embarrassed, mumbled something, and backed off.
When the lunch lady noticed Nolin looking, she softened immediately, flashing him another warm smile.
Then—snap!—her expression turned harsh again as she scolded the other student.
"This charm of mine is getting ridiculous," Nolin thought.
He was already getting used to this strange power.
After scanning the cafeteria, Nolin didn't see Kitty.
Just as he began wondering where she'd gone, he noticed a small figure entering his view.
