Chapter 12: Learning Kamar-Taj Magic

The next morning, Michael woke up to find Lana and Ella sleeping beside him. He mumbled to himself, "It seems I really went at it with them all night." Thanks to his evolved body, he was far beyond a normal human, allowing him to keep up such stamina.

"Thankfully, there are two of them," he muttered, stretching as he stood up carefully, not wanting to disturb them. "If it were just one, who knows what might have happened."

After washing up, Michael prepared to leave. He had been planning to go to Kamar-Taj to learn magic, but Lana and Ella's antics had delayed him.

Now determined, he left the house and contacted the family staff responsible for travel arrangements. By the evening, he had reached his destination.

Standing before the gates of Kamar-Taj, Michael could sense the air thrumming with magic. His ability to detect mystical energy made it clear—this place was brimming with power. One presence in particular stood out to him. It was immense, almost overwhelming, but there was also something unsettling—a trace of corruption interwoven with it.

"It must belong to the Sorcerer Supreme," Michael mumbled, stepping forward. Gathering his resolve, he knocked firmly on the large wooden doors.

He knew the future-seeing Supreme might have already sensed his presence, but he still chose to knock. Soon, there was a soft clicking sound, and the gates opened. Standing there to greet him was Kaecilius.

Michael immediately recognized him from his appearance in the movies. "The Ancient One has been expecting you," Kaecilius said with a polite yet distant tone.

Michael raised his eyebrows at the comment but nodded in acknowledgment as he stepped inside.

The scene before him was almost identical to what he remembered from the movies. People moved about purposefully, some walking between areas, while others were deep in training, practicing techniques or studying. The energy in the air was palpable, a mix of disciplined focus and magical vibrations.

Kaecilius led Michael through the courtyard and toward a smaller, more secluded house. Arriving at the door, Kaecilius knocked firmly.

"Come in," a calm and composed voice replied from inside.

Kaecilius stepped aside, gesturing for Michael to enter. Michael took a deep breath, steadying himself, and walked into the room.

Inside, he noticed a bald woman, the Ancient One, preparing tea with deliberate movements. Without a word, she handed him a cup. Michael accepted it cautiously as she began speaking.

"Michael White, to what do I owe this meeting?" she asked, her tone even and measured.

Michael tilted his head slightly. "Weren't you expecting me?" he replied.

The Ancient One smiled faintly. "I knew you were coming to study. And I also know that the knowledge you seek at Kamar-Taj comes with its own challenges." She paused, taking a sip from her tea. "But it seems you already possess some mystic knowledge."

Michael nodded. "Yes, I stumbled upon it during an incident. It saved my life."

The Ancient One nodded in understanding. "Still, you crave more knowledge?"

"Yes," Michael replied without hesitation.

"Very well," she said, her voice kind yet firm. "You may study here as much as you wish, but understand this knowledge also comes with responsibilities. I cannot force you to take them on, but if you can, I ask that you help us in return."

Michael nodded earnestly. "I will help as much as I can."

The Ancient One smiled gently. "Welcome to Kamar-Taj, Mr. White."

Michael returned her smile. "Glad to be here."

The Ancient One turned to Kaecilius. "Show him his quarters."

Kaecilius nodded, gesturing for Michael to follow. As Michael left, the Ancient One continued to smile, watching his retreating figure.

"What he has gained has already shifted the trajectory of this world greatly," she murmured softly. Her gaze fell to her tea as she added to herself, "Even my death is no longer a necessity."

Taking a deep breath, she leaned back and sipped her tea, letting the warmth spread through her. "It seems I might finally retire in peace," she mumbled with a faint smile, closing her eyes to savor the moment.

Under Kaecilius's guidance, Michael soon reached a modest accommodation. As they entered, Kaecilius handed him a slip of paper.

"Wi-Fi password?" Michael asked with a raised eyebrow.

Kaecilius nodded, a faint smile on his face. "Most mistake it for a mantra."

Michael chuckled, shrugging. "Well, this knowledge might be ancient, but we're living in a modern world."

Kaecilius acknowledged the remark with a subtle nod. "You can rest here for the day. Tomorrow, your studies will begin."

Michael nodded in response, watching as Kaecilius left the room.

Once alone, Michael activated his system, glancing over the notifications that appeared while he had been speaking with the Ancient One.

Michael smirked at the system notifications. "Looks like this place will keep me busy," he muttered, setting the slip with the Wi-Fi password aside.

"I should inform Mia, lest she thinks I'm kidnapped once again," Michael mumbled to himself, pulling out his phone. He quickly sent a message to Mia, explaining his whereabouts and letting her know that he wouldn't be returning for several months.

"Hey Mia, I've come to Kamar-Taj (Adress) to study magic. I won't be back for some time, Don't worry about me, I'm safe. Take care of yourself until then."

"She might go nuts seeing this and rush over here" Michael laughed as he sent the message, he want her to come here as he imagined her using magic, 'earlier I sensed she has quite the talent for magic, she will surely grow strong after learning magic here.' he thought as he closed his eyes, the exhaustion of the travel now calling him to rest as he closed his eyes slipping into a peaceful sleep.
