Marvel's Magic Master: I Have a Clone in the Harry Potter World!

Chapter 99: Chapter 99: Erza Scarlet Appears!

"Restore to its original state!"

In the guild hall, George waved his wand, and the damage caused by the earlier brawl among the guild mages was instantly repaired.

"George, your magic has really improved," Mirajane praised from the bar as she wiped a glass.

She recalled how, when George first joined, it took him several consecutive casts of magic to repair the hall. Now, sitting at the bar, a simple wave of his hand was enough to fix everything.

"It's mainly thanks to the guild master's teachings. By the way, where is the guild master today?" George asked, taking a sip from a beer mug nearly as tall as he was.

His repair spell had indeed improved significantly, though not to an exaggerated extent. The true reason for this effect lay in the super wand crafted with Natsu's hair as its core.

Mirajane chuckled.

"The guild master? He went to attend a regular meeting."

"A regular meeting? So it'll be a few days before he returns. I was planning to ask him about some light magic techniques today," George said, looking slightly disappointed.

He was familiar with the concept of the "regular meeting," a gathering of guild masters from all over the kingdom to discuss council policies.

The Kingdom of Fiore, a permanent neutral state with a population of 17 million, was governed by two primary institutions:

The Fiore Royal Family, which maintained order among ordinary citizens.

The Magic Council, responsible for regulating the magical community.

The Magic Council's leadership comprised one chairman and nine councilors. Their duties included monitoring the actions of mage guilds, punishing violators, and hunting down dark guilds.

Regular meetings (and emergency ones in special cases) were held at the council's headquarters to discuss recent developments in the magical world and decide on action plans. These plans would then be relayed to guild masters, who would convene to discuss their implementation, typically taking at least three to five days.

Suddenly, the guild's front door burst open, and Loke, the celestial spirit mage, entered with a grave expression.

"Bad news! Erza—she's back!"

For a moment, the entire guild fell silent, the atmosphere tense enough to hear a pin drop. Only Mirajane, still smiling, and Lucy, looking puzzled, seemed unaffected. Meanwhile, all the other mages, including the usually fearless Natsu and his rival Gray, looked visibly uneasy.

"Erza Scarlet—one of the guild's S-class mages!"

George paused, intrigued. Since joining the guild, he had yet to meet any of the S-class mages, apart from Guild Master Makarov. Today would finally be his chance.

"It seems everyone is afraid of her. Is she difficult to get along with?" George asked as he returned to the bar.

Mirajane shook her head gently.

"Not at all. Erza is a kind person who genuinely cares about everyone and takes her responsibilities seriously."

"But I heard from Natsu that Erza once kicked two mountains away with a single strike!" Lucy chimed in, overhearing their conversation.

"That's an exaggeration. Natsu once challenged Erza and ended up half-dead, so his stories might be a bit dramatic," Mirajane said, covering her mouth as she laughed.

"Even Natsu ended up half-dead?" Lucy exclaimed, clearly shocked. Having been on missions with him, she knew just how strong Natsu was.

Macao, the older mage adept at purple flame magic, chimed in mischievously.

"One time, Gray was wandering around the guild without clothes, and Erza beat him half to death!"

"And when Loke joined the guild and tried to flirt with Erza, she gave him the same treatment!" Cana added with a smirk, setting down her beer barrel.

Hearing these stories, George's curiosity grew even stronger.

"I heard Erza uses Requip magic?"

Among the current guild members, Natsu, Gray, and Loke were recognized as the strongest below S-class, yet they seemed no match for Erza.

Requip magic, based on what George knew, wasn't inherently powerful; he'd encountered similar mages before joining the guild.

"Yes, it's Requip magic, but not the ordinary kind. Erza uses Requip: Knight, which allows her to summon not only magical weapons but also magical armor. Even without her armor, Erza's strength far surpasses that of most mages," Mirajane explained with a smile.

"She passed the S-class mage exam at just fifteen years old!"

She added encouragingly, "Magic itself has no inherent strengths or weaknesses. It's the mage who determines its power. If you find the magic that suits you best and work hard, you can become a strong mage."

Lucy and the others seemed inspired by Mirajane's words, but George wasn't entirely convinced.

While he agreed that a skilled mage could defeat a weaker one regardless of the magic used, the relative strength of magic still mattered when mages were equally skilled.

For example, Natsu's Dragon Slayer magic was leagues beyond ordinary fire magic. A regular fire mage wouldn't stand a chance, as Natsu could even consume their flames to enhance his own power.

Mirajane's words were meant to encourage the guild members, particularly those like George, whom she believed lacked offensive capabilities.

However, George was a pragmatic and ambitious individual. He had no intention of limiting himself to one or two types of magic. Instead, he aimed to master as many as possible, including lost magic, advanced magic, and celestial magic.

As far as George was concerned, a mage's true potential lay in mastering a diverse range of magic, bringing them closer to the essence of magic itself.

Take Guild Master Makarov, for instance—though he specialized in Giant Magic and Light Magic, he was also proficient in many other types, like fire and ice magic.

Moreover, with the existence of multiple worlds—and the possibility of exploring even more in the future—pursuing a versatile approach to magic was the most suitable path.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Heavy footsteps echoed outside the guild, like a giant approaching. The mages inside collectively swallowed nervously.

Soon, a beautiful mage with long red hair, clad in silver armor, a blue skirt, and black thigh-high boots, appeared at the guild's entrance.

She wasn't empty-handed—she was holding an enormous horn in one hand.

George estimated the horn to weigh nearly two tons, equivalent to lifting a Hummer single-handedly in modern terms.
