Chapter 102: Heights Alliance (1)

~Third POV~

[Mid-August, UA Highschool, Heights Alliance, Japan]

Mid-August is the day when returning students of UA come back after their summer break. The parents have signed and agreed to allow their children to enroll in the dormitory system of UA High School.

On the UA campus, the dorms were finished and improved days ago and are a 5-minute walk from the main building. The Heights Alliance is the new home for the returning students of UA High.

The Heights Alliance dormitories are large buildings with five floors separated into two wings. Each building has its respective class name posted above a sign that reads 'Alliance'. Each building is circled by low hedge bushes that leave a path open to the entrance.

The entrance is comprised of two sets of double doors. Alongside the pathway are two park benches and two towers with lights on them. The first level of the building is white while the upper levels are colored brown on the outside. There's a courtyard outside the first level as well.

The students of 1-A soon saw their dorms as a few screamed in an excited tone. Each filled with happiness seeing the building.

"It's huge!"

"We're some lucky kids!"

"Whoa!"

"They upped their game."

*Shah*

Approaching his students, Aizawa spoke up in a neutral tone, grasping his Capture Weapon, "Now then, Class 1-A… I'm glad to see you all here."

Everyone looked relieved that everyone attended, as Sero pointed out in a happy tone, "Looks like everyone got permission to move in…"

Toru sighed a breath of relief, exclaiming out loud, "It was an uphill battle for me…"

Some of the students shared their sympathy that some were having a hard time convincing their parents to allow them to stay. Allowing everyone enough time, Aizawa spoke up, clapping his hands and getting attention, "Anyway… I'm gonna give a quick overview of your dorms. But before that, the training camp was meant to earn your provisional licenses. And that's still the goal."

When this subject was brought up, some students exclaimed that they remembered the purpose of their Summer Camp Trip prior to it being canceled.

"Oh yeah, that's right!"

"That's what we were doing."

"With everything that happened, I forgot…"

However, Aizawa spoke seriously, eyes darting at Ren with a light glare about the Kamino Nightmare Incident, getting his attention, "This is important. Listen up, Ren Yuki. On that night, you were there when the Kamino Nightmare Incident occurred… the issue's been swept under the rug for now, but let me say this much. If not for All Might's announcement of you being his successor and saving him, I would have expelled you on the spot."

This surprised the class as Ren remained neutral as Aizawa explained in a stern tone with his arms crossed, "The chaos is sure to continue now that villains saw his loss… and since we can't get a read on the League of Villain's next move, kicking anyone out of UA at present is ill-advised. From this point on, each of your training will be increasingly difficult for the times ahead. That's all! Now look lively and get a move on!"

Aizawa leading the way, the class was strangely silent as they gazed at Ren intently, causing him to sweat a bit. Noticing the stares, he decided to break the ice in a calm tone, "You guys have been oddly silent… anything you guys want to say…?"

The class remained silent till now as Ren spoke his question with Shinso stoically saying to him walking behind him, "Yeah… everyone has lots of questions about you now, Class Rep. And no escaping this one."

Ren sighed, knowing what Shinso meant. Ever since the announcement of All Might's successor interviewing his classmates, he had promised them an explanation of the situation but never got the chance during summer vacation because Nezu requested sending him to America to get [New Order] and safety.

Although Ren could tell that their body language from his [Language Comprehension] skill, they were all twitching in anticipation. But to the other powerhouses like Shoto and Bakugo in class, a sense of curiosity and defiance in their eyes.

Ren noticed this but didn't bother budging for now since they would have time to listen to his story as he mentally sighed in a tired tone, 'Sigh… I knew the dynamic of the class would change once that secret was out. But I didn't expect to be this much of a change knowing my connections.'

Temporarily, they all headed inside the dormitory, the Heights Alliance, as Aizawa explained to them the interior, "One class to each building. Girls on the right, boys on the left. The first floor is a common area. You're fining hall, baths, and laundry rooms are here…"

Each dorm building is designed to hold one class of twenty students, though it could house as many as thirty-two. The first floor is a common area with couches, tables, televisions, kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry rooms.

Dorm rooms begin on the second floor and end on the fifth floor; each floor has eight rooms in total, four rooms per gender. Males are assigned to the left wing and females are assigned to the right wing.

Every student gets their own room equipped with air conditioning, toilets, beds, fridges, closets, and a balcony. Ochaco Uraraka, coming from a lower-income family, compares the size of the building to a mansion. Momo Yaoyorozu, on the other hand, who had a wealthy upbringing, says the dorm rooms are close to the size of the closets at her estate.

When he finished explaining, Aizawa began to show the floor plans of each room while making an important announcement, getting everyone's attention, "Before we continue onward, I have an announcement to make. Yuga's absence leaves the class with an empty seat. The higher-ups have decided to fill it asap to make sure that another student gets a bit better teaching."

The class nodded. They would usually be angry or disappointed at the school for this, but after hearing it was the same person that nearly caused them to be harmed or even killed during the USJ and Summer Camp Incidents, it would be better if someone new were to also get proper training becoming heroes like them.

However, there were a few who were hesitant about a new student joining them, fearing it could be another traitor situation. Fortunately for them, the staff knew of this as Aizawa announced the new student into Class 1-A in a stoic tone, "You can come in and introduce yourself."

*Tmp*

Coming downstairs, it revealed Izuku Midoriya wearing a steampunk outfit from the second floor, shocking few who knew him. Shinso, Toga, Ochaco, and Bakugo all shared a stunned expression as Izuku introduced himself in a friendly tone, "Hello, everyone. My name is Izuku Midoriya, and I am from the Support Course to the Hero Course. Pleasure seeing some familiar faces."

Greeting them in a friendly manner, Shinso spoke up, trusting Izuku easily in a stoic tone, heading towards him, "Heh. If they sent you to come to us, then UA must be doing something right. How's it been, man."

Izuku warily replied with a sheepish grin on his face, reaching for a handshake with Shinso in a calm tone, "Pretty good. Imagine my surprise that the principal asked for me to transfer to the Hero Course. After learning what happened, I just couldn't stand by, plus it was either me or Mineta joining the class."

*Swooosh*

Immediately, Izuku was swarmed by the girls of Class 1-A as he dropped the mention that either he or Mineta would be joining the class. Mina shook her hand in an excited tone, "I welcome you in open arms to Class 1-A Izuku Midoriya!"

Bakugo looked completely stunned by the events, darting at Izuku with evident confusion, but raised an eyebrow, asking in a neutral tone, "Oi! Teacher, is it okay for a Quirkless to be in the Hero Course?"

Everyone blinked as Izuku looked calm being called out Quirkless, with Aizawa answering in a stoic tone, "Pretty much. It was by the principal's call to add him to the Hero Course. But if you have doubts about his skill, you can try sparring with him using his Hero Suit in the near future."

Bakugo merely nodded, expressing a feral grin as Izuku rubbed the back of his head, answering in a casual tone, "Yup! That's just a Ka-chan response, like I remembered. But I wouldn't be worried about myself I think you guys have other things to be concerned about. And I already have a girlfriend, so I'm taken, ladies."

Giving a light bow of his head, the girls merely shrugged, with the boys being stunned hearing Izuku beating them in the dating game. However, Bakugo froze on the spot thinking in disbelief, 'WHAT THE HELL?!! NO WAY DEKU GETS ANY BITCHES!!! HIS A MAIDENLESS LOSER?!!!'

But soon, they return their attention to Aizawa as he assigns the rooms for their dorms in a stoic tone, "And these are your room assignments. The luggage you sent over earlier should be in your rooms. Today's set aside for settling in. We'll talk about what comes next tomorrow. Dismissed!"

The class responded excitedly, "Yes, sensei!!"

With that, everyone began to hurry along leaving to their dorm rooms as instructed leaving Ren and Izuku staying on the first floor with everyone moving their belongings. Having the moment Izuku noticed the lack of interaction between Ren and his classmates.

He raises his eyebrow talking to his friend in a curious tone with the class going upstairs and seeing the situation, "… So addressing the elephant in the room you having a problem with your Classmates or something? Even Toga is somewhat avoiding you so did something happened?"

Ren, looking at Izuku in disbelief, sighed, scratching his head as he replied in a neutral tone with his arms crossed, "I honestly have no clue. After the news, I learned of my connection and promised them to explain how I kept the fact of being All Might's successor a secret, along with many other things. If even Toga is leaving me in the dark, then I fucked up somewhere…"

However, Jiro spoke up carrying her boxes clearing the confusion in a chill tone getting the duo's attention, "Nah. It's not that they're angry it's more like how to proceed with talking to you dork. They seemed lost just as you are bringing the subject up."

Seeing the distressed look on his face, Jiro approached the two as she continued talking, jabbing her thumb at the dorms in a neutral tone, "Approaching us making a promise to explain then ghosting us to America… it kind of leaves a lot to interpretation of what we think. It's just the class doesn't know how to approach you with you being his successor, thinking things have changed."

Izuku raises an eyebrow, seeing how Jiro was nonchalant about the ordeal. Then it clicked in his head, asking out of curiosity, "Oh. I take it you already knew about his secret beforehand, huh? You seem to be doing quite fine asking him."

Jiro shrugged her shoulders, understanding Izuku's point, confessing in a chill tone, explaining to him, "Pretty much. I managed to overhear Melissa slipping off that key detail during I-Island. Then, this dummy overheard filled me in on what I needed to know, promising to keep his identity a secret. Seeing it all over the media, I have no reason to hide it."

Izuku nodded his head, understanding, sending a light glare at Ren, pouting lightly as he asked in a somewhat offended tone, "Okay. But Ren-san, next time, you gotta inform me about this. I almost had a heart attack seeing All Might nearly get beheaded on live television. I would think you've been a bit more careful, don't ya think?"

Raising his point, Ren sighed, shaking his head and responding in a defeated tone, shocking them with his response, "Fair point. But my counterargument would be that that 100-year-old monster gave me the fucking chills. If you've been there, you'll get why."

Jiro asked another question regarding interest in the villain in a neutral tone, "100 years? Isn't that a bit of an exaggeration?"

However, Ren shook his head, confirming AFO's age, leaving a light chill down their spines, listening to his blunt tone, "Nope. Probably about 100 – 200 years old. That villain is, by definition, a monster being that strong, blind, old, and has a breathing problem. This is partially the main reason why All Might forbid me from saying my connections because his old nemesis would do ANYTHING to spite him."

*Shiver*

Both collectively shivered at the thought before Izuku brushed it off, understanding Ren's dilemma in a calm tone, "Okay then… but at least he's in Tartarus, right? No way that guy, even if his All Might's nemesis, would be able to break out."

Jiro nodded her head, agreeing with Ren, simply shrugging his shoulders in a defeated tone, returning to his chipper voice, "Fair enough. In that case, should I just say we should be cool and act like normal high school-powered students? Sigh… I kind of missed how the class was used to be…"

Izuku merely rolled his eyes as he got close to Ren, allowing Jiro to leave and setting up her room as he spoke in a casual tone, "Nah. Just be yourself it never stopped you before. And besides, I gotta show you our labs on the 2nd floor. We get two of those dorms for ourselves."

Ren paused as Izuku went ahead and sheepishly said, "We have labs…?"

Ren absently followed Izuku with Jiro, seeing the uncomfortable atmosphere present in the class and sighing out loud. However, a few of the other classmates listened in as they began to make their plans to bring the class back to normal…
