Chapter 103: Heights Alliance (2)

~Third POV~

[Nighttime, UA Highschool, Heights Alliance, Japan]

Finishing up setting up their dorm rooms for the night, Kirishima spoke up in a tired tone, leaning on the couch on the first floor, "Oh boy. I'm not saying it was anything good that led us here, but still… Ah, I'm so beat."

Sero soon commented, in a tired tone, as he was sitting down on the couch on the side, "You and me both. Are you done unpacking?"

Kirishima nodded as Denki spoke excitedly about living in the dorms, "I'm excited about us living together. What about you guys?"

Hearing this, Izuku perked up as he spoke in a chill tone, sitting on the couch right next to Denki. "Mm-hm! It would be a pleasure working with everyone. I'm looking forward to this semester."

Ren nodded at Izuku's words as he spoke out in a chill tone, exclaiming, "Yeah. A unified class. It's the perfect way to increase our cooperation and discipline."

Ida adjusted his glasses, smiling as he replied, agreeing with Ren's words, "How smart! Just as expected of you, Class Rep!"

That was when the girls of Class 1-A approached the group as Mina spoke up in a cheerful tone, "Hiya, boys. You boys all finished with your rooms?"

Denki turned his head to see the girls as he greeted them in a chill tone, "Yeah, we're just relaxing now."

Mina grinned a bit wider as the girls looked at each other, nodding as she suggested an idea in a curious tone, "So yeah! Well, the girls and I have been talking, and... we've got an idea!"

Toru soon jumps forward, suggesting to catch the boys off guard by her request in an excited tone, "We have a great idea! How about we have… a go-around and see each other's rooms?!"

Hearing that the boys were stunned as the girls went ahead to the second floor with Ren and Izuku both following upstairs at the second floor. Some of the guys interested went ahead to see the second floor.

Heading upstairs to the second floor of the Heights Alliance the girls reach Izuku's room first as Mina smiles curiously about their newest classmates' room in an excited tone, "Let's see what the newbie has to show – whoa!!"

Opening the door to Izuku's room revealed to be a steampunk-like room filled with gears and support items near the table. Along with the essentials for school, as Izuku explains cooly in his room, "Yeah. I'm a bit of a steampunk fan after finding out how good I can get with my support items. Figured to make it my style, you see?"

The girls and boys blinked, surprised, with the girls examining Izuku's room impressed. As they are sightseeing the room, Denki whispers to Sero and Kirishima in a nervous tone, "Does this mean...they're judging our rooms, too?"

Sero released a bead of sweat confessing to the idea in a nervous tone, "Probably, could end up a good time."

Soon enough, they began to move toward Ren's room next as Toru opened the door in an excited tone, "Alright! Let's see what the class rep room looks like!!"

Everyone nodded, a bit excited to see Ren's room as they entered inside. They blinked their eyes, seeing how normal it was with Shinso asking in a confused tone, "This is what your dorm looks like? It looks completely normal?"

All eyes were on Ren as he shrugged his shoulders, answering their question in a casual tone, "Yeah? What did you guys expect it to be different? I prefer to work with some normal tools on hand, and I have my [Sub-Space] always carrying my stuff."

Seeing his point, the girls looked somewhat disappointed, not seeing anything out of the ordinary, with Mina saying, "Damn… I would've thought you had something going on with your room class rep. But everything is so bland."

Ren's eyes twitched as they moved upstairs to Tokoyami's dorm room entrance, he said guarding the door, "No way."

He didn't budge or move from his spot. But Mina and Toru both shoved him to the side as the group said, looking at his occult and emo room, "So dark and scary!"

The boys soon looked through as Tokoyami slumped down, ashamed as Kirishima said, "I remember buying a keychain like this when I was in middle school."

Mina looked over Tokoyami's room as she muttered loud enough for him to hear, "So this is how boys like to decorate."

Ren slowly goes towards the sword as he mutters with a sly grin teasing Tokoyami, "A sword?! So cool!"

Having been embarrassed enough he yelled out loud, "BEGONE!!"

Having enough of embarrassing their emo friend, they went towards Shinso's room. Everyone entered inside looking normal as Toru stated, "Pretty much what we expected."

Shinso felt a shot fired and continued as Mina spoke, moving on immediately, "Nothing surprising, really."

Shinso felt annoyed as Ren patted him over the shoulder with a smug grin, "No worries. They're always next time, buddy."

Shinso's eyes twitched, having a sense of déjà vu during the battle trials, muttering, "I seriously hate you…"

Heading to the next room belonged to Ida, he spoke up in a stoic tone, showing off, "Nothing out of the ordinary here."

Looking at Ida's room, Ochaco pointed out in an impressed tone, "Whoa! It looks like a library in here!"

Mina nodded in an excited tone from the boys showing off their rooms as she mentioned, "That's Ida for you. The stickler for the rules!"

That was when they saw a shelf of glasses, as Ochaco commented in a surprised tone, "Pfft! He's obsessed with glasses!"

However, Ida corrected her as he stated to the spare glasses on the shelf in a stoic tone, "Is that so unreasonable?! I expect to go through many pairs during our intense training! I expect them all to be destroyed during training!"

Ren nodded understanding but couldn't help but mutter out loud in a whisper, "But couldn't you have gotten a really durable one instead? It just seems like a waste of money, in my opinion."

Next up was heading to Denki's room as the girls uttered out loud in a mixed tone, "Really?"

Jiro, ever the blunt girl, spoke up in an honest tone, seeing the decorations of Denki's room, "This is the store in the mall I'd avoid."

Feeling attacked, Denki exclaimed in a nervous tone in his dorm room, trying to appease the girls, "What? It's perfect!"

The girls simply gave him a deadpan stare as Tsuyu bluntly said with the group following, "Okay… moving on. Ribbit."

Denki dramatically falls over, with Izuku commenting in an amused tone of his future classmates, "Everyone's getting into the competition. I have to say you guys are very different from my Support Course classmates. But I can see the fun happening here. I'm gonna enjoy myself here."

Ren merely chuckled as Kaminari spoke up in a defeated tone, having been judged, "Man, this sucks. I feel so judged right now."

Shinso, feeling the same pain, said, agreeing with Denki in a defeated tone, "Hey, what a coincidence. I don't feel great. At all."

Tokoyami, having been violated, spoke out in a dead tone, agreeing, "Same here."

Seeing the boy's defeated expression, Ren soon pointed out loud, getting some attention as he asked the girls curiously, "That's because the boys are the only ones who are getting picked on. You said we're gonna see everyone's rooms, right? How about we make it a contest to see who has the coolest dorm room? If you gals are okay with that."

Everyone stared at Ren, blinking as the girl no hold no-hold-barred criticism stoked the competitive fire in the boys. Izuku muttered out loud, impressed in a stunned tone, "This surprisingly convincing argument from Ren…"

Mina smiled as she clasped her hands together, agreeing, "Great idea! And for whoever wins, get the Class Rep cooking!!"

*BRRR*

That ignited everyone with fiery spirit as Izuku sweated a bit asking in a curious tone, "Is your cooking that good?"

Ren nodded his head, agreeing as he explained to Izuku next to him the story behind his cooking in a casual tone, "Pretty much. I'm at level 95 in my [Cooking] skill and about to become MAX soon. Oh, yeah, I should probably tell you about my real Quirk while we follow to catch you up to speed."

Izuku raised an eyebrow as everyone proceeded to the next floor except Bakugo, who was asleep during this time. Mina continues speaking in a confident tone, "So… we're here to decide the King of Rooms!"

Kendo sweated a bit muttering in a nervous tone rubbing her head, "It's fine if we don't do this right…?"

However, her words fell on deaf ears. Ochaco soon mentions the last members of the boys in a curious tone as they're now at the 4th floor, "This floor's got Bakugo, Kirishima, Sero, and Shoto's rooms… right?"

Hearing her words Ida soon spoke up in a confused tone seeing Bakugo not present, "Where is Bakugo, by the way?"

Listening to Ida's words, Kirishima explained as he led everyone to his room in a neutral tone, "He said 'This is dumb. I'm going to bed.' I'm getting tired too…"

That was when Toru hurried Kirishima to his room in an impatient tone, "Then your room's next, Kirishima!! Let's pick up the pace!!"

Kirishima opened the door to his room and showed off in a proud tone, showing off the manliness of his dorm room, "Whatever you say. You girls probably won't get it, though… this manliness!!"

The girls were left stunned with a deadpan expression Mina humming, "Hmm…"

It was when Toru bluntly said out loud what some of the girls thought about Kirishima's den of manliness with harsh criticism, "If I found out my boyfriend had a room that looked like this, I'd dump him."

Kirishima looked depressed, but Ochaco commented in a friendly tone, regaining his enthusiasm, "So bold! Makes me wanna work out!"

Wiping a tear of gratitude from Ochaco's comment, he proudly said, "You get it."

Soon, they moved to Sero's room, with Toga saying in an interested tone, "Next up is Tapeman's room. I wonder what it'll look like?"

Sero merely grinned proudly as he revealed his dorm room the girls exclaimed, impressed, "Wow!"

Mina and Toga both pose as they say excitedly, "Exotic!"

Ochaco soon follows the pose as she exclaims, "It's lovely!"

Impressed, Jiro complimented Sero's exotic decoration, saying, "Sero, I didn't peg you for someone who'd like this stuff."

Sero puffed his chest out as he exclaimed proudly, pointing his finger up, "He, he, he. Yup, that's me, always the wild card."

Everyone soon moved to the final room on the boys' side, as Momo casually said, "Next is Todoroki's room, right?"

Everyone soon reached Todoroki's room, and each of them had an interesting feeling seeing one of the powerhouse dorm rooms. Kinoko thought with an excited tone, 'The most capable student in our class.'

Yui followed suit, showing her neutral expression, but thought curiously, 'The most handsome boy in school.'

Kendo gulped as she also thought in an excited tone, seeing his room, 'A chance to glance into his quiet private life. How exciting!'

Reaching for the door, Todoroki sighed out loud in a tired tone, "Let's get this over with. I'm tired."

*Klik*

Everyone gasped, seeing the inside of Todoroki's room being the traditional Japanese home, "A Japanese style room!!"

Denki, seeing this, asked in a shocked tone, seeing Todoroki's room in disbelief, "It was even built differently than ours!"

Todoroki began to explain as he leisurely entered his dorm room and said in a stoic tone, "We've got these kinds of floor mats at my home. They're much more comfortable than hardwood."

The guys were stunned as Ren asked out of curiosity, liking his room in an impressed tone, "I dig it. But can I ask how did you remodel this entire room in just one day?"

Todoroki stared absentmindedly as he said, "With hard work."

Ren nodded, appeased with the answer as the few students thought, 'No way he did it under a day…!!!'

After the boys were checked, it was the girl's turn to show their rooms, impressing the boys with different variety of rooms, starting with Jiro muttering, "This is embarrassing…"

Opening the door revealed Jiro's room to be filled with punk rock and musical instruments inside, with Denki responding in a stunned tone, "They're even more instruments than we thought!"

Ren, taking a look inside the room, judged it with a sly smile as he muttered, embarrassing Jiro, tapping her earphone jacks tips together shyly, "You're on rockin' girl, Jiro! I'm impressed you can play all of these instruments."

She shyly nodded, accepting the praise as Denki bluntly said, earning her ire, "Nothing girlie about this room. Nope – ouch!"

Puncturing Denki for his rude comment, Toru jumped in joy as she was next in an excited tone, "Next is me! Welcome in, guys!"

Opening the door to her room revealed her filled with pink girly items as she said in a cheerful tone, "What do ya think?"

Kendo was the first to respond in an impressed tone, shyly muttering, "A-Ah... very cute Toru-san…"

Denki spoke up after recovering from Jiro's words equally impressed, "Now this is girly. So pink..."

After Toru's room, Mina revealed hers next in an excited tone as she dragged everyone over, "We can do mine next!"

Showing her class her dorm room, she opened the door to reveal a girl-like room with a clash of black and pink coloring in an excited tone, "Ta-dah! Isn't it super cute?"

The students were stunned soon moving to Ochaco's room her's looked plain as she explained in a sheepish tone, "Yeah, it's not very interesting, I know."

Soon, the other girls' rooms were revealed as Tsuyu showed to have an ethnic room. Kinoko is a mushroom-themed room. Yui has a normal room, just like Ren and Shinso's. Kendo has a karate-like room with a picture of motorcycles. Toga is revealed to be a bit of the vampire theme with some normalcy in her room and a photo of Ren for obvious reasons for the students.

Soon, the last girl to reveal her room was Momo, as Sero said in a curious tone, "Then the last one up is Yaoyorozu."

Momo nodded her head as she looked a bit sheepish as she revealed her room in an embarrassed tone, "Before we go in, let me say that I miscalculated… compared to all your rooms, which are all so unique and original, mine's bit cramped."

She soon revealed her dorm room as a large bed took most of the space Ren said in a surprised tone, "Huge! But cramped? What happened, Yaoyorzu?"

Momo's face blushed a bit as she confessed in an honest tone about her expectations of the dorm room, "This is the same stuff I use back home, but… I never expected our rooms here would be quite so small."

Everyone at that moment who saw her room had one thought in their mind, 'What a princess!'

[Nighttime, UA Highschool, Heights Alliance – 1st Floor, Japan]

Returning to the common area on the 1st floor, Mina held a box containing the votes as she began to announce the winner excitedly, "All right, everybody. Has everyone got their votes in? Remember, you can't pick yourself, guys. And now, without further ado, here are the results of the first Best Room competition, minus Bakugo. Drumroll, please!"

*Drumroll*

In the background, both Jiro and Ren were performing the drum roll as Mina soon revealed in an excited tone, "With a total of 6 votes, the overwhelming winner of this awesome contest is... Izuku Midoriya!"

Izuku's mind blanked out a bit before muttering confusedly, "Haah?! Me?!"

Pointing at himself, Mina nodded as she explained in an excited tone, "Yup! All the girls voted for you. Because you had the most unexpected but cool room out of everyone here! I like your Steampunk room!"

The girls nodded as Izuku rubbed his head in an embarrassed tone, being the winner, "Oh wow… thanks."

The guys soon complained to Izuku hogging the limelight as he chuckled at their antics. But when everything soon settled down, Ren spoke to Momo curiously, "So… did you guys set everything up to make sure things were just how they were used to before? If you did, you succeeded in reassuring me."

Momo chuckled, seeing the Class Rep see through their intent in a neutral tone as she said with a fond smile, "Just as expected of you, Class Rep, nothing ever passes you. Some of us, Ochaco, Asui, Shinso, and a few others, didn't know how to approach you after the news. And then the new student had everyone on edge except for a few of us. Thus, we decided to do the King of the Rooms because we know how everyone's feeling…"

Ren softly chuckled, understanding as he tried to form the right words in a sheepish tone, seemingly looking bashful, "Yeah. I know you guys aren't mad or anything… you just want… well, this is hard to explain, but… I kind of missed the times when I could just hang around without any fear or suspicion. Where we could all just smile together."

Momo merely looked at her classmates as she said curiously, seeing Ren this relaxed as she said bubbly, "So… after all of this, are you finally relaxed? Just know that Class 1-A will still treat you like how you were before. Just a normal student."

Ren froze briefly before releasing a thankful smile, freezing Momo in place as he responded in a genuine thankful tone, "Thanks, Momo. It's good to have you as Class Vice Rep to take care of everyone and myself. Tell everyone thanks for setting this up."

Momo blushed lightly, seeing the gentle expression Ren had as she nodded her head with him, going to his room, she thought in a happy tone, 'Good. Seems like the plan helping everyone unwind worked. Glad to have our usual Class Rep back.'

However, she then blushed a bit harder, recalling her family's request as she gazed at Ren while he looked over his classmates, 'Still though it seems like my Family is requesting that they want to meet with him as soon as possible for... an arranged Quirk Marriage proposal and I don't mind having him as a future husband for the Yaoyorozu Family...'
