Chapter 5: a match
The teacher declared calmly, "Also, today is your training match," which sparked a murmur of excitement throughout the class. Everyone seemed eager to show off their skills, but there was also noticeable tension among those who were less confident. The clan members remained composed, probably because they were already aware of this development. Their calmness did not surprise me.
Obito cast a determined glance at Rin, as if he was set on defeating everyone to impress her. I shifted my gaze to Asuma, who was deep in thought and often looked toward Kurenai. I didn't quite understand why he was so focused on her. It seemed odd compared to my old world, but here, it looked normal.
The teacher's voice broke the chatter. "The matches will be one-on-one. Remember, no jutsu, just taijutsu. Hikari and Kiko, please step forward."
Hikari from the Yamanaka clan faced Kiko, a commoner. The match lasted only a couple of moves. As expected, Hikari won easily. After the match, both competitors performed the Seal of Reconciliation. The other matches started up quickly. I watched each fight closely, observing different tactics and techniques. Some fights were impressive, showing great skill, while others highlighted areas that needed improvement. It was clear everyone was pushing their limits and giving their all.
Kurenai, Asuma, and Obito each won their matches effortlessly. Rin, on the other hand, was defeated by Siku Nara, which seemed normal. Don't assume that the Nara clan can't fight—just because they are known for their brains doesn't mean they are weak.
When it was my turn, I walked to the front of the room without showing any emotion. I faced Yuki Hyuga and performed the Seal of Confrontation. Without hesitation, I kicked at him. He blocked the kick, and we started a series of moves—kicks, lunges, deflections, and jumps. The fight was tough and required me to stay alert. Yuki's Byakugan allowed him to see my every move, making him a formidable opponent. I had to be quick and smart, constantly adjusting my strategy to keep up with his precise attacks. Thanks to my recent intense training and the skills I had gained from Jin's template, I was able to move fluidly and strike effectively. Despite Yuki's ability to see my moves, my speed was too much for him to handle. With a final decisive strike, I secured my victory.
When all the matches were over, the teacher gathered us together. "Good job, everyone. Today's training was a valuable test of your abilities. Remember, each match teaches you something. Analyze what you did well and what you can improve, and keep working on your skills."
As the class started to break up, I was once again surrounded by the busy academy environment. The earlier stares and whispers had faded, replaced by a quieter atmosphere of post-match discussions. My mind wandered to my larger goals. Each day, I was getting closer to achieving my dreams of revenge and mastery. The training and experiences at the academy were just steps in a bigger journey. I had to navigate complex relationships, hone my skills, and prepare for the future. Walking out of the academy, I felt the weight of my responsibilities and ambitions pressing on me. The path ahead was still uncertain, but with my determination and the gacha at my disposal, I felt ready to face whatever came next. My quest for revenge was just beginning, and I was ready to shape my own destiny in this ever-changing world .
