Chapter 11: Bringing the Fight

Later on in the infirmary, Anne, Luz Amity and Marcy were getting patched up from their recent scuffle against Hekapoo. It shamed them to know that they not only were unable to beat Hekapoo, but that they could not earn the dimensional scissors they hoped to have.

Of course, the only one who earned a pair was Sasha, who seemed to have earned it in a separate way. From the looks of things, Hekapoo seemed to favor Sasha, likely due to her aggressive nature.

Anne was happy for Sasha, somewhat, and not surprised she pulled it off, but she did have to wonder what Sasha would do with such an item. Marcy was somewhat happy, but kind of worried, she didn't know what this meant as far as adventuring went, but hoped to speak with Sasha later.

Luz was furious, she expected better from herself, but figured this meant she needed to work harder, even if she felt she was much worthier than Sasha. Amity was just irritated, and hoped this meant that Sasha wouldn't have power over her or any of her friends.

"Hey girls," Marco said, peeking his head inside the room. "Feeling better?"

"Oh, hi Marco, we're fine, mostly," Anne said. "Wounds are pretty much patched up, though my head's still ringing a bit Those Hekapoo clones really beat the heck out of us."

"I still feel like one of my organs got punctured," Luz said, holding her stomach. "I really need to get better at magic."

"Same, we gotta get better at fighting," Amity said. "Hekapoo's a strong reminder that we're still a long way from being the best at anything, and if that was Belos we were fighting, we'd probably be dead."

Marco checked over the girls, and any lingering bruises. "Well, at least you looked a bit healed up, Amity doesn't have swelling, and her cut's bandaged up. I got worried when I saw blood from you girls."

"It's only a little blood," Luz said, trying to play it cool.

"Didn't seem like a little to me, it's very much unnatural to bleed from your mouth," Marco said. "You said it yourself, you think an organ got punctured, I hope they checked for that."

"They did, it hurts but there's no long-term damage," Luz said.

"Yeah, we're gonna be fine," Anne said.

"Yeah, that's all that matters," Marco said, checking Marcy's face. "Aw, you're still a bit bruised."

"I'm fine, it's just a black eye, it'll go away with a bit more icing," Marcy said, placing an ice pack over her eye.

"Hope it goes away fast," Marco said. "Wish I knew some healing spells, or any spells at all. Without Star's wand I mean."

"Marco, it's good that you care, but keep in mind that we're all going to still be fighting," Amity said. "These won't be our last bruises."

"Yeah, I know, I just hate seeing girls get hurt, you know?" Marco said. "I don't mean to say you can't handle a punch-"

"It's fine, we get it, you're a guy and it's in your nature to worry about girls," Anne said.

"That's actually really sweet of you, any girl would be lucky to have a guy like you who cares so much," Luz said.

"Got that right, and that girl might be closer than you think," Amity said, shifting her eyebrows, both Luz and Anne hoping that Marco got the hint.

"Huh?" Marco said, raising his eyebrow in confusion, much to the annoyance of the girls present, aside from Marcy.

"Never mind," Amity said. Part of her envied Marco's dense nature, at least he isn't suffering an agonizing crush like she has been lately.

"Well if you're feeling better, we should go meet up with Star," Marco said. "She, Tom and Kelly were all really worried about you."

"There's nothing to worry about, I've had way worse than Hekapoo," Anne said.

"Really? What?" Marcy asked.

"You know...the temples," Anne reminded.

Marcy raised her eyebrow in confusion, "You didn't get beat up at the temples, I mean maybe the third one a little, but nothing compared to Hekapoo."

"Well...I fought giant insects," Anne said.

"Anne, you know you don't have to make yourself sound tough, no one's thinking any less of you because of what happened," Marco said.

"I'm not just trying to sound tough, I really have been in tough spots," Anne said.

"Well how many of them got you beaten up?" Amity asked.

"A few...but I stood back up, which is the point I'm trying to make," Anne said.

Amity rolled her eyes in annoyance, "You sound like a show-off."

"Huh? No I don't!" Anne initially denied, though did take a moment to think it over. "Wait, do I?"

"Don't worry about it Anne, you're still really cool to me," Luz said.

"Oh, sweet," Anne said, flexing a bit. "I am pretty cool aren't I?"

Once again Amity was annoyed, all this was gonna do was stroke Anne's ego. Though now the young witch wondered how similar Anne and Sasha might be in regard to such a thing.

Marco led the girls to the throne room, where in addition to the Butterfly Family; Eda, King, Lilith and The Plantars were waiting. Upon seeing the girls, they immediately rushed over to check on them.

"Thank goodness you're alright," Hop Pop said. "You girls are alright, aren't you?"

"We're fine Hop-Pop, nothing to worry about," Anne said.

"I heard that Hekapoo chick really messed you kids up, and all for a pair of those scissors?" Eda asked.

"Well yeah, they travel dimensions," Luz said. "They're really great tools to have."

"So she had to test us to see if we were worthy of a pair," Marcy said.

"Still, it sounds like she was really mean about the test," Sprig said.

"I wouldn't be surprised if she just used that as an excuse to hurt you," Polly said.

"Polly, be polite," Hop Pop scolded. "Though, even I must admit my skepticism of this Hekapoo lady."

"Right up there with you, Hopediah," Eda said. "I mean, who's to say she even planned to give any of them a pair?"

"Hekapoo's not the nicest, but she wouldn't hurt someone for no reason," Marco said.

"Marco's right, in the end, Hekapoo's job is to protect Mewni," Star said. "But given her previous actions, I wouldn't put it past her if she was making the whole scissors thing up. She probably just wanted extra training."

"Well at the very least, she did give Sasha a pair," Marco said. "So she somewhat followed through on her promise."

"Wait, so Sasha has those Dimension Traveling Scissors?" Sprig asked.

"That means she can go home," Polly said. "That means she can take Anne and Marcy home too."

"Luz as well," King added.

"Oh yeah, that's a bright side," Anne said. "I'd love to check in on my mom at least, maybe after this war ends, I don't think my mom will let me fight if I tried going home now."

"Yeah, what Anne said," Marcy agreed, looking away in shame. She was not ready to go home, and truthfully she did not want her friends to leave just yet either.

"I don't think I'll go home yet either, I'm still not a witch like I wanted to be," Luz said. "Having my own pair of scissors would have been handy though, I can check in with my mom during my training, at the very least let her know I'm safe. I probably should have been home by now."

"Oh yeah, I should have been home months ago, I really gotta see my mom," Anne said.

"I really wish I had my scissors," Marco said. "Wait Star, you saw Andrias, did you ask him about the scissors?"

"Oooooh," Star said, grimacing a bit. "Yeah, I knew I forgot something.

"What? Star! Come on! Those scissors are important!" Marco scolded.

"Hey don't take that tone with me, you're the one who lost those scissors in the first place," Star reminded. "If you're that worried, you go back to Newtopia and look for them."

"Maybe I will," Marco said. "I just...need to borrow a pair of scissors to do so."

"And I can help, I know Newtopia pretty well after all," Marcy said.

"Marcy, that's really helpful and all, and I understand why you would need to go Marco, but trying to find a pair of scissors in a city like that could take a long time," Amity pointed out.

"Plus, maybe they'll turn up," Sprig said. "Lost things usually turn up after a while."

"Hopefully not in the wrong hands," Marco said.

"Hey its more than likely a Royal Guard member will find them, and they can be trusted," Marcy said.

"What if they throw the scissors away thinking it's garbage?" Luz asked, many immediately eyeing her in worry. "What, no one considered that possibility?"

"...Star, don't you have any backup scissors you can give me?" Marco asked.

"No, and even if I did, I can't exactly disagree with Hekapoo's annoyance, those are a really valuable pair of scissors you lost," Star said.

"I got ambushed! Come on, I'm only human! Mistakes happen!" Marco said.

"Look, later we can all look and ask around, might be hard now since everyone's focused on the war with The Boiling Isles," Anne said. "But in time, we'll find those scissors, we just need a cool head."

"By the way, is there any sign whatsoever of those Coven Guards coming back?" Marco asked.

"Not yet," Star said. "Is this normal for Belos?"

"Belos is a bit hard to read sometimes," Eda said. "But he's a very calculating type of guy, make sure everyone keeps an eye out, otherwise he'll just strike without warning, and that will be disastrous for us."

"Should we go find Hekapoo and see what she wants to do?" Luz asked.

"Where is she anyway?" Anne wondered.

Meanwhile, some distance away from the castle, Hekapoo was leading Sasha, Tom and Kelly towards where the portal to the Boiling Isles was last seen.

"So, what's the plan again?" Tom asked.

"For the last time, we're using the Dimensional Scissors, sneaking into Belos's castle, and offing him!" Hekapoo said.

"Right...and will it be that easy?" Tom asked.

"Of course, I've been to his castle before, I think we can find him with no trouble," Hekapoo said. "I can easily just use the scissors to appear right in his throne room. We go in, take him out, and boom, instant victory."

"Wait, if you could do this, why didn't you do so yesterday and not let the entire army fight and die for nothing?" Tom asked.

"You ask way too many questions," Sasha said. "Just trust Hekapoo, she knows what she's doing."

"Thanks Sasha, this is why you're my general," Hekapoo said.

Tom huffed in annoyance, "She totally dodged my question."

"Tom, maybe we should drop it," Kelly said.

"Drop what? Those two don't know what they're doing, they're just making up plans as they go," Tom said.

"You know we can hear you," Hekapoo said.

"Oh you can, well that's great, hopefully you'll take what I said to heart!" Tom said.

"You're such a whiner," Sasha said. "What does Star see in a guy like you anyway?"

"Wow...going there huh?" Tom said.

"Just be ready to fight," Hekapoo said, opening the portal. "Lead the charge, Sasha."

"With pleasure," Sasha grabbed her sword before leading her allies into Belos's castle, the girl ready for a fight.

On the other side of the portal were the various Coven Guards, Sasha and Hekapoo sneaking around with their two allies, ready to find Belos and put an end to this conflict. For the time being, they stuck to the shadows, knowing that a direct confrontation would not be wise.

"The Throne Room isn't too far away, follow me," Hekapoo said.

"Couldn't you open the portal in his Throne Room? Haven't you been there before?" Tom asked.

"If I did, he probably would have seen us, we're trying to use the element of surprise," Hekapoo said. "I swear, sometimes you're as dumb as Marco can be."

"How does anyone put up with you?" Tom lamented.

"Hold it," Sasha said, gesturing her team behind some pillars as some Coven Guards walked by, talking amongst themselves.

"When do you think Lord Belos will send the troops back out there?" One guard asked.

"Soon, though given some trouble he's had around here, I wouldn't be surprised if his mind was in two places at once," the other guard said.

"You mean those rebels, wonder who they could be?" the first guard said.

"Just a bunch of low-lives, their days are numbered," the second guard said.

Sasha gestured to her team, "Take them out and steal their clothes."

"Ooh, stealth, not as exciting but still a good plan," Kelly said. "Lets go Tom."

The two snuck over to the guards and pulled them aside, beating them up and stealing their clothes.

"Hekapoo, lets find out own disguises," Sasha said.

"Right behind you," Hekapoo said, following after Sasha, the two locating a couple more guards and knocking them out.

Some time later, the four strolling through the Castle, careful not to stand out among the other Coven Guards. As they got close to Belos's room, the four spotted two familiar faces.

"I'm just itching to get back out there, I hope Emperor Belos gives the order soon," Hunter said.

"You'll get your chance," Ludo said. "I must say, I admire that determination of yours, you truly are bred for battle."

"It's not just that, it's about proving my Loyalty to Emperor Belos," Hunter said. "That and having another chance at that annoying blonde girl."

Sasha turned to Hunter, keeping a close eye on him.

"That girl's really gotten your attention, hasn't she?" Ludo said.

"Of course, she tried making a fool out of me, I mean she only got the upper hand because I went easy on her," Hunter insisted.

"Did you now?" Ludo curiously asked.

"Well yeah, I wouldn't actually go too hard fighting a girl, they're delicate creatures after all," Hunter said, Sasha looking infuriated and ready to attack at any moment. Fortunately her team was there to prevent that.

"Girls are delicate at times, but they can also be quite deadly, as you saw with that girl," Ludo said. "In battle, it's smart not to discriminate based on gender."

"I won't make that mistake again, I'll totally destroy her," Hunter said, then reeled back. "Well maybe not destroy her, but at least prove I'm better than her so she doesn't look down on me."

"You'll do just that my boy, why don't you get some training in first?" Ludo said, then turned to the disguised heroes. "You four, would any of you like to train with Hunter?"

While nervous at first, their worries were dampened when Hunter spoke up, "Don't bother, they're just a bunch of weak guards. That girl took down a bunch with no problem. I hate to admit it, but she has a lot of skill...kind of cute too."

"What was that last part?" Ludo asked, unaware of Sasha visibly reacting to what Hunter had said.

Hunter frantically scrambled to find his words, "Uh, nothing! I'll go find someone worthy to spar with."

Hunter immediately ran off while Ludo chuckled to himself, "That boy, he can accomplish more than he thinks he can, he just needs a...proper change of pace." Ludo turned to the four guards, "You best be on your way, don't want to keep your Emperor waiting."

As Ludo left, Tom began chuckling to himself, "Looks like you got an admire Sasha."

"Oh shut up," Sasha said, grateful that no one could see her blushing. "Just move your asses."

The four snuck over to the throne room where Belos was seen conversing with Kikimora, as well as two other members of his coven, Darius and Eberwolf.

"Any sign of those rebels?" Belos asked.

"We have leads, but they're still giving us the slip every chance they get," Darius said. "It's like they know what we're going to do before we do it. There might be someone on the inside helping them out."

"Who would be foolish enough to try such a thing?" Kikimora said.

"Someone who's not long for this world, once I find this person, it's over," Darius said. "I will put an end to this whole rebellion myself if need be."

"This is a fine time to have a rebellion, especially in the middle of our conquering of Mewni," Kikimora said.

"Nothing say we can't accomplish two thing sat once," Belos said. "Our enemies, both internal and external, will fall, it is just a matter of patience."

"I'll start with the internal," Darius said. "Lets go Eberwolf."

The little wolf creature followed Darius as the duo made their way out of Belos's room.

"I shall make contact with our forces, when shall we strike." Kikimora asked.

"Tomorrow morning, keep Mewni waiting a bit longer, let them know that we're the ones in control," Belos said.

"Not for long..." Hekapoo muttered to herself.

Kikimora made her exit from the room, barely paying any mind to the disguised heroes as she decided to seek out Hunter and Ludo.

"Let's do this," Hekapoo said to her friends, the four sneaking into the room as Belos faced his portal. They got in closer, ready to strike when...

"May I do anything for you?" Belos said, turning around to face the four supposed guards.

"Uh...we just wanted to know if..." Tom tried thinking of something quicky. "You wanted any tea?"

"...Tea?" Belos asked, mildly confused.

"Screw this," Hekapoo tossed away her disguise and lunged in to attack, "DIE BELOS!"

Suddenly some vines grabbed Hekapoo, wrapping around her body and neck, ready to squeeze her completely. Sasha had tossed her disguise away as well, using her sword to slice through the vines binding Hekapoo then lunged in to attack Belos.

The Emperor was quick to evade her strike, sending more magic at her while Kelly and Tom tossed their disguises aside as well, leaping in to assist.

"We're taking you down Belos, for Mewni!" Kelly swung her sword but Belos blocked with some magic and whacked Kelly against the wall.

Tom tried burning Belos with his demon magic, the experienced titan side stepping and wrapping vines around the young demon, slamming him against the walls a few times.

"Sasha, double team!" Hekapoo ordered, the two rushing in and attempting to strike Belos with their combination of Hekapoo's scissors and Sasha's sword, their opponent proving to be too fast for them.

"HAAA!" Kelly charged in with her own sword, trying to impale Belos but one strike from the Emperor sent the Woolett girl flying back and did the same for Sasha and Hekapoo.

"This was quite the gamble you rolled," Belos taunted. "I will admit, clever use of disguse, but still outmatched."

"Don't get cocky!" Hekapoo lunged to attack but Belos wrapped around both her wrists with some vines, glancing down with a sinister smile.

"To think that the next time we met, you would come for my life," Belos said.

"Of course I'm coming for you, after all you are invading Mewni, and my job is to protect it from the likes of you!" Hekapoo said.

"I'm afraid you aren't doing the best job then," Belos said, then quickly dodged a sword strike from Sasha and immediately disarmed her. "And who might you be?"

"The name's Sasha!" the girl quickly grabbed one of her hidden daggers from her coat and tried to stab Belos but he was quick to block that strike. She pulled one from the other pocket but Belos had knocked that away too.

Immediately she went for a kick that Belos backstepped but in the process, she pulled out another dagger from her shoe and tossed it at Belos, nearly taking him by surprise, but he managed to catch the blade. "Clever."

Sasha ran over to grab her sword and freed Hekapoo once again, "Lets finish him off."

"You're quite a remarkable solider, tell me, would you happen to be a human?" Belos asked.

"Yeah, what of it?" Sasha replied.

"Fascinating, to think humans are capable of such agility and battle techniques, a lesser man would have been taken out by now," Belos said. "I must say, you're the second human girl that's come into my precious domain."

"Well unlike her, I have a vicious streak," Sasha said. "Luz is too pure to be a threat."

"So you've met her, though I don't think I would use 'pure' as the right word to describe her, she has her own selfish motivations as well," Belos said. "If she's pure by your standards, I must wonder what you could be capable of."

"You're gonna find out!" Sasha ran in to strike but Belos had side stepped while opening a portal to another realm, trapping the teen girl on the other side.

"Sasha!" Hekapoo shouted in worry. "Where did you send her!?"

"Oh don't worry, she shouldn't be in any immediate danger," Belos taunted.

Hekapoo aimed her scissors, "You bring her back right now!"

"What is going on in here!?" Came the voice of Kikimora as the woman stumbled into the room alongside Darius and Eberwolf. "Intruders!?"

"Take them out!" Hekapoo ordered.

"Got it!" Kelly charged at the trio, but Eberwolf had latched onto her head, scratching about. "Get off me you mutt!"

Tom was about to help but Darius transformed into a goop state and punched the demon out of the castle, following after him.

Kelly herself had tossed Eberwolf out of the hole that Darius made, but the wolf creature came back in riding on a snake, looking a lot more feral. "Holy crap!"

She was then tackled, sent through the castle walls, alerting everyone in the vicinity as Kikimora followed after to maintain control.

"Must they cause such a mess?" Belos slightly lamented. "Oh well, some things can't be helped."

"DIE!" Hekapoo tried to strike but Belos was quick to dodge out of the way.

"Word of advice, if you're going in for the kill, don't alert the person you are trying to eliminate, that's just counterproductive," Belos said.

As he was saying this, a portal had opened beside him, and within moments a sword was slashing him on the arm, Belos reeling in pain. From the portal was Sasha, "Appreciate the tip."

"You, but how?" Belos took note of Sasha's possession, "I see, you too have the Dimensional Scissors."

"Yeah, I totally earned these," Sasha said, readying her sword. "And now you'll see why."

She quickly went for more of a strike but Belos wrapped his vine around her neck, attempting to squeeze the life out of her.

"Sasha!" Hekapoo rushed in to jab her scissors into Belos's ribs, the Emperor quickly using his own scissors for a quick retreat. "Coward!" She turned to Sasha and helped free her from the vines. "You doing alright, Sash?"

"Yeah, feeling peachy H-Poo," Sasha said.

Hekapoo chuckled a bit, "H-Poo? Come on, I get enough of that from Marco. Do you want to be a dork like him?"

"Hell no," Sasha said, taking a look around ."Where's Belos?"

"Bastard gave me the slip," Hekapoo said. "We'll find him, there aren't too many places he could have gone, at least I hope."

"Should we head back to Mewni in case he's going there?" Sasha asked.

"We gotta get Tom and Kelly first," Hekapoo said. "A few more of Belos's guards showed up. Some guy who turns into goo and a little wolf kid."

"That's unusual," Sasha said. "We should get going then."

"Yeah lets...crap, look who's here," Hekapoo said, gesturing to Hunter, the boy with Ludo and a pair of guards.

"It's you! That human girl from Mewni!" Hunter said, readying his Palisman. "Finally I can repay the favor from our fight. You won't win a second time."

"More like you won't win a first time, I got your number kid, you're nothing against me," Sasha said.

"How dare you! I am an elite guard for Emepror Belos!" Hunter said, then took a look around. "Wait, where is he?"

"We send him running with his tail between his legs," Sasha said. "That washed up old man has nothing on us."

"So for your sake, little boy, run along and leave this mess to the adults," Hekapoo taunted.

Hunter grumbled in annoyance, "I will not tolerate such disrespect! For the glory of Emperor Belos, I will-"

Suddenly he took a whack to the head from one of the guards, courtesy of his helmet, revealing himself to be Gus, "Been waiting to do that."

"What in the world?" Ludo said, then found himself wrapped up in vines, "What is happening!"

The other guard took off her helmet, revealing herself to be Willow as she focused on the two foreigners, "You two, come with us."

"Who are you?" Sasha asked.

"No time to explain," Gus said. "But know that we're on your side, we hate Belos too."

"What do you make of this Hekapoo?" Sasha asked.

"Well, they did knock out that little punk, and they seem weak enough for us to destroy if they cross us," Hekapoo said.

"Excuse me, but you realize that we're trying to save your lives here!" an annoyed Gus said. "Come on, if you don't get moving you're going to find yourselves surrounded!"

"Fine, but you better lead us to our allies," Hekapoo said, following after Gus and Willow with Sasha.

Before she left, she backed up to a rising Hunter and stomped on his head, sending him back down, "That's two for me, Golden Brat."

"You're horrible," Ludo said.

"Who asked you, beak face?" Sasha said, running off with her team.

"Even Star Butterfly was a tiny bit nicer when she thwarted my plans," Ludo commented.

Sasha and Hekapoo ran with Gus and Willow outside, the four spotting Kelly trying to fend off Eberwolf, swinging her blade at his pet snake.

"You're really getting on my nerves, mutt!" Kelly shouted. As the snake lunged again, it somehow missed it's target, crashing to the ground and sending Eberwolf flying off.

"What just happened?" Sasha asked.

"I created an illusion so he missed your friend, that won't work long though, lets get your friend and leave," Gus said.

"Kelly, this way!" Hekapoo ordered, her woolett ally following after the quarter and making a run for it just as Eberwolf recovered, the young irritated at his inability to capture Kelly.

Relenting, he decided to meet up with Darius, hoping for a better outcome for his ally.

Meanwhile while the five were making their escape, they found that Belos's castle was heavily packed with guards surrounding the place.

"This way, quick," Gus said, gesturing his allies away from the castle.

"Wait, what about Tom?" Kelly asked.

"We'll come back later, but the guards are on high alert, if we get caught then no one can help your friend," Gus said.

"We can't just leave him though," Kelly said.

"He'll be fine, if worse comes to worse, he can retreat," Hekapoo said. "Tom can freely travel dimensions, but this boy's right, getting caught won't do us any good."

"Name's Gus by the way," the illusionist said. "Gus Porter."

"I'm Willow Park," the plant powered girl said.

"Sasha Waybright," the blonde swordswoman said.

"Hekapoo," the demon woman said.

"I'm Kelly," the Woolett introduced.

"Alright, Sasha, Hekapoo, Kelly, this way," Gus said, leading them to a secret hideout.

Meanwhile Darius was still battling Tom, the demon kid using his fire magic to keep his opponent at bay, though not without some struggle.

"Who is this guy, how is he so strong!?" Tom quickly flew around, trying to avoid Darius's assault.

"That's one fast kid, I'll give him that," Darius lunged to attack again, pinning Tom down against the ground. "Alright, start talking, who are you!?"

"I don't respond well too aggression," Tom taunted, then found Darius's self formed blade jammed next to his head.

"I am not in the mood for games, start explaining yourself," Darius said. "Are you Mewman?"

"Do I look Mewman? They look almost exactly like you in the Boiling Isles, except without the pointy ears," Tom said. "I'm a demon."

"A demon? From around here?" Darius asked.

"Not quite, listen I'd love to talk more, but I need to catch my ride," within seconds, Tom had disappeared into a self-made portal.

"Wait!" Darius groaned in annoyance, "Dammit...Guess I should go report this failure to Belos, hope he's not in too foul of a mood."

Meanwhile Tom had reappeared in Mewni for a quick second to gather his bearings, "That was one strong guy, if he ever gets sent here, things could go really bad. I gotta get back to Kelly and the others."

Back with Gus, he had led his allies to their lair where several other guards, or rather witches in disguse were gathered.

"Uh, what is this place?" Hekapoo asked.

"A rebellion site against Belos," Gus said. "Their goal is to liberate various corrupted covens across The Boiling Isles."

"Us, not so much, not that we don't agree but we do have our own stuff to worry about," Willow said. "Such as trying to survive."

"Gus! Willow!" A girl shouted, startling the two. "That stupid owl of yours is making another mess!"

"Sorry Amber, we'll deal with Hooty in a second," Gus said.

"Also, who are they?" Amber asked, gesturing to the three newcomers.

"Amber, meet Kelly, Sasha and Hekapoo," Gus said.

"We found them at Belos's castle," Willow said. "They got into quite an altercation with Darius and Eberwolf."

"Also Hekapoo and I basically sent Belos packing," Sasha boasted.

"Its true, Belos was gone when we got to the fight," Gus said.

"You mean you two actually drove off Emperor Belos? As in THE Emperor Belos? The dangerous titan that has many people living in fear? The ones we're defying at the risk of our own lives?" Amber asked.

"Well, yeah, pretty much," Gus said.

"Oh man, wait till Raine hears about this," Amber said.

"Who's Raine?" Sasha asked.

"That's the leader, who seems to be coming now," Gus said, gesturing to an older witch in glasses.

"Gus? Willow? What's happening?" Raine asked.

"Hi Raine, we ran into these three at Belos's castle, they claim to have fought him," Gus said.

"You three fought Emperor Belos?" Raine asked.

"There's a fourth one of us, he's still out there, fighting one of Belos's guards," Kelly said.

"Darius to be precise," Willow said.

Raine's eyes widened in surprise, "Darius you say? And this boy is still out there?"

"He'll be fine, he's a demon, he can get out of a scrape," Hekapoo said.

"We had to run because security tightened, we thought about going back out there to look for him," Gus said.

"Don't bother," Came the voice of Tom, the boy stepping through the portal. "Hey thanks for leaving me in the battlefield."

"Oh, you found us?" Hekapoo asked.

"I picked up traces of your energy, I was able to give that other guy the slip," Tom said.

"You actually held your own against my brother?" Raine asked. "I'm impressed."

"Wait, brother? You're related to that guy?" Sasha asked. "Wait, what's your story, what's this about you rebelling against corrupted covens?"

"Also what exactly is a coven?" Kelly asked.

"It's a group of witches who have come together for one common reason or another," Raine explained. "I myself was a member once, working directly for the Emperor. That's a life I chose to leave behind for many reasons. Covens are one way Belos keeps order, but it creates an unfortunate hierarchy."

"Witches are usually forced to pick Covens in the Boiling Isles, so it tends to restrict freedom as well," Amber said.

"So your goal is to liberate this land," Hekapoo said. "Well, that certainly aligns with our goal."

'What goal? Who are you four anyway?" Amber asked. "Are any of you witches?"

"I'm a demon actually," Tom said. "My name is Tom Lucitor."

"Lucitor? That's interesting, I think I read that name in a file once," Raine said.

"My family's been to the Boiling Isles a few times," Tom said.

"So what, is he a noble?" Amber asked.

"Noble, maybe not, I am rich though," Tom said. "But yeah, not a witch, I don't think witches have three eyes."

"They do, one of our classmates has three eyes," Gus said. "But she's also kind of a bully so we don't talk about her much."

"Is she really a bully? Or is she just being real?" Sasha asked.

"Uh, what does that mean?" Willow asked. "Also, I've been meaning to ask, are you a human?"

"Yeah, I'm a human," Sasha said.

"Oh sweet, a friend of ours is human," Gus said. "We haven't seen her in a few days, we're kind of worried."

"This friend, I take it her name is Luz Noceda?" Sasha asked.

Willow's eyes widened, "Wait, you know Luz?"

"I thought your names sounded familiar," Kelly said. "I think I heard Luz mention you once or twice."

"Where is she? Is she alright?" Gus asked.

"Yeah she's fine, I met her a few days ago in Amphibia," Sasha explained.

"What's Amphibia?" Gus asked.

"Oh...I think I heard about it from one of my books," Willow said. "Amphibia is a world of frog creatures, though I thought it was just a myth," Willow said.

"No myth here, Amphibia is a true place," Sasha said. "Anyway she showed up one day and...well I don't know the full story but my friend Anne does. She basically took in Luz, a little dog thing and some old lady."

"Their names are King and Eda," Tom said, Raine's eyes widening. "At least try to remember their names."

"Young man, did you just say 'Eda'?" Raine asked. "As in 'Eda Clawthorne'?"

"Yeah why? Do you know her?" Tom asked.

Raine turned away, hiding a bit of shame, "Yeah...I met her long ago once. It sounds like she got herself into a pickle."

"Yeah but she's fine, she's kind of lively," Kelly said.

"That sounds like Eda," Raine said.

"Well anyway they stayed with Anne for a bit, or rather the family she was staying with and then along came another human boy named Marco, and a witch from this place, a girl named Amity Blight," Sasha said.

"Amity's there too!?" Willow asked.

"Figures you'd know her since she knows Luz," Sasha said.

"Amity's a childhood friend of mine, I've actually known her longer than Luz has," Willow said.

"Well she somehow ended up in Mewni, which this world is battling against," Sasha said. "Eda's sister is there too, living in the castle of the King and Queen."

"Oh good, Lilith's safe as well," Willow said. "Wait, so you've been to Mewni?"

"Yeah, I work there, my job is to protect it," Hekapoo said.

"I don't really need to protect it, I just go there because I have friends there," Kelly said. "I'm orginally from Woolandia."

"I don't think I'm familiar with that place," Gus said, his allies agreeing.

"I go to Mewni because my girlfriend lives there," Tom said. "She's the Princess."

"Oh, dating a Princess, lucky you," Raine said. "I take it she's nice?"

"Oh yeah, really nice, a bit hyper, but that's what makes her so lovable," Tom said.

"Pfft, lovable," Hekapoo mocked. "She's got a long ways to go as far as maturing if she's going to take the throne."

"Hey, Star's a great Princess, she probably protects Mewni more than you do these days," Kelly said.

"Hey bite your tongue, I'm the one who lead an assault on Belos while Star stayed back home feeling sorry for herself," Hekapoo said.

"Nothing was stopping her from coming either," Sasha said.

"Did you even invite her?" Tom asked.

"This was meant to be a small, espionage team, unfortunately we got stuck with you," Sasha said.

"You are so full of yourself," Tom said. "How does a nice girl like Anne put up with you?"

Sasha furrowed her brow in annoyance, "Really tired of everyone saying that, everyone talking like they know me."

"Well you aren't showing a nicer side to yourself now are you?" Tom asked. "Is it any wonder that Marco doesn't seem to trust you?"

"You mean the same Marco that's back home, possibly buttering up your girlfriend?" Sasha taunted.

"She's got a point Tom, Marco could swoop Star from right under you," Hekapoo said.

"Hey Marco's a bro, he wouldn't do that," Tom said.

"I'm with Tom, Marco wouldn't do something like that," Kelly said. "He and Star are just friends."

"Kelly, even you should know how close those two are," Hekapoo said. "But all hope is not lost. I mean with girls like Luz, Anne, Marcy and Amity there, Marco can make his choice of one of those four."

"No doubt one of them likes Marco," Sasha said.

"Definitely not Amity," Willow muttered to herself.

"You know, speaking of our friends back in Mewni, maybe we should go check on them," Tom said. "I want to make sure they're healing up alright."

"Healing up!?" Willow asked. "Wait, what happened!? Is Luz hurt? Or Amity?"

"Nothing happened, Hekapoo put your friends and mine through some training, and they got their asses kicked," Sasha said.

"They put up quite a fight though, I will give them that," Hekapoo said. "Luz is a great magic user, but she's physically weak. Amity's good at summoning, but I'd suggest a bit more variety. Anne could definitely take a beating and Marcy, she seems better as a planner than a fighter."

"I'm surprised you could even hurt Amity, she's a top witch in our school," Gus said.

"If she's top, then I am a bit worried for your generation of young witches," Hekapoo said. "She talks a big game but, she can't really back it up well."

"Also, just putting it out here, she really pisses me off sometimes," Sasha said. "Of course so do Marco and Luz."

"What's wrong with Luz? She's nice," Gus said.

"She's also trying to steal my friends, because she's desperate for human friends or something," Sasha said. "Shame, sounds like you two might not be enough."

"Sasha, don't go there," Kelly said. "Luz mentioned missing Gus and Willow, so she clearly values them."

"Which is why we should bring Gus and Willow to Mewni so Luz can see them again, it would make her really happy," Tom said.

"Oh, and Raine, you can meet Eda," Kelly said.

Raine waved that gesture off, "Not a good idea right now, I'm worried she might get wrapped up in all this."

"She's already agreed to protect Mewni from Belos, and it seems like you have a common enemy," Kelly said. "You should totally come by."

"I...suppose so," Raine said, hoping this wouldn't backfire. "First thing's first, why don't you make sure Gus and Willow see their friend."

"Of course," Kelly said, grabbing her scissors and opening a portal. "We'll be right back."

"Wait, let me grab Hooty," Gus said, leaving to find the owl.

"Oh good, keep him the hell away from here while you're at it!" Amber said.

In Mewni's castle, Luz, Anne, Amity, Marcy and Marco were all waiting in Star's room, hanging out a bit while Star figured some stuff out. Ivy, Polly, Sprig, Maddie and King were playing a game of cards nearby.

"Got any threes?" Sprig asked.

"Go fish," Ivy said.

"I thought we were playing poker?" King said.

"Yeah, I've been betting money on this, Polly keeps cleaning me out," Maddie said.

Sprig eyed his little sister, "Polly..."

"Hey, no one said anything before," Polly said, giving Maddie back her money.

"Ugh!" Ivy tossed her cards away. "This is boring, where's the action?"

"We're on break, or at least that's what Princess Star said," Sprig said. "Those witch people will come back soon, and we'll be able to do something."

"Don't underestimate Belos's Coven, he's Emperor for a reason, and with that comes a powerful army," King said.

"I'm not afraid of an army, I went against Toads," Sprig said.

"Uh, no offense Sprig, but I don't think Toads can compare to the Emperor's Guards," King said. "Things can get pretty ruthless."

"We have Anne, and Luz is strong too, matched with their friends, and I think we'll be alright," Sprig said.

"I hope so, kind of want things to go back to normal, then I can try finding my dad again," King said. "I just hope he wants to see me."

"Aw, of course he does King," Polly reassured. "I bet he can't wait to see you with his own eyes."

"I know I'd be happy, you're an awesome guy King," Ivy said. "Like we said before, we're with you on this."

"At the very least, you have us," Maddie said. "You're part of our little gang here now after all."

"It's nice to belong somewhere," King said. "And at least I have Eda, so it's not all lost hope."

"Eda's such a cool lady, kind of wish my mom was like her," Ivy said.

"I'd love to have a mom like her too, mainly since I don't have one at all," Sprig said.

"Maybe Eda can adopt us," Polly said.

"She lives in The Boiling Isles though," Sprig said.

"Oh Hop Pop can relocate, his business is pretty much dead back home anyway," Polly said. "He can start over in The Boiling Isles."

"It gets kind of hot there though," King said.

"We can handle a little heat, it's not like that volcano," Polly said. "Plus, if we lived there, we wouldn't have to say 'good-bye' to each other."

"Wait, Sprig can't move though, what about me?" Ivy asked. "My mom's definitely not moving to another dimension."

"I'd love to move, but I can't imagine my family being alright with it either," Maddie said. "Still, I want to go to that Hexside place."

"Think maybe we can get Hekapoo's scissors?" Polly wondered.

"I doubt it," Ivy said. "Let's brainstorm a bit, see what we can do regarding living situations, because I don't think any of us want to say 'farewell' to King."

"I wouldn't want to say 'farewell' either," King said. "Hope we can think of something."

Meanwhile Marcy, with permission from Star, was reading the Magic Book of Spells, amazed by the contents.

"Such a long, rich history with The Butterfly Family and their magic," Marcy said. "Oh get this! This is a matriarchy, so all the men who marry into the family take the Butterfly last name. Also the first born daughter is the one who gets to be Queen."

"What if a Queen gives birth to a boy?" Amity asked.

"That actually happened, he was set to be the first Boy Queen of Mewni," Marcy said.

"...So, he was set to be a 'King', not a 'Boy Queen', that's like saying 'Girl King'," Amity said.

"Oh you know what I mean," Marcy said. "Point is Jushtin Butterfly was born to Queen Skywynne Butterfly and is the only man with a chapter in the book of spells. But while in the middle of preparing to be Queen-"

"King!" Amity corrected, unknowingly getting King's attention.

"Fine, in the middle of preparing to be King!" Marcy repeated in annoyance, focusing back on the book as King figured no one was actually calling him. "He was told by his mother that she was pregnant, and that it was a girl, so he lost his crown."

"That's kind of bogus, I mean he came so close, why take it away?" Anne asked. "That's just cruel, it should always be oldest child, not oldest daughter or oldest son."

"He probably would have been a great King," Luz said. "Who became Queen instead?"

"Solaria Butterfly," Marcy said.

"Oh yeah, Solaria is Eclipsa's mother," Marco said. "That's when things got kind of screwy."

"Screwy?" Marcy asked.

Moments later, Star had come inside, "Hey, everyone to the Throne Room!"

"Why, what's wrong?" Marco asked.

"We have guests, everyone needs to come, especially Luz and Amity," Star said.

"For us?" Luz asked.

"Better hurry then," Amity said, following her friends to the Throne Room.

Down there, Queen Moon and King River along with Eda, Lilith, Eclipsa, Rhombulus, Omnitrax Prime, General Grime and Hop Pop were welcoming the new guests.

"Eda! Lulu! You're both alive!" Hooty shouted, wrapping around the two. "I am filled with such joy!"

"We missed you too Hooty," Eda said.

"Yes, quite a bit," Lilith said.

"This is a nice, touching reunion," Hop Pop said, then focused on the two new kids. "So, you're a couple of magical kids to then, are ya?"

"Yes sir," Willow said. "And you're a real resident of Amphibia?"

"Lived there mah whole life, if you want I can explain a bit of our history," Hop Pop said.

"I'd love to hear it sometime," Willow said. She then took note of some new arrivals, particularly her friends. "Luz! Amity!"

To Luz's surprise, her Boiling Isles were present in the Throne room, "Willow! Gus!"

Before she could great them, Hooty appeared in front of her path, "Luz! You're alive!"

"Hey Hooty, I missed you," Luz said, hugging the owl. Gus and Willow went for hugs of their own, happy to see their friend again.

Amity seemed surprised, but happy to see her friends again, her presence noticed by Willow, who opened her arms, "Amity, I'm so happy to see you."

"Same," Amity said, hugging Willow. "I'm glad you and Gus are alright, how did you get here?"

"Some friends of yours," Gus said, gesturing to the four Boiling Isle Invaders. "Kelly and Tom are nice, Sasha and Hekapoo...well they're a bit different than nice."

"Sasha's a pain, hope she didn't annoy you too much," Luz said, glaring at the girl.

"It was tolerable," Gus said.

"She can be worse, be lucky you got tolerable," Amity said.

Luz's eyes widened, "Oh right, there's some new friends of mine that I want to introduce you too." She turned to her other friends, "Anne! Marcy! Marco! Come meet Gus and Willow."

"Hi Gus, hi Willow," Anne said, greeting the two.

"Hi Anne, nice to meet you," Gus said.

"You must be the Hexside friends Luz mentioned," Marcy said.

"That's us," Willow said.

"It's nice to meet you, welcome to Mewni," Marco said.

"We're happy to be here, such a nice castle," Gus said.

"So, Anne right?" Willow said. "Thank you so much for looking after Luz, we were really worried about her."

"It's no trouble," Anne said, placing her arm around Luz, much to Amity's annoyance. "What are friends for? Plus Luz is amazing."

"Aw, thanks Anne," Luz said, blushing a bit. "She really is the nicest girl, we have so much in common. She got stranded in a land away from the Human Realm too, but she ended up in Amphibia."

"I was wondering how you got there," Gus said. "Did the same happen to Marcy and Marco?"

"Marcy, yes, me, no," Marco said. "I came to Mewni with Princess Star Butterfly, who seems to be talking with Hekapoo about something."

"What do you mean you just went off to The Boiling Isles!?" Star shouted in annoyance.

"Yeah, you're welcome," Hekapoo said. "We brought the fight to Belos, and we found more allies."

"Speaking of allies, I must go see King Andrias," Moon said. "River, could you keep watch over things?"

"Sure my dear," River said.

"Ask him about the scissors!" Marco said as Moon left to Amphibia.

"Well point is, we did well out there, so you can drop the bad attitude, Princess," Hekapoo said.

Star groaned in annoyance, "You are lucky you didn't get Kelly or Tom killed out there!"

"I was there too, yet you don't seem to be worried about my safety," Sasha said.

"Oh you would have been fine, you're Hekapoo's new pet after all," Star said.

Sasha's eye widened in annoyance, "What the fuck did you just say to me!?"

"Hey watch that mouth of yours kid, there's younger kids nearby," Eda said, gesturing to King and the young frogs.

"Eh, I've heard that word before," Polly said.

Hop Pop glared at his granddaughter, "Where?"

Sasha shook it off, "Listen, I don't need this crap, I literally just risked my life out there, you could at least be grateful. While your royal ass was sitting out doing nothing aside from looking pretty for a boy that isn't your boyfriend, I was getting things done!"

"Sasha! Chill! That's a Princess!" Anne said.

"Oh like I give a rat's ass," Sasha said.

"You need to get out of my face," Star warned.

"Or what? Princess?" Sasha asked, getting in closer.

"Sasha, chill," Hekapoo said, easing the girl back. "I know Star was out of line a moment ago but I do need to keep her safe, even from you. Now go take a few minutes to cool off while I talk things over with her."

Sasha grumbled in annoyance, "Fine..."

She stormed off with Grime following, "I should check on her, she gets very angry and I don't want her to break anything."

"Sure thing, Grime," Hekapoo said, focusing on Star as the toad left. "Star, I like you, and I do want to protect you, but you need to be more cooperative and trusting."

"Like Eclipsa was when you gave away her baby?" Star asked.

"Dont' start with that again, in time you'll be happy I did that, for now, count your damn blessings, things could be so much worse for you," Hekapoo said.

"Yeah, sure..." Star said. "Next time you go on some Covert Ops mission, clear it with me or my mom first."

"I did tell your mom, she was fine with it, you are not obligated to know this stuff," Hekapoo said.

"I'm the Princess!" Star said.

"And Moon's the Queen! That's a higher position," Hekapoo reminded. "I know Kelly and Tom are your best friend and boyfriend, but I did what I needed to do, and if I had to bring them along without telling you, well that's a price worth paying because we got shit done today."

Star grumbled in annoyance, "You know what, fine...good for you."

With that, the Princess walked off, leaving Hekapoo very annoyed. Meanwhile Janna had walked by, loudly sipping some soda, "Did I miss something?"

"Teenagers suck sometimes," Hekapoo said.

"Speaking of suck, wonder how those girls did hanging around Marco for so long?" Janna said out loud, that Marco and the other girls overheard it, and none of them were happy.

"I really don't like that girl," Luz said.

"Feeling's mutual," Anne said.

"So..." Willow shyly glanced at Marco, "You seem like a nice boy."

Marcy immediately glared at the witch, something Anne, Luz and Amity noticed immediately, the three getting a bit worried.

Eda chuckled to herself at that, "Kids...so chaotic at times"

"Eda?" Came Raine's voice, the rebel leader finally making an appearance in Mewni.

"Well I'll be damned," Eda said, glancing at her old classmate. "It's been way too long, Raine."

Meanwhile Moon was explaining the situation to King Andrias, "Turns out one of mine got in a good strike against Belos himself. With your army and mine, along with some rebels in The Boiling Isles, I feel we can save Mewni from it's outside threat."

"Sounds great, my troops are ready, you may take them now if you want," Andrias said, then called out. "Newtopian Knights, congregate in my Throne Room!"

Within seconds, the knights made their presence known, "I am Yunan, the youngest-"

"Not now, Yunan," Andrias said. "Mewni needs assistance, bring the army to repel what's left of The Boiling Isles."

"Of course sir," Yunan said, leading her troops through a portal.

"Now, Queen Moon, I am doing you quite the favor here, so would you be able to do one for me soon?" Andrias asked.

"Sure, what is it?" Moon replied.

"It is a dream of mine to be able to travel to other realms, I've heard tales as a boy, and well, I was hoping that with this newfound alliance, I too can have a pair of those Dimensional Scissors to call my own," Andrias said. "In addition, our Kingdoms can keep in touch."

"Oh, well I suppose that's fair, I will speak with Hekapoo about it, I am sure she would be happy to lend you a pair, King Andrias," Moon said.

"That sounds great, and hey, maybe you, me and your husband can even go on a road trip across the multiverse, traveling is always more fun with friends," Andrias said, once again having a laugh, this one a little less enthusiastic however.

"Uh, sure, I will consider that," Moon said. "Till next we meet."

"Of course," King Andrias said as Moon left back to her world. Andrias then went into deep thought, "A pair of my own scissors, that would be quite an interesting turn of events, I may not even need that Calamity Box, though having it in my possession still seems nice. Every day the arrival of those three girls brings more and more interesting developments."

While Andrias thought over his plans, Belos was also planning his own comeback, he was far from done. Plus, deep down, Star knew that The Boiling Isles was only one problem compared to another that plagued her own family, such as fixing the Butterfly Family lineage, and correcting sins of the past.
